Chapter 508: [Crimson Inheritance] (27)

Looking at how clingy Neo was toward Silvanus, who would have guessed that just two seconds earlier he had been wearing a cold expression and completely ignoring Nick?

Knowing that Silvanus was already far from normal, Nick was certain that Neo wasn’t normal either. Worrying about the safety of this father and son was practically meaningless. Well, no—at least he was genuinely worried about Silvanus. As for Neo... even with a face that resembled Silvanus’s, Nick simply couldn’t feel close to him.

Just as Nick was lost in his wandering thoughts, Silvanus sat down in a chair. The chair scraped slightly against the floor, producing a noticeable sound. It wasn’t particularly unpleasant, but Nick still turned toward Silvanus out of instinct.

He saw Silvanus raise a hand. At the same moment, a notebook resembling a diary appeared in his grasp. Its cover was coated in dust and carried a distinct sense of age, as though it could never truly be cleaned.

[He’s not even trying to hide anything anymore?]

[What surprises me is that he was clearly so wary of Neo before. Why is he acting like this now?]

[Maybe they’ve already passed the dangerous part, so he feels there’s no need to be overly cautious anymore?]

[I think all of this is part of a plan.]

[A plan, my ass. Can you stop treating Silvanus like some kind of god? He’s just an ordinary person, hahaha.]

[This is the first time I not only want Silvanus to get slapped in the face, but his fans too, hahaha.]

[In the end, it’ll be the people looking down on Silvanus who get slapped in the face. Trust me.]

With just a few comments, the chat once again erupted into a heated argument.

There were certainly many viewers supporting Silvanus, but there were also plenty who saw him as a thorn in their side—perhaps even more.

By then, Nick had already walked over behind Silvanus. Meanwhile, Silvanus opened the diary and continued reading the remaining entries.

The more he read, the deeper his frown became.

Because the contents were truly disgusting. What began as behavior gradually straying beyond the boundaries of human morality eventually escalated into something almost beyond redemption.

Because of her beautiful appearance, Daisy attracted a great deal of attention. Among those who noticed her, not all were as useless and twisted as "Silvanus."

"Silvanus" might have resorted to various foolish schemes to get close to Daisy, but the others were different. They were confident, domineering, and powerful enough to leave Daisy—a normal girl with no one to rely on—with nowhere left to turn.

Everything was even recounted through "Silvanus’s" own lens in a way that made it seem almost effortless.

In order to possess Daisy for themselves, those people joined forces. At first, it was merely an outlet for their unrequited desire. Later, it became abuse. In the end, it continued until Daisy died with her eyes unable to close in peace, just as her child was about to be born.

"Silvanus" had a change of heart at the last moment when he realized Daisy’s child was still alive. He took the initiative to conceal the child’s existence and raise it himself.

The incident never caused even the slightest ripple.

The families of those wealthy individuals had more than enough money to silence Daisy’s family forever, enough to bury their utterly inhuman crimes.

With such a deep-seated grudge, the fate of those people after entering this castle seemed predetermined. There was no doubt that they were destined to die.

The moment this thought surfaced in Silvanus’s mind, he seemed to sense something unusual within the blood vessels running beneath his abdomen. It felt as though something was constantly forming and growing there, something with a pulse, lively and vigorous, openly proclaiming its existence.

Silvanus immediately tossed the diary to Nick behind him before lifting up his shirt.

At once, his brows furrowed slightly, while inwardly he struggled to keep himself from screaming.

Because at that moment, something strange had appeared on his abdomen, slightly above and to the left of his navel. Crimson veins bulged beneath his pale skin. At their center was a tiny lump of flesh that had only just begun to take shape. It still lacked any clear form, resembling a raspberry, albeit a smaller one.

The comparison only made Silvanus’s mood grow heavier.

He had known Daisy must have been plotting something when she fed him earlier. As expected, this was where she had been waiting for him.

She might not kill him immediately, but sooner or later she would. It didn’t matter whether he truly helped her kill the others or not. Daisy simply wanted to see him suffer—to see all of them suffer.

After finishing the diary and learning what Daisy had gone through, Silvanus genuinely sympathized with her.

But only to that extent.

Because he was not the one who had created Daisy’s nightmare. This was nothing more than the script of a deadly dungeon intent on claiming all of their lives.

In Daisy’s story, she was the victim.

But in the story of those who had been dragged into this bizarre world, Daisy was the murderer.

"Silvanus, what’s wrong with your stomach?!"

Nick’s startled cry rang out at that moment. Clutching the diary tightly in his hand, he hurried forward and looked down at Silvanus’s abdomen. However, before he could reach out to touch it, Silvanus had already pulled his shirt back down.

Nick instinctively raised his eyes and immediately met Silvanus’s deep, unfathomable gaze.

He paused for a moment before quickly saying, "I’m truly sorry for everything Daisy went through, Silvanus. But if you keep staying close to her, she’s going to kill you."

Silvanus was sitting in the chair, so he had to tilt his chin up to look at Nick.

The two faced each other. Suddenly, Silvanus smiled.

"I won’t die. None of us will die. The ones who will die are those godless fools out there."

Nick was left speechless.

"What are you talking about...? Aren’t you in love with Daisy?"

Nick had not forgotten Silvanus’s devoted appearance. Now, facing him like this, all the different expressions Silvanus had shown surfaced one after another in Nick’s mind. He could no longer tell which one was the real Silvanus, what Silvanus’s true motives were, or what Silvanus actually wanted.

Hearing Nick’s words, Silvanus couldn’t help but laugh. Covering his mouth with one hand, he revealed only a pair of moist eyes fixed intently on Nick.

"In love with Daisy?"

One hand rose to clutch his own collar tightly. An unnatural flush suddenly spread across his face.

"How could I possibly love anyone? My heart—even my soul—belongs to Him alone... the great Erebus."

[I feel like just saying that name is enough to make him climax...]

[Would talking like this get the chat banned? Hahaha.]

[Looks like Silvanus is genuinely loyal to his God, but I swear I’ve never heard of Erebus before.]

[Probably some new God. Either way, I doubt He’s anything impressive.]

[But does he really believe Erebus will save him? I’m genuinely looking forward to seeing how this turns out, hahaha.]

[Now I understand why Silvanus favors Nick so much. Is he trying to spread his faith? Trying to make Nick a believer of Erebus too?]

[But I think Nick wants to become a believer of Silvanus instead...]
