The System complained indignantly, "But his affection level shouldn’t have dropped that much! Weren’t you the one who saved him that night? And didn’t he seem to like you?"

Bai Su, however, wasn’t bothered. She only asked, "How many points were deducted?"

System: "No points were deducted."

Bai Su was surprised. "No points were deducted?"

The System nodded. "That’s right. Affection you’ve already gained is automatically converted into points for you to use. They aren’t taken back, otherwise, it would make calculating store purchases a mess."

Bai Su breathed a sigh of relief. "Then what are you so angry about? It’s not like we’ve lost anything."

’Besides... if points can’t be deducted, doesn’t that make these male leads like sheep that constantly produce wool, for me to shear again and again?’

’Torment them a bit to lower their affection, and when I’m short on points, I can just farm their affection levels again to cash in.’

’Their affection levels would never be maxed out, which means the points would never end?’

Bai Su’s eyes narrowed. She felt like she’d discovered a new business opportunity.

If the System knew what was going through her mind right now, it would probably feel compelled to light a candle for the four male leads.

It let out a faint sigh and tried to comfort Bai Su. "Don’t be sad. Li Chenlin just doesn’t realize how great you are. Once he does, he’ll fall for you!"

Bai Su nodded, amused. "Don’t worry, I don’t mind."

’He’s a complete masochist. Why should I care?’

Bai Su placed the beef and mutton into a stew pot, letting them cook in advance.

The Federation was located in the north, and by October, the weather had grown much colder. Pre-cooking the beef and mutton and letting them simmer on the stove actually enhanced their flavor.

Besides, these dishes sold much better once winter set in.

As she was busy working, a sudden commotion erupted outside.

It was Li Chenlin, who had forced his way in with his men.

Hearing the commotion, Bai Su rushed out of the kitchen, only to see the guards Lu Tingyan had assigned to protect her home knocked out on the ground.

Li Chenlin advanced menacingly, his eyes fixed on Bai Su.

Bai Su frowned slightly. "What are you doing here again?"

Li Chenlin looked at her in disgust. "I’m not here for you. I’m here for my own blood."

He had sensed his bloodline was nearby last time but had been unable to find it. Moreover, he had been ambushed by a rival, so his strength hadn’t yet recovered.

He had been recuperating ever since he returned.

The moment he saw that Bai Su was the fiery little female he had been obsessed with, he was instantly certain that the little Snake Beastman she had rescued was his child.

He was sterile and had only ever been with that despicable female, Bai Su, once in his life. If he truly had an heir, that woman must have used some trick to conceive.

Hearing the commotion, Bai Xiaolang and Bai Xiaoshe also came out, only to see the menacing Li Chenlin.

Li Chenlin’s eyes also fell on Bai Xiaoshe.

The little one was still so young, his silver hair and golden eyes nearly impossible to conceal.

The night had been too dark; he hadn’t noticed at all.

Bai Xiaoshe had yet to come of age or shed his first skin. There were distinct white snake scales on his neck and arms, and judging by their patterns, he was already a Level 7 Little Beastman.

That despicable female, Bai Su, had actually borne him such an exceptional child.

But that wouldn’t stop him from taking the boy away!

Li Chenlin entered his Beastification State, his snake tail lashing out to coil around Bai Xiaoshe.

Bai Su quickly jumped in front of her children. "You can’t take my children!"

Li Chenlin let out a dark sneer, his eyes on Bai Su as if she were some contemptible villain. "I am the child’s father. Among Snake Beastmen, the young must live with their paternal kin!"

Realizing his intentions, Bai Xiaoshe’s little face fell. "I’m not going with you! You are not my father!"

Li Chenlin scoffed. "Not your father? Then whose bloodline do you think gave you that silver hair and those golden eyes?"

Bai Xiaoshe retorted, "I don’t care! I’m not your son! Big Brother and I are true brothers. How can Beastmen from the same litter have different fathers? Our father is Lu Tingyan!"

Li Chenlin was so enraged he felt his blood boil. He shot a cold glare at Bai Su. "Is this what you’ve been teaching my son?"

A flicker of guilt crossed Bai Su’s eyes. ’What else was I supposed to do?’

’The children would ask, "Mama, Mama, why do we have different forms if we were born at the same time?"’

’She could only lie and tell Bai Xiaoshe he was a genetic mutation.’

’How else was she supposed to explain it?’

’Should she say that their mother had an orgy back in the day, fooling around with multiple partners in a short period, which resulted in four babies in one go, each with a different beast form?’

Bai Su cleared her throat. "Little Snake is my son. He has nothing to do with you! If you don’t leave now, I’m calling the police!"

But Li Chenlin found this strange. He looked at Bai Xiaoshe, then glanced at Bai Xiaolang next to him.

The little one was right—they were somehow connected by blood...

Li Chenlin could also sense his own scent on Bai Xiaolang.

What was going on?

Just how many secrets was this woman, Bai Su, hiding?

This brief delay was all the time Lu Tingyan needed to arrive.

The two men came face-to-face, and neither looked happy to be there.

Lu Tingyan shifted into his Beastman form, shielding Bai Su and the children behind him. "Li Chenlin, what are you doing in the Snow Country?"

Li Chenlin snorted, his tone mocking. "It’s been years. I had no idea Leader Lu had developed a taste for being a cuckold."

Lu Tingyan stared at him coldly. "You’re spouting nonsense."

Li Chenlin sneered. "Spouting nonsense? Bai Xiaoshe is clearly my son, so what bloodline are you trying to claim? Is he one of your Wolf Clan? Or is it that..."

"...Leader Lu has never seen a child with such talent, so you’re willing to falsely claim him, even if he’s a Snake Child?"

Lu Tingyan said with disdain, "Think before you speak. I wouldn’t have acknowledged this child if I hadn’t already run a genetic test."

He had run a genetic test as soon as they found the Snake Child, wanting to know who Bai Xiaoshe’s father was.

To his surprise, Bai Xiaoshe’s genes were a match with his own.

Although their spiritual power and Beastman forms were completely different, the genetic markers indicated a father-son relationship.

Li Chenlin’s eyes narrowed, sensing something was off. "The genetic test showed he’s your son? But he clearly carries my blood, and even his Companion Ability is identical to mine."

At these words, Lu Tingyan also found the situation bizarre.

The two children watched the two men with blank expressions, their own emotions unreadable.

They didn’t need to know who their fathers were. They only needed to be sure that Bai Su was their mother.

As long as they were with their mother, they would be fine. When they were a little older, they could protect her and stop these males from fighting over her.

Lu Tingyan and Li Chenlin both turned to look at Bai Su at the same time.

It seemed only Bai Su could answer these questions.

Bai Su cleared her throat, a guilty look on her face. "Why are you all looking at me? I told you, I lost a year of my memories. Asking me is useless."

Li Chenlin knew Lu Tingyan was too proud and arrogant to lie.

But he also had absolute confidence in his ability to sense his own bloodline.

The two men looked at Bai Su’s abdomen, their gazes searching.

"A trip to the hospital will clear everything up."
