Chapter 265: Chapter 265: Tidegate Base

Zerra was happy, hugging the tiger fondly. However, Azir was a little terrified. He had screamed loudly in fright. Although he had mostly calmed down, he was still anxious.

"Don’t worry, the tiger is really friendly." She tried to reassure Azir again.

He was quiet for the whole journey then and didn’t make too much fuss. Zerra opened the map, and she communicated with the tiger to bring them to the nearest base.

Tide Gate base.

The journey took around a day before they arrived. Some people sized them up. In contrast to them, the people from the base were mostly thin and dirty.

Zerra realized that the tribe members led a better life compared to the people from the base. Fortunately, they lived rather deep in the mountains.

The outer members also must have kept their mouth shut about their possession and didn’t allow the people who had taken refuge with them to know too much.

"Can we stay here?" Zerra asked the guard in charge of their gate.

She just needed to rest for a night, to create the medicine necessary for her parents’ condition. The ones she made were quite effective.

Her parents even woke up when they were in her inner space. The tiger told her about this. Unfortunately, there was Azir, so she couldn’t bring them out.

"Of course." The guard examined her. "But you will need to pay if you want to get a room, Miss."

Seeing some people travelling in a small group actually wasn’t too strange anymore. However, Zerra’s healthy countenance had attracted a bit of attention.

"Sure." She flung a few crystal cores to the guard, a little impatient. "Give us two rooms."

The guard curled up his lips after he checked the amount of crystal core in his hand. There were a few extra crystal cores.

"Follow me, Miss."

Zerra dragged Azir with her. The boy looked extremely alert in the new environment. When they arrived at the rooms, Zerra tossed him to the other room while she took the other.

She didn’t forget to let the tiger out. After a while, she was immersed in her medicine again. This time, she wanted to make a few batches that could last for a while and didn’t want anyone disturbing her.

Some desperate people might come knocking at the door later. She didn’t expect that the base’s condition had deteriorated to such a degree.

If she knew beforehand, she would have cast some illusion on them, making Azir and her appearance more gaunt and gloomy just like them. The tribe members’ situation couldn’t represent the majority of the people at all.

Even if they might sometimes not eat to save food, it wasn’t to the point of starving.

"Drink it," Zerra ordered the little dragon.

The small thing looked at the medicine curiously. He dipped his tongue in the cup, but the extreme bitter taste made him nearly flung the cup away. Thankfully, Zerra was quick in catching it. Otherwise, it would have gone to waste!

The little dragon stared at her with accusing eyes, as if complaining why she gave him such a medicine!

She simply caught the little thing and channeled the wood power into him. Not long after, she heard a familiar deep voice. "Zizi."

Without hesitation, she stuffed the potion into his arm. Cassias stared at the potion and didn’t hesitate to drink it. An inexplicable feeling stirred in her heart.

"Are you not afraid I will poison it?" She raised her brows.

Cassias let out a hearty laugh. "It’s impossible for you to do that."

"Why?" She asked nonchalantly, but...

Her heart was a little restless. The more she discovered the forgotten memories, the more surprised she became. Although some memories were blurry, Cassias’ figure had occupied most of it...

What sort of entanglement they had in their past life?

"You know why." Cassias had a confident tone. He also knew Zerra was just asking casually and even wanted to tease him a little.

Zerra didn’t actually have something important to discuss with him. She just wanted to call him out to accompany her. Otherwise, she could have just forced the medicine down the unwilling little dragon’s throat.

She already made a few bottles of medicine. Once she knew the formula, it became easier.

Cassias seemed not to notice her mood. He accompanied her to chat for an hour. She used this chance to ask about the past too.

"Did I really reincarnate a lot of times in the past...?" She finally asked when his time was almost up. He should knew.

"Yes." He paused. His eyes held some conflicted feelings.

"How many times?" She pressed.

"I am not too sure about it." Cassias shook his head. "But..."

He didn’t continue his words. His voice was replaced by a small dragon roar, who had a confused look on his face.

Zerra sighed. She took a deep breath and drank some spring water before she went back to potion making.

When the night came, some people really came knocking at her door. She already stopped her potion making activity, pretending to sleep and let the people in.

"Boss, do you think she is some powerful ability user’s woman?" A nervous voice can be heard from the door. "If we make a move on her, what if we get into trouble?"

There was a sound of slap. Someone hissed. "Then shut up. We have to do this quietly so that no one notices it’s us."

With that, someone messed with her window. A moment later, there was a small movement. They already entered from there. The rest keep guard from the door, most likely to stop her from escaping.

However, Zerra indeed didn’t have an intention to run.

As they rummaged through her room for valuables, she slowly opened her eyes.

"You are not sleeping?!" A shocked voice alarmed the others.

They witnessed Zerra’s whips wrapped around them, binding them together. The people outside the door gradually also noticed something wrong.

Zerra opened the door and grinned. "You all don’t need to go through the window."

Seeing her appearing and the sight of their bound companions, they turned around and wanted to run. Zerra quickly controlled the whip with spiritual power and dragged them in.

They all stared at her with terror in their eyes, pleading with her to release them. She raised her eyebrows. Luckily, she had blocked their voices, otherwise it would have been noisy.

She lifted her whips, giving a thrilling experience flying in the sky and falling. Zerra giggled, dragging them out of her room. She took out a rope and tied the four people to a tree.

They had to spend the night there. If they were lucky, someone might see and release them. Well, if they weren’t, they might have to spend the rest of their lives on the three...

Zerra had gagged and rendered them unable to use their power. After she was done, she went back to her room.

However, on the way back, she noticed something. The tiger trotted toward her. In her mouth, a teenager hung limpy, his head down and not willing to look at her.

The tiger explained what had just happened. Zerra nodded, understanding something. She called out. "Azir."

Azir’s body trembled, but he didn’t look up, keeping his head down.

Zerra opened her mouth again. "If you are unwilling to go with me, I won’t force you. We are not too far away from your tribe’s place now, we can still go back."

The teenager had tried to run away. Zerra wanted to fulfill her promise to the Tribe Leader, but if Azir kept on making trouble like running away, she would rather use other means to compensate for the map.

She would just return it. Anyway, she already memorized it.

"Let’s go back. I will escort you." Zerra walked back to her room. "You two wait here. I will take our things."

Azir suddenly lifted his head. There was some struggle in his eyes. He watched as Zerr’s figure gradually became smaller.

"No. No... need." He finally forced out the words.

"Why? It’s a perfect opportunity to go back now." Zerra turned around. "I don’t have the time to deal with your mischief."

It would make the journey several times more dangerous.

"I-I promise you." He looked dejected but still gritted his teeth and promised. "I will be obedient from now on."

After he thought it over again, he didn’t want to see the Tribe Leader’s and his wife’s disappointed faces. He was just feeling resistance when he thought about meeting his father who had abandoned them.

"Don’t send me back..." he muttered.

Zerra sighed. "Alright."

The two went back to their rooms. During her potion making time, she had asked the tiger to help deliver food to Azir’s place.

"Don’t make trouble again or I will just send you back no matter how far." She threatened.

Azir gulped and nodded.

Actually, she knew about Azir’s unwillingness. It was better for him to explode sooner than later, lest his emotion became a time bomb. She was still worrying about her parents’ condition and couldn’t spare energy for other worries.

After she arrived at her room, she fed her parents some medicine. Surprisingly, it was more effective this time.

Her parents were awake.
