Beast Evolution System: Devourer of Heaven
Chapter 383: Void Swarm
While Ved and Naledi were in their tranquil state comprehending laws and awakening something far beyond their imagination.
At the edge of the universe, a crack in space time continued growing bigger and bigger with passing moment.
This universe was fairly young and the myriad races had just embarked on the path of cultivation.
However amongst them there were those born of nature, unlike other they could live for as long as elements exist.
The oldest of them had grown powerful enough to comprehend laws and currently those old beings stirred.
Each detected the anomaly at the edge of the universe and moved. One by one, elementals of different elements appeared near the edge of the universe.
A man made of scorching flames spoke, " What do you think caused this?" He asked none of the others could answer.
They continued talking and speculating until a woman of water raised her hand, she was one of the strongest beings here.
" Quiet, can you hear that?" She asked but they all looked confused, they didn’t know what she was talking about.
" Retreat!" She shouted and without question they all flew back thousands of kilometres instantly.
One was a bit slower, he was a younger elemental of earth and speed was not his forte.
The crack suddenly blew up and a cloud flew like a flood, before the poor earth elemental could do anything, it drowned him.
Upon closer they noticed this was not a cloud but a countless swarm of beetles, each pitch black and about 30 cm in diameter.
Each beetle didn’t feel threatening but strangely, together they felt like a single and powerful entity.
The earth elemental lasted for a while due to his high defense but eventually they hit through his rock hard skin and reached his core.
" What are those things?!" One of shouted but nobody could answer, this universe had never faced void beasts before.
They had no knowledge of them at all, the elementals fought with all of their might to push back the swarm.
Their elemental abilities barely did anything even though each one has comprehended laws.
The strongest amongst them currently was the female water elemental who was at the peak of comprehension realm.
Unfortunately while elementals had eternal lifespan, their comprehensive ability and growth was slow as a result.
For such a young universe, there was not a single creation realm and amongst peak comprehension realm, there were only five.
Fortunately for them, the void beasts attacking them was relatively weak as well, the swarm could be compared to creation realm without a law art.
Which meant it was just a comprehension realm with an extremely abundant amount of energy and vitality.
Making it possible to beat by those at the comprehension realm, unfortunately none here were that strong.
The swarm seemed to be able to create more beetles each time they destroyed them.
Realising this fight would be endless, the water elemental acted. Her body grew to the size of a planet.
" Eternal Sea!" She shouted and a flood appeared in space, it crashed towards the swarm like an endless wall.
The swarm shrieked in a voice so vile it corrupted space itself. The flood of water imbued with laws drowned the swarm.
The others relaxed but the water elemental grew fearful, she could feel them eating through her water.
They were even devouring the laws within, she knew she couldn’t stop this creating alone and called out.
The other elementals on her level has been waiting to see, upon her call they knew something bad was happening.
Four beings of vast statues appeared in the void next to her. One was an earth elemental with trees growing on her body.
She looked like a living fertile land, on her worlds she was worshipped as the god of fertility.
The second was a giant of fire and stone, a magma element whose heat seemed to burn space itself.
The third was a wind elemental with occasional flickers of thunder on his body, the last one was of light.
He was completely humanoid, while she and the earth elemental had humanoid upper bodies.
Their lower bodies were like the tips of a family gown and the other two were not humanoid at all.
One was just a cloud of wind and thunder and the other was shifting mass of stone and fire.
The five of them faced the swarm of void beetles together, she did not need to tell them what’s happening here.
The battle reached a stalemate but they were certain that would not last very long because the swarm was growing. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂
Eventually they would be overwhelmed, without another choice they summoned their worshippers.
Unfortunately they had forgotten one important fact, in order to maintain their rule and identities of Gods.
They had kept those people in ignorance and state of powerlessness. They started to regret their choices.
They sent other elementals to search for aid, any aid in the universe while they kept the entire Swarm in check.
The elementals spresd but each civilization they found only had weak people, none who could leave their home world let alone help with the war.
And just like that, nearly a hundred years passed, they were starting to lose hope and the swarm was starting to get free.
One lightning elemental was flying through space without watching when he suddenly crashed into something and came to a stop.
" Damnit, who placed a hunk of metal here?!" He shouted then paused, he looked up through the glass on this metal structure.
There he saw humans, standing in front of them was a woman and next to her was a pair of a man and woman.
The elemental froze because it could sense a terrifying aura from these three, something that should not have been possible for humans.
" Who are you?" The woman who appeared to be in charge asked, he froze unable to answer.
He was not the only one, in other places, other elementals found civilizations that were powerful enough to help.
What all of them noticed was that each of these races and civilizations were worshipping three certain Gods.
