Chapter 122 - 121: Little Rabbit Care Tutorial

When Lu Tingyan received the message from his cousin, his eyes flickered faintly.
Bai Su noticed something was off. "What’s wrong?"
Lu Tingyan gently rubbed her head. "It’s nothing."
’I just didn’t expect the Bai family to take their complaints all the way to the International Alliance.’
But his cousin, Wen Lan, usually handled these things for him.
It shouldn’t be a big deal.
He turned and rubbed Bai Su’s head. "How many more days will the restaurant be open?"
Bai Su counted on her fingers. "Three days, I think. Why?"
Lu Tingyan nodded slightly. "Yelias is almost finished with the surgical preparations. We’ll do the procedure here once the restaurant closes for the break."
Bai Su froze. "Here?"
Lu Tingyan gave a soft sound of agreement. "We can’t guarantee how many levels you’ll gain after your womb is transplanted back. The rise in your Spiritual Power Level is intricately linked to your emotions. We want to do everything we can to maximize your upgrade."
Bai Su nodded, saying nothing more.
Suddenly, Lu Tingyan pushed her down. "Susu, don’t get distracted. We weren’t finished..."
Bai Su’s face flushed. "You..."
「Meanwhile, in the bedroom-turned-operating-room.」
After stitching up the Clone’s wound, Yelias placed her in a nearby incubation chamber.
Two other incubation chambers were placed in the same area of the room.
Making three in total.
’These were from the surgeries he’d performed over the last day. Based on her post-op progression, the first little rabbit should be waking up soon.’
And just as he predicted, right as he was placing one rabbit into her incubation chamber, another one slowly opened her eyes, her gaze vacant as she stared at the ceiling.
"You’re awake?" Yelias’s voice was gentle and quiet, as if he were afraid of startling the little rabbit.
Clone No. 1’s eyelids fluttered. She looked at his handsome face as her eyes slowly came into focus. "Doctor Yelias?"
Yelias’s smile grew even gentler. He rubbed her head. "It’s me."
Clone No. 1’s face turned bright red. She shyly lowered her head and curled into a tight ball, looking uneasy.
Outside her incubation chamber, several readings on the monitor began to climb.
Yelias saw the data and froze for a moment. "Susu..."
Clone No. 1 looked at him with innocent shyness, her glistening eyes blinking in confusion. "I didn’t mean to... I’m sorry..."
The same readings for the other two incubation chambers quickly began to climb as well.
Yelias quickly realized these spiking readings, which were characteristic of being in heat, weren’t coming from the clones. They were coming from the original Bai Su.
’That little rabbit, Bai Su, is an absolute angel when she’s on her own.’
’It was obvious who was up to no good.’
With a dark expression, Yelias called Lu Tingyan’s terminal.
It took a long time for the call to connect. When it did, panting sounds came through the line. "Spit it out if you have something to say. I’m busy."
Yelias: "..."
"Do you have any idea that changes in the main body’s data affect the clones?"
Lu Tingyan: "..."
"I’m giving you ten minutes. If you’re not finished by then, I’ll use medication to... calm you down."
Lu Tingyan’s voice, full of curses, came through the line. "Ten fucking minutes isn’t even enough for one round, you—"
Yelias calmly ended the call.
Inside the incubation chambers, the little rabbits’ red-line readings were dropping, mostly returning to normal levels. There was only one exception: their heart rates were still too high.
Yelias lowered his gaze, hiding the smile in his eyes.
’He could already imagine how mortified the little rabbit would be when she realized she’d been caught.’
The little rabbits in the chambers were so embarrassed they covered their faces with their drooping ears, looking as if they were on the verge of tears.
The little one at the very end had just come out of surgery and was still asleep, but her face was flushed, and the abnormal readings were slowing her wound’s healing process.
’Fortunately, he’d learned from the surgical practice over the past few days that Bai Su had a self-healing ability.’
’Her wounds would heal rapidly after being inflicted.’
’If he hadn’t measured the healing rate beforehand, Bai Su might have suffered greatly during the actual operation.’
He estimated that enough time had passed. After soothing the little ones in the chambers, he administered a sedative to put them to sleep.
Once that was done, he turned and knocked on the door of the next room.
Lu Tingyan opened the door, his face dark and simmering with anger. "What?"
Yelias replied, "Merely as a doctor, I’m here to teach you some basic daily care for a little rabbit. Dutch Rabbits are very delicate. They aren’t as... resilient as you seem to think."
Lu Tingyan: "..."
Though thoroughly annoyed, he had no choice but to let him in.
Bai Su, already flushed with shame, had transformed back into a chubby, palm-sized bunny. She had her rear in the air as she buried her face in the soft blankets. Her little drooping ears flopped limply on the covers, looking unbearably cute.
Yelias’s brow furrowed slightly as he took in the messy room, and he shot Lu Tingyan a sidelong glance.
Lu Tingyan: "...?"
Yelias scooped up the little rabbit and headed into the bathroom, motioning for Lu Tingyan to follow.
Out of respect, however, he still asked the little rabbit, "Susu, is this okay?"
Bai Su was so mortified her little face turned red. She stammered, "D-do you really have to go to all this trouble?"
’She wanted to die of embarrassment. Her own cub hadn’t even been rescued yet. And here was Yelias, working himself to the bone every day to help her get the womb transplant and force the Medical Alliance to show their hand.’
’And what was she doing? Messing around with Lu Tingyan in the room next door...’

Yelias frowned, a hint of exasperation in his voice. "Susu, you can’t keep indulging him like this. That stupid wolf Lu Tingyan is going to..."

He deliberated for a moment before choosing a gentler phrase. "...is going to break you."

Lu Tingyan cut in, "Alright, stop being so fussy. If Susu’s not talking, that’s a yes. Just get on with the lesson."
Yelias shot him a cold look. "And how would you know she’s agreed?"
A hint of unconscious pride and smugness appeared on Lu Tingyan’s face. "Her silence is her consent. If she didn’t approve, she would have kicked you in the face with her little rabbit legs the moment you reached for her."
’See? Even with so many males competing for her, he was the only one who truly understood Bai Su.’
’How could they possibly compete with him for her affection?’
Yelias’s gaze fell on the tiny rabbit-foot print on Lu Tingyan’s face. A sneer flickered in his eyes. "I see."
He put on a pair of gloves and began to clean the little rabbit’s ears, explaining the process carefully to Lu Tingyan as he worked.
When Lu Tingyan saw water get in her ears, causing her to shake her head in discomfort, he couldn’t help but feel a pang of distress. "Are you sure this is good for her? Susu hates having her ears cleaned."
Yelias shot him a look. "Drooping Ear Rabbits are different from other species. Their ears hang down, so the canals don’t get any air. The sweet fluid they produce after their heat cycle builds up inside."
"This damp fluid can easily cause ear infections. Plus, the scent lingers, and for males, it’s a potent aphrodisiac."
Lu Tingyan fell silent, quietly observing and learning.
After cleaning her ears, Yelias gently rubbed the scruff of the little rabbit’s neck and then wiped the... unidentified fluid from her small face.
The little rabbit squeezed her eyes shut, wishing she could just die. Even Lu Tingyan couldn’t suppress an embarrassed cough.
