Chapter 33: Alien discovered

William began his destruction like a mindless beast. The more he fought, the more ferocious he became.

Something strange was beginning to happen inside his body. The bites and scratches from zombies could be fatal to normal humans, but after being bitten and scratched so many times while he was fighting the horde, he wasn’t affected much.

Instead, more and more black lines began spreading all over his body. His skin on his face had started to turn grey all over.

The more this phenomenon increased, the more brutal William became. When his hands were busy, he even started using his mouth to tear open the zombies, and soon he started devouring the zombies’ flesh.

Leo watched all this with increasing horror in his heart.

The alien was also perhaps shocked by this situation as zombies from the surrounding area began to gather in this region and started heading straight towards William, like moths going towards a flame.

As the battle waged on longer, instead of getting exhausted, William was getting stronger and more energetic by the second.

Due to the battle, William’s jacket and shirt had long been torn into shreds, and his upper body was fully exposed. But in place of the normal human skin colour, his skin had turned dark grey in colour.

Soon his skin had become rock hard, and no matter what the zombies did, they could no longer even scratch his skin.

Seeing the situation escalating out of control, the alien decided to take matters into its own hands.

It quickly made a mental attack on William.

"Aahhhhhhhh!"

William suddenly screamed and crouched down on the spot while clutching his head with both hands.

It seemed that after becoming insane, William’s mental defence was no longer as strong as before.

Before, when the alien had attacked him mentally, William only felt pain for a slight second, but looking at his situation now, it seemed he was in unimaginable pain.

The zombies also began attacking him aggressively. Crawlers began biting his vital regions. Spitters began spitting corrosive acid on him, and stalkers began slashing at him with their hands.

Leo, inside the truck, could also feel vibrations coming from afar, as if a heavy object was walking towards their direction.

But the zombies’ attacks did little damage to William. The alien’s counterattack had arrived too late. William was now almost immune to these attacks.

Soon William even began to adapt to the alien’s mental attack. He began trying to stand up but found it difficult to move, as hundreds of zombies had surrounded him and were trying to restrain his movements.

Instinctively, William put all his strength into his legs and thighs. He got into a jumping posture and then immediately stood up, waving his arms in the upward direction.

The zombies that were on top of him, putting pressure on his body using their weight, got sent flying away.

This was the only moment William needed. He soon started killing zombies left and right.

The alien once again launched a mental attack, and William just froze for a moment.

Then William turned his head in a particular direction, and he saw that hiding in between the horde was a stalker.

This stalker was a little different from the other stalkers because, in its torso, there was a giant eyeball the size of a head.

Leo and William had previously missed the eyeball because the stalker had always been elusive, and the huge number of zombies had helped it remain concealed.

If not for its continuous mental attacks and William’s senses gradually adapting to the alien’s mental interference, William would have never been able to find this odd stalker.

Perhaps realising that William had locked onto its position and sensing the threat William posed to it, the alien ordered the stalker to run and hide while all the other zombies began to block William’s way.

William began frantically chasing after the stalker. Even though he was blocked numerous times by the zombies between him and the alien, William never lost sight of this odd stalker.

His eyes kept following every direction and every place it tried to hide while he instinctively swung his arms and legs around to kill the zombies attacking him as he moved towards the stalker’s location.

William soon lost patience with the constant interference and jumped high into the air, landing close to the stalker.

William might have lost his sanity, but his body was gradually remembering and adapting the fighting techniques that he had learned during his time in the military.

His fighting style was gradually becoming refined, and the rate at which he killed the surrounding zombies became faster and faster.

Before, he was just one-sidedly slaughtering, but while chasing after the stalker, he displayed various inhuman manoeuvres that were only possible after gaining inhuman strength.

Soon William cornered the stalker and directly threw a punch at the large eye placed on the stalker’s torso.
