Becoming a God Starts with Acting
Chapter 488: [Crimson Inheritance] (7)
"The card shows that I’m very wealthy, but because my father’s illegal dealings were exposed, I became poor and ended up with a huge amount of debt..." the girl spoke timidly.
Only then did Silvanus realize that everyone’s gazes had gathered on him. He couldn’t help but hold his son tighter, instinctively shrinking back a little.
Everyone had also noticed that Silvanus was the only person who hadn’t had a card from beginning to end. He was also the only one who had a family member, and that child didn’t look like an ordinary person either.
After all, they had all been unconscious from the start and then suddenly woke up, but the child had been carried downstairs by the butler from the upper floor and reminded not to let him run around...
Would he become an artist like them? Or something else?
Silvanus lowered his eyes, and a tear rolled down his cheek without any hindrance. "I only wanted my son to have a better life. The 10,000-dollar deposit made me want to come here and try completing this mysterious game. If I had known beforehand... if I had known that we would really die, I would never have brought Neo to this place..."
His tears kept falling, making his already handsome face appear fragile. Combined with the small child in his arms and their current situation, it truly made people unable to help but sympathize.
The group looked at each other, clearly realizing that something was unusual. This person was not like them. He had his own life in this world, he had a child, and he seemed more like an NPC that had been added in.
[...]
[He can cry whenever he wants like that? Not everyone has that skill.]
[That works too? So that’s the reason he made the card disappear?]
[Actually, ever since the card vanished I already felt something was strange. How could he make an item disappear so easily? He’s a newcomer, he doesn’t have any credits, and he doesn’t have any props, right?]
[Definitely some big shot pretending to be a newbie.]
[Buying a second identity isn’t cheap at all... I wonder if it’s that guy ranked first on the wealth leaderboard.]
[He’s busy doing business.]
[But I wonder what his purpose is in pretending to be an NPC.]
[Maybe the feeling of deceiving others makes him happy?]
[That’s pretty perverted.]
[Whatever. I’m really looking forward to him being exposed, hahaha.]
Silvanus could not see these comments at the moment. If he could, he would definitely have reminded these dear viewers to take a good look at themselves before calling someone else perverted.
Just then, a handkerchief was suddenly held out in front of Silvanus. Nick spoke with a hint of concern, "Stop crying. I’ll protect you."
Silvanus raised his eyes, meeting Nick’s gaze, then lowered them again to look at the handkerchief in his hand. But just as he was about to take it, Neo hurriedly wiped his face instead, firmly declaring, "Daddy, I can protect you too!"
Silvanus: "..."
[Hahaha, a strange triangle I’ve never seen before.]
[Go Neo! I really prefer a single dad over a dad who already has a wife!]
After Neo’s interruption, Silvanus simply lifted his sleeve to wipe away his tears. He looked at Nick, gave a gentle smile, and said somewhat embarrassedly, "Thank you. I was just too frightened... I’m fine."
Nick looked at his pale, bloodless face and truly couldn’t see how he was fine at all.
"I’m Nick. I introduced myself earlier, but you haven’t said what your name is," Nick asked with a smile.
Silvanus looked at Nick for a moment, then quickly averted his gaze. Finally, he said softly, "I’m Silvanus."
"Oh, that’s quite a special name." Nick scratched his head. "I mean, you don’t see people with a name like that very often."
Silvanus pressed his lips together. He lowered his head slightly and said nothing.
Nick was about to say something else when a mocking voice suddenly rang out.
"Haha, why are you paying attention to that useless guy? Or do you think his slightly different identity can help you survive?"
Silvanus looked over and saw a young man whose hair was styled straight up, revealing his entire face, including his forehead. His hair had been dyed blue, even though it was certain that wasn’t his natural color. His eyes were also a deep blue, like the sea.
He wore numerous earrings on his ears, and there were piercings on his lips and eyebrows as well. His outfit was leather, decorated with many metal studs. His narrow eyes tilted slightly upward at the corners, and the arrogance in his attitude was completely undisguised. He had been the only one who didn’t introduce himself while everyone else was speaking, and he was also among the few who hadn’t been frightened by the bizarre and bloody scene earlier.
With clothing and a hairstyle like that, he still wasn’t entirely unpleasant to look at. It was clear that he had a good figure and a fairly handsome face.
Noticing Silvanus’s gaze, he immediately glared back before leisurely standing up. "Haha, life out there is already too boring. Maybe I’m the only one who actually feels happy to have come here. You guys just keep struggling."
As for him, of course he would survive. Jax flicked aside a nonexistent strand of hair on his forehead before turning and heading upstairs.
Only then did Silvanus notice that the eccentric young man’s hands were also wrapped in leather gloves, leaving almost no skin exposed.
"So arrogant!"
Many people were clearly dissatisfied with Jax’s attitude.
Daniel, who had temporarily become the leader of the group, spoke up, "We should head back to our rooms as well. It’s already late."
Remembering the butler’s warning, the group quickly began to move.
They had already agreed to stay on the second floor. The only reason they weren’t staying on the first floor was because there were no guest rooms there.
When they reached the second floor, they saw that there were exactly six rooms. All of them were wide open at the moment. And Jax, the one who had said he wanted to return to his room first, was still standing outside, showing no sign of stepping into any room.
Silvanus was still holding Neo in his arms, and his gaze quickly swept across the rooms. There were only six rooms, as if the castle had already known that only six people would survive the first round of selection.
From this angle, with the doors open like that, the entire layout of each room could be clearly seen.
The first room had a very cute pink design. Even the carpet was peach pink, not to mention the curtains and bed sheets. On the tea table sat a beautiful vase of pink tulips, resting there quietly.
The second room was the complete opposite, fixed in shades of dark gray and black. Inside, there was even a computer emitting a constant glow, though it was unclear what was being displayed on the screen.
A computer?
Silvanus couldn’t help wondering if that meant they could try contacting other "people" in this world.
