Beast World Food Stall: Feeding My Cubs and Taming My Beast Husbands
Chapter 133: The Dragon Clan’s Joyous Occasion
Granny Gu and Yu Yun disappeared into the thick fog. Yu An glanced at the winding path at her feet and decided to head to the Beastman settlement to ask about Yu Huang’s whereabouts.
But it was already dark. Recalling that Granny Gu and her group had someone backing them, Yu An found a hidden spot and entered her space. She planned to rest there for the night, disguise herself, and then set out again.
She had just stepped inside when Ao Si came out.
Ao Si’s clothes were in tatters, and he was covered in dirt and grime, looking like he’d just escaped from a wasteland.
He looked left and right, then threw his head back and roared at the sky—
’Where did my little sis go?’
’Where on earth did she go!!!’
Worried about Yu An, he hesitated for a moment before deciding to go on ahead and search.
’There’s only one path. My little sis can’t have gone far.’
Chun Nuan and the others had been living in the space the whole time. When she learned that Yu An had arrived on the Beast God Continent, Chun Nuan struggled, wanting to go out.
"I must go find the Princess! After being taken away by those people for so many years, the Princess must have suffered so much!"
Thanks to drinking the Divine Spring Water every day, along with Yu An’s treatments, Chun Nuan’s eyes and body had nearly made a full recovery.
Yu An quickly held her back. "Aunt Chun, please don’t rush. I will definitely find my Female Mother. You can’t go out. What if something happens?"
"That’s right," Xiao Quan chimed in. "Female Mother, we don’t know this place or anyone here. Going out would just be a burden to our lady."
Chun Nuan had just been emotional. Realizing she couldn’t help and would only be a burden, she calmed down.
"Then... you must be careful. How about you let Xiao Quan go with you? You could watch out for each other."
Yu An shook her head. "No, it’s more convenient for me to be alone. If I run into danger, I can quickly duck into my space and hide."
Chun Nuan thought for a moment and realized she had a point.
Her gaze fell on Yu An’s face. "One more thing, my lady. You look too much like the Princess. If the ones who abducted her see you..."
Yu An took the makeup case a Cloud Beast had brought her and gave it a little shake in Chun Nuan’s direction. "Don’t worry. I have a plan."
An hour later, Chun Nuan gasped in amazement as she looked at the completely new female standing before her.
The Yu An before her now looked like a completely different person. No one would ever connect this female with the real Yu An!
"I can accept the change in appearance; I’ve heard of people who can alter their faces."
Chun Nuan asked, puzzled, "But why did her eye color change too?"
Her pupils had gone from black to amber, nearly the same color as the eyes of the Red Fox that Yu An held in her arms.
Yu An gave a sly smile. "They’re colored contacts. I’m a Red Fox Beastman now. If I ever need to transform into my beast form, I’ll just pop into my space and let the Red Fox take my place."
Right before she was knocked out and abducted, the Red Fox had been driven to the brink of collapse by babysitting. It couldn’t stand the pestering of the four Zaizais and had begged Yu An to let it into the space for some peace and quiet.
The Red Fox yelped twice, signaling it was ready. Early the next morning, with all preparations complete, Yu An set out.
The Mist Forest was dangerous, yet plenty of people came and went, so much so that a small path had been worn into the ground.
Yu An followed the path and soon saw other Beastmen.
On the Beastman Continent, females lacked the ability to protect themselves and were usually accompanied by family or a Beast Husband. It was different here.
They possessed spiritual power, and you could occasionally spot a few females traveling alone. Yu An, walking by herself, didn’t stand out at all.
By eavesdropping on the chatter of passersby, Yu An learned that many people went into the Mist Forest to hunt or search for treasure; they just had to get out before dark.
So she pretended to be someone who had just emerged from the Mist Forest and followed a group of other Beastmen toward the nearby Mist City.
Life on the Beast God Continent was clearly better than on the Beastman Continent. The Beastmen here rarely wore clothes made of Beast Skin, opting for garments woven from cotton or linen. If the Beastman Continent was nearly prehistoric, this place was more like an ancient civilization.
The process for entering the city was the same, however: first line up, then pay the city entry fee. Fortunately, the currency was the same in both places, so Yu An didn’t need to bother with exchanging money.
After paying the city entry fee of one silver coin, Yu An entered the city and asked for directions until she found the busiest inn, Fuman Building.
Along the way, there were street vendors with stalls. Yu An spotted some interesting trinkets and bought a few.
"You have a good eye, miss! These are the most popular toys in Mist City right now."
The vendor said enthusiastically, "Even the Dragon Clan Beastmen make special trips to buy from me to take home for their young to play with!"
Yu An toyed with the trinket. An idea struck her, and she remarked casually, "Is that right? In that case, I’d better buy a few more. Anything the Dragon Clan likes must be good stuff."
The vendor became even more animated, eagerly pitching his products. As they chatted, he brought up some recent good news concerning the Dragon Clan.
"The Dragon Clan hasn’t had a new birth in decades, but a while back, good news spread that a young one is about to be born."
The vendor clicked his tongue in wonder. "It’s strange, but ever since that news broke, the Dragon Clan females have been getting pregnant one after another. Everyone says the first one to be born will be a child of fortune. Because of that, the Dragon Clan has tightened security. Any outsiders who want to get in have to go through multiple inspections."
"Really? That’s wonderful news. It makes sense for them to be cautious."
Yu An played along, chatting a little longer until she found out where the Dragon Clan was located, and then she took her leave.
Inns are always bustling with people, making them a good place to gather information. Yu An found a corner table in the main hall, listening to the lively discussions around her as she ate.
Most people who came to Mist City were hoping to make a small fortune in the Mist Forest, so their conversations naturally revolved around it.
"Hey, did you hear? I heard several people died in the Mist Forest last night!"
"What’s so surprising about that? People die in the Mist Forest every day. It’d be more surprising if a day went by *without* anyone dying."
"You don’t get it," the Beastman who had spoken first said with a wave of his hand. Then, he added mysteriously, "The people who died this time were special."
Seeing how secretive he was being, the curiosity of those around him was piqued. Yu An felt her own curiosity stir, and she strained to listen.
The people around him urged him to continue. Seeing he had built up enough suspense, the Beastman finally revealed, "The one who died this time was none other than the Poisonous Insect Granny of the eastern Invincible Alliance!"
His words were met with a series of sharp gasps, and the discussion grew even more intense.
"You’ve got to be kidding. Doesn’t she always travel with heavy protection? How could she have died in the Mist Forest?"
"Exactly! The Poisonous Insect Granny is a major figure. How could she die so easily?"
The Beastman shook his head. "Don’t ask me, I’m just repeating what I heard."
"Someone saw her poison bottle, the one she never goes anywhere without, lying by the edge of the Death Swamp. She must have been swallowed by it."
"That’s the Death Swamp we’re talking about. No one lured inside has ever come out. It doesn’t matter how powerful Granny Gu was."
The crowd sighed, but the topic was soon replaced by fresher gossip. Yu An, however, wasn’t so optimistic.
’The wicked live long lives. Until I see Granny Gu’s corpse with my own eyes, I’ll always worry that she might have survived.’
However, the Beastmen’s latest topic of conversation soon drew her attention.
"I also heard something else about the Invincible Alliance. They say Lord Huang has come out of seclusion and is purging the traitors within the Alliance."
