Apocalypse: Zombie King is the Female Lead's Younger Sister
Chapter 268: Previous Souls
"Zee!" Her mom hugged the fluffy little fox in front of her. Zerra’s size was much smaller than her parents.
She was immediately enveloped in a mass of white fur. The small fox yipped excitedly. The baby dragon who had Zerra escaping from his grasp into her parents’, sat down on the small blanket, observing the fluffy foxes with curiosity.
"Mom, Dad!" Zerra gasped before they finally let go.
Nerith pinched her cheek softly. "You have gotten thinner."
Zerra blinked. Did she? She was currently in her fox form, and as such, she never paid attention to her body. As long as she was still slim on her human form, it was fine no matter how fat she became on her fox form.
"Do you want to eat something first?" She immediately offered, taking some instant food and snacks.
The parents agreed, sitting down as their daughter divided the food. The baby dragon also got their share.
Alaric and Nerith were instantly reminded of the little dragon’s presence. A look of worry crossed their faces.
Alaric opened his mouth first after he took a spoonful of the instant porridge. "Where did you kidnap this baby dragon, Zee? They are rare nowadays..."
Nerith nudged her husband. "How can you say kidnap? Our daughter isn’t a kidnapper!"
Now that the three of them were similarly in the fox form, they didn’t need a translator. They could just yip as they wished and the other would understand their words.
"You don’t recognize him?" Zerra blinked and titled her head. She was sure that based on Cassias’ frequency of awakening his consciousness, he would awaken it more often compared to her parents.
Yet, he hadn’t been conscious at all this time?
"This is Cassias," she explained.
A bewildered look crossed her parents’ faces. Alaric murmured, "So, he is a dragon..."
"Mom, Dad. What’s wrong with a dragon?" She was extremely puzzled. Even in her memory, Nias had told her there was something with the dragon clan?
Alaric’s expression stiffened, and under his wife’s discreet glare, he hurriedly shook his head. "It’s nothing."
Zerra knew they were hiding something. However, since they have just awakened, it wasn’t the right time to discuss such a heavy topic.
Well, at least... she waited until they finished their meals.
The baby dragon was unusually quiet, eating his part without making a fuss. He sat beside Zerra like an obedient cub, cute from head to toe. Even Zerra couldn’t resist from secretly sneaking a rub on his wings.
The baby dragon acted as if he didn’t notice what she had done. It was a little odd.
"Mom, Dad, now I want to ask something..." Zerra began. Her expression turned serious, and the atmosphere became heavy all of a sudden.
Alaric and Nerith exchanged glances, before turning their attention to their daughter.
"Since you two remember the memories from the Celestial Realm, the previous souls of the body... where are they?" She swallowed, lowering her head.
She didn’t want to bring up this topic but she had to. Otherwise, she would feel guilty.
Not long, she was pulled into another warm hug by her mom. Nerith’s paw caressed her daughter’s little head. She also kissed her forehead.
"Sorry, we have made you worried, Zee." Nerith pursed her lips.
Alaric was the one who answered her questions, "Actually, the previous personality was also us. It was just recently that we remembered our real identities. Sorry for making you worry."
Zerra couldn’t help but let out a sigh of relief when she heard that. She let herself enjoy her mom’s caress in contentment. It was as if a huge boulder had been lifted from her shoulders.
The case was similar to her.
"Then, how did we end up here?" She asked again. Confusion brimming in her eyes.
This world was too chaotic and her parents couldn’t even protect themselves. When they were in the Celestial Realm, her parents were very strong, capable of flattening a mountain, but now, they became powerless mortals.
"We also don’t know." Nerith answered slowly. "Let’s find out the reason together, shall we?"
Zerra couldn’t see her parents’ expression because her face was pressed against Nerith’s chest. They had complex looks on their faces.
She suddenly remembered something and pulled herself from Nerith’s embrace. Her eyes gazed at her mom worriedly, eyeing her from head to toe. "How are you feeling, Mom? You woke up later than Dad."
