Chapter 512: Chapter 511: Wouldn’t Dare to Provoke Him for Anything

Jing Lin slowly opened his eyes, which were filled with disbelief and joyful surprise. He couldn’t help but leap off the stone bed and dart excitedly around the room. With such vibrant energy, where was any trace of his previous frailty?

"Lady Ji Nuan, is my congenital illness, the one I’ve had since birth, completely cured?" He ran around for quite a while, his body feeling invigorated and free, without a hint of the chest tightness or shortness of breath he used to experience.

What’s more, with a flap of his wings, he created two small Tornados that knocked over a pair of wooden stumps being used as stools!

Sweet Ring smiled and nodded. "You bet. This is a Bone Marrow Cleansing and Vein Cutting Pill; it’s meant to improve one’s constitution and aptitude. That little illness of yours was nothing at all."

Jing Lin stood in the doorway, enjoying the sunlight. Suddenly, he felt something wrap around his leg. He looked down and saw Sweet Ring quickly slithering up and coiling herself on his back.

"Let’s go! We’re going to welcome Jing Qi!" Sweet Ring said with a smile, hissing as she flicked her forked tongue.

Jing Lin let out a low roar and dashed outside.

Most of the males in the Winged Lion Tribe were golden or gray Winged Lions. Silver-white ones were almost unheard of, making Jing Lin undoubtedly the most conspicuous among them.

Seeing him dash out, the other cubs all swarmed around him.

"Well, well, if it isn’t the little sickling. What brings you outside today? Where are you off to?"

"Where could he possibly be going? Haha! Look how he’s rushing. I bet he’s got diarrhea..."

The crowd of cubs roared with laughter.

Sweet Ring huffed and whispered, "No, *you’re* the ones with diarrhea!"

The words had barely left her mouth when the smiles on the cubs’ faces froze. They felt their stomachs churn and rumble violently, as if drums were being beaten inside them. They hastily scattered, desperately searching for a place to relieve themselves. The sight of them running off in such a panic left Jing Lin dumbfounded. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦

’They let him off that easily?’ he thought. "Lady Ji Nuan, they didn’t actually run off with diarrhea, did they?"

"Of course they did," Sweet Ring huffed. "Since you call her ’Lady,’ isn’t it my duty to protect you? It’s a matter of mutual give and take."

Jing Lin’s eyes reddened, and his voice choked up as he said, "Lady Ji Nuan is so good to me. Ever since Father and Mother left, this is the first time anyone has protected my brother and me."

Sweet Ring couldn’t stand seeing him like this. "Oh, this is just the beginning. Meeting me was the start of your good fortune. I’ll protect you both from now on!" ’Once they grow up,’ she thought, ’it’ll be their turn to protect me. It’s a surefire investment.’

Jing Lin nodded vigorously. "Rest assured, Lady Ji Nuan, I will train hard in my Cultivation and become your greatest and most powerful servant."

"Then let’s fly faster!" Sweet Ring urged, her tail coiled in his fur.

Jing Lin grinned, flapped his wings, and carried her into the sky. A Winged Lion’s build was different from that of the Eagle Falcon Clan. They could fly fast but couldn’t execute a high-speed dive. Even so, Sweet Ring rode securely on Jing Lin’s back, reveling in the feeling of soaring on the wind. Gazing at the beautiful, expansive scenery below, she couldn’t help but shout with delight.

Following her directions, Jing Lin performed all sorts of aerial tricks. Although he possessed a Wind Ability, he hadn’t even begun his Cultivation yet, but his flying speed was already among the fastest of the cubs.

They frolicked in the air for a while. Meanwhile, the cubs from before were convinced Jing Lin had played some trick on them. Why else would they all have been forced to squat in the bushes right after mocking him?

Thus, after the winged lion cubs finished their business, they all took to the sky to surround Jing Lin.

Carrying Sweet Ring, Jing Lin tore through the sky at top speed. Sweet Ring had participated in training at her own home and had seen how the Fathers trained the brothers. She offered Jing Lin occasional pointers, telling him to treat this chase as a form of training.

The cubs kept thinking they were about to catch Jing Lin, but just as they were about to nip at his tail, he would always manage to evade them and shoot further away.

With his clan mates "escorting" him, Jing Lin quickly mastered combining flight with his superpower.

Lost in the chase, they failed to notice how far they had flown from the Winged Lion Tribe’s territory. Suddenly, the expression of one winged lion cub changed drastically, and he growled, "Jing Lin, stop! It’s dangerous up ahead!"

Jing Lin froze in mid-air. Turning his head, he saw the other winged lion cubs frantically turning back, flapping their wings desperately as if they were being pursued by some Evil Beast.

Almost without a second thought, he turned to follow them.

But they hadn’t flown far when a rough voice boomed out, "Haha! Everyone, come and see! What are these little guys we’ve found?"

"Winged lion cubs? They don’t look like they’ve been trained. And no adult male guardians?"

The cubs flapped their wings with all their might, but without the boost of Spiritual Power, they were quickly overtaken by the Winged Tiger Beastmen.

The leader gave a mighty flap of his wings, sending a blast of wind that sent the cubs tumbling. They lost control and began to plummet. Panicked, the cubs flapped their wings wildly and only managed to stabilize themselves after a long fall.

Little Hui, the Clan Leader’s son, flew in front of the others. "You’ve gone too far! This is the Luoyue Mountain Range, territory of the Winged Lion Clan. You have no right to be here!"

"Your territory? Hah! Not even the Beast God would dare say that. Territory belongs to the strong."

"Let us go, or our Fathers and Grandfathers will make you pay!" another winged lion cub shouted, forcing out the words even as his teeth chattered in fear.

"Tsk. What do you mean, *they* won’t let *us* off? More like *we* have no intention of letting *them* off, eh?" The Winged Tiger Clan members roared with laughter. They wasted no more time talking, simply wrapping the cubs up in Beast Skins, two to a bundle, and flying straight for the Cangyue Mountain Range.

The terrified cubs burst into tears. "If I’d known what a powerful jinx that Jing Lin was, I’d never have provoked him..."

"This is horrible! I don’t want to be kidnapped... I want my Father and Mother..."

"How do Jing Qi and Jing Lin still have the nerve to be alive? They’ve dragged us all down with them! Don’t tell me he led us here on purpose to get caught by the Winged Tiger Clan, all so he could find his Mother?"

"Pah! His Mother would never want a son who betrays his own clan..."

Jing Lin pressed his lips together tightly. For some reason, their words—blaming him and his brother, as always—sounded especially grating today.

"I’m sorry, Lady Ji Nuan. I’ve dragged you into this," he said dejectedly. "They won’t keep us tied up in these Beast Skin Bags forever. Once you can get out, Lady Ji Nuan, please leave and tell my brother..."

Sweet Ring hissed with a laugh. "Since you call her ’Lady,’ shouldn’t I look out for you? But say... do you want to take this chance to go see your Mother?"

Jing Lin’s eyes widened. He and his brother had always wanted to see their Mother. But their plan had been to wait until they were strong enough to go and support her properly.

"I want to, but if we go, we might never be able to come back," Jing Lin said, his voice laced with disappointment. Then he forced himself to sound resolute. "Lady Ji Nuan, rest assured, I will never expose you."

’If he told them that Ji Nuan was a Water Monster, they would probably assume he was hallucinating. But once they realized how incredibly, outrageously powerful Ji Nuan was, they could only attribute it all to her being a Water Monster of boundless magical abilities...’
