Beast World: From Villainess to Cub-Raising Chef
Chapter 51: The Joy of Raising a Rabbit
"Need any help?" Lu Tingyan’s voice suddenly sounded from behind her.
Bai Su instinctively looked at him, then quickly averted her eyes, flustered. "N-Not yet. Just a minute."
Lu Tingyan’s eyes flickered. He moved closer, wrapping his arms around her from behind as she was chopping vegetables. "Why is your face so red? Are you not feeling well?"
Bai Su grew even more sheepish. "It’s nothing, it’s just too hot in the kitchen..."
Whenever the little rabbit lied, her ears would twitch uncontrollably.
Lu Tingyan kissed her rabbit ear, a hint of a smile in his eyes. "Is that so? Your heart is beating very fast, too..."
The air was filled with the scent of honey peaches; there was no way she could fool a tall Snow Wolf with his keen sense of smell.
His gaze darkened a few shades as he suddenly pinned her against the kitchen counter. "Susu, want to try it with me?"
Bai Su noticed the change in his body, and her face turned an even deeper shade of red. "L-Let’s cook first."
Lu Tingyan’s husky voice whispered in her ear, "It won’t interfere. You do your thing, and I’ll do mine."
He gave the little rabbit’s ear a gentle nip.
She let out a cry. With a soft POP, her rabbit tail emerged from behind her. One of her ears flopped down in embarrassment, covering her eyes. "W-Wait a second, I... I..."
"Just try it. It’ll feel good."
"But the children are still..."
"Don’t worry. At this hour, they wouldn’t wake up even if the sky fell."
...
By the time the big Snow Wolf finished bathing the little rabbit and carried her out, her rabbit ears were still trembling. If she hadn’t been starving, she would have collapsed into bed and fallen asleep immediately.
Lu Tingyan knew he had gone too far and didn’t dare say a word. He obediently cupped the little rabbit in his hands, placed her in the kitchen, and let her direct Yodel in making dinner.
When Yodel saw the palm-sized Dutch Rabbit in her beast form, he was almost dumbstruck.
He stole a glance at his leader, who was looking languid and smugly satisfied, and was inwardly speechless.
’As expected, the leader has his own pace.’
’That whole "allergic to females" thing was just an excuse. Those old men worrying about the leader’s marriage was completely pointless!’
Lu Tingyan placed the little rabbit on the table and pointed to the stove. "Yodel, you cook. Follow Susu’s instructions."
The little rabbit’s mouth moved, her voice extremely hoarse. "It’s very simple. Just make a bowl of noodles."
Yodel almost didn’t recognize Bai Su’s voice.
Normally, Bai Su spoke in a bright, crisp manner. Her voice was full of energy, like a little sun.
But hearing it now, it was terribly hoarse and carried a certain indescribable, lingering sensuality. Though the speaker was oblivious, the listener was not, and it was all too easy to let one’s imagination run wild.
But Yodel had served Lu Tingyan for decades and accompanied him on countless battlefields; he naturally knew what was and wasn’t appropriate to think about.
He quickly lowered his head respectfully. "Of course, Miss Bai. You can just speak softly, I can hear you."
The more he said that, the more uncomfortable Bai Su became.
She cleared her throat. "Y-You... pour some water into the pot first. While it’s coming to a boil, peel a snow pear into a stewing bowl and mash it up a bit with a rolling pin."
Yodel nodded. After doing as he was told, he began rapidly mashing the pear pieces with the rolling pin.
His movements were so fast that Lu Tingyan, who was watching from the side, suddenly let out a low chuckle.
Bai Su, of course, knew exactly what image had popped into his head. She kicked him in annoyance and shot him a warning glare before saying to Yodel, "Not so fast... just mash it gently."
Yodel paused, stopped what he was doing, and held the stewing bowl out to Bai Su. "Miss Bai, it’s gotten all bubbly. Is this normal?"
He hadn’t been paying attention. He’d gone so fast that the pear pieces were mashed into a sticky, spattering pulp. A layer of bubbles floated on the surface of the juice, and it didn’t look edible at all.
"Pfft..." Lu Tingyan let out another low chuckle, his Adam’s apple bobbing sensually.
An image quickly flashed through Bai Su’s mind, and she was so mortified that she instinctively wrapped both her ears around her little face, covering her eyes. "Throw it out! Throw it out!"
’I’m one pissed-off bunny!’
’Lu Tingyan, that indecent, sly wolf!’
’How did I never realize he was so improper before?’
’Wasn’t he supposed to be a man of action, all brute force and no technique?’
’What is he doing now?!’
’Seriously, what is he doing?!’
’What kind of filthy things is his mind conjuring up?’
Bai Su was fuming. "I’m not drinking it!"
Lu Tingyan reached out lovingly and nudged the little rabbit’s ears, trying to free her face from their grasp. "Come on, drink it. Look how hoarse your voice is."
Furious, Bai Su bit down on his finger, glaring at him.
’He has the nerve to say that!’
’Whose fault is it that my voice is this hoarse?!’
Yodel instantly smelled blood in the air, coming from Lu Tingyan’s finger.
He instinctively tensed up. "Leader..."
But Lu Tingyan was in a great mood. "It’s nothing. Go on with your work."
Yodel grew even more astonished. "Yes..."
’The Snow Wolf Clan truly is something else. Once they choose a female, they’re loyal to the end. Not even the high and mighty leader of the Snow Wolves is an exception. He’s just smiling, not caring at all that his finger has been bitten open.’
’In the past, anyone who injured him, no matter how small the wound, would have their neck snapped in his jaws.’
’His title as a tyrant wasn’t just for show.’
’He had to be brutal enough to violently suppress the ambitious side branches of the Lu Family.’
Yodel followed Bai Su’s instructions, using another pot to fry some tomatoes. Once they released their juices, he added hot water, brought it to a boil, then put in the noodles and other seasonings, and sprinkled some chopped green onions on top.
Although its overall appearance wasn’t great, it was, at the very least, a bowl of noodles.
Yodel found it all magical. He served the noodles to Bai Su and Lu Tingyan, then excused himself.
Bai Su was still biting Lu Tingyan’s finger.
To be precise, he had pushed his finger into her mouth and was wickedly teasing the little rabbit.
Her cheeks were puffed out and her eyes were welling up with tears; she was completely powerless against him.
A smirk on his lips, Lu Tingyan pulled his finger back and stroked her little head, coaxing her, "Isn’t Susu’s tummy hungry? You can eat this delicious food if you change back to your human form. How about it? Change back for me?"
The little rabbit was hopping mad. She wiped the drool from the corner of her mouth, picked up a cherry from the table, and furiously threw it at his face, squeaking and screeching.
Lu Tingyan froze for a second, then scratched his cheek where the cherry had hit him with his long fingers. He felt a rush of heat as the beastly blood in his veins began to surge again.
’What do I do? My wife is so cute I want to fuck her brains out.’
The little rabbit glared at him warily, cautiously scooted over to the noodle bowl, picked up the fork on the table, and used it to snag a single noodle. She blew on it, stuffed it in her mouth, and began to munch and crunch away.
The palm-sized rabbit had a tiny little mouth and could only eat one noodle at a time without breaking it.
She just kept chewing and chewing, relentlessly...
...and biting and biting...
Yodel’s cooking skills were honestly not that great, but the little rabbit was clearly famished and couldn’t be bothered with such things.
She didn’t even notice her two floppy rabbit ears dangling and swaying slightly by her cheeks, or that the infatuated wolf-man beside her was clutching his heart, about to die from the cuteness.
’So, this is the joy of raising a rabbit, huh?’
’It was like he had opened the door to a whole new world.’