Her voice was filled with anxiety. She even scanned her mom’s body for any sign of something wrong.
"I am fine." Nerith assured. "I slept longer because my human body didn’t awaken any ability. As a result, it had to adjust with the memories for a while."
"Really?" Zerra asked in an unsure tone.
"I can feel your mom’s condition too. You should believe us. When did your parents ever lie to you?" Alaric knocked her forehead gently. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
A smile bloomed on Zerra’s face. She was really happy. It meant that there shouldn’t be any problem with her mother’s condition, right?
"So, your powers should increase now?" She tilted her head.
The two of them nodded.
The revelation that the two of them were also the parents who had taken care of her since her childhood also made her very excited. This world wasn’t too bad after all. She got to make up for her lost childhood with her parents here.
Even so... she was still feeling bad that her parents suffered in many reincarnations.
On top of that, she has two older siblings in this world, huh? She blinked and couldn’t help but stare at her dad.
That night, for another hour, Zerra listened to yet another shocking secret.

When the night became deeper, her parents’ consciousness finally subsided. She fell asleep on her bed with a smile, hugging the baby dragon who insisted on sleeping with her.
As a result, the baby tiger also joined and there were six people–no, six animals sleeping in the tent. The five of them made a nest on the tiger’s belly.
When she woke up again, she stuffed the four into her inner space.
The four ’workers’ were unexpectedly quite diligent. They were already in the process of cleaning the surroundings and cooking even before she woke up. Once she did, she was offered a steaming hot meal.
"Give me a few more bowls." She told them.
The tiger could hunt for herself. Once she left, the four became visibly worried.
"Miss Zerra, wouldn’t the tiger run away?" Norman asked hesitantly.
After Zerra stuffed the three bowls into the inner space, she turned to him. "She won’t."
They all still looked worried even after she said that, so she took out the mischievous baby tiger out of her inner space. It rolled on the ground happily.
Azir didn’t dare to approach the big one, but he couldn’t resist the small one’s cuteness, so he ended up playing with the baby tiger.
The rest revealed a look of understanding. Since there was a baby tiger, the tiger would surely return. After all, they were very protective of their cubs.
Among the four people, two had obvious animal characteristics–Norman and Ashley. They were also a couple.
Norman had goat-like ears while Ashley had rabbit’ ears. They admitted they couldn’t retract this particular characteristic of theirs.
"Have you seen anyone who has a complete animal transformation?" Zerra asked them.
"Complete animal transformation?" Mateo furrowed his brows. "We have never heard any." Then, he glanced at Norman’s ears.
"But... if someone has a complete animal transformation, they might have a similar situation with Norman or Ashley?" He pointed at them. "They might have a difficult time reverting back to human form."
Zerra also found out it made some sense. She couldn’t help but take another glance at Mateo. This man was quite smart. How did they end up becoming so malnourished and without food?
She had to try to find any animals with a high level of intelligence then. So far, she also hadn’t found any.
"Other than that, have you seen cases where people disappear randomly?" She asked again, trying to get a grasp of the spatial tears’ severity.
If normal people had found out about them too, then, things would have entered a dangerous state. Spatial tears were more dangerous than any zombie.
Mateo shook his head. "I have never heard of it." He turned to his henchmen. "How about you three?"
They also shook their heads, making Zerra become slightly relieved. She asked them some more questions. After they finished their meals, the tiger came back.
They waited for her to have her meal while preparing to set off again. The distance from the current location to the next base was quite far. It would take approximately half a month.
Zerra already got an answer about her parents, but she still hadn’t asked about Cassias and Nyrs yet. Were they also reincarnated or transmugrated?
When she remembered they had a relationship in the previous reincarnations, she didn’t understand why she felt uncomfortable.
"Who are you?"
Just as they were a few days away from the next base, the baby dragon who had been sleeping peacefully in the tent suddenly became a human.
"Miss Zerra, there is a man in your tent?!" Ashley, who had returned from the river announced, eyes wide.
