At first, the two police officers thought this was just a case of attempted burglary, but after looking at the evidence, they were utterly shocked.

’There was a murder case involved, too!’

The young officer immediately took Qin Jiao’s hand. "Miss, thank you so much. That elementary school teacher has been missing for a long time. Her family filed a report, but we didn’t have a single lead. Thank you for giving us a new line of inquiry!"

The explanation was perfectly plausible and had no holes. Besides, if Feng Dayong was also implicated in a murder, he would most likely be locked up for good.

’And Feng Dayong had the nerve to call the young lady a ghost. If ghosts were real, the girl buried in his own yard would be the first to crawl out and strangle him to death.’

Before leaving the police station, however, Qin Zhonghui and Su Yun asked one more question. "Officer, will Feng Lan be sentenced as well?"

"She was an accomplice and participated in the burglary. Her crime is much less serious than Feng Dayong’s, but she’s still looking at two to five years. There’s no getting around that."

Qin Zhonghui and Su Yun exchanged a look, both sighing at the grim turn of events.
