Chapter 209: Bringing offerings
Seoha’s POV
The smirk doesn’t leave the face of the one who looks like the oldest of the three as I stand in front of their table.
The coffee shop is moving with activities, but with my goal in mind, my senses dull them all out.
I don’t care about the sweet smell of strawberry shortcake or the appetizing aroma of chocolate.
"Will you help me?" I ask again after a few seconds of silence.
The second one with dark hair says something I don’t understand and I curl my hands into fists by side; I didn’t think this through.
They are foreigners and I don’t understand their language, maybe I can use my phone to communicate with them.
"He said you can sit" the one with blonde hair says in Korean, pointing at the chair in front of them with his left hand.
"Oh. Thank you" the tightness in my chest eases when I realize he can speak Korean. So I take the seat, placing my hands in my lap to keep them near my stomach.
To keep them near my pup.
"Now how can we help you?" the blonde asks, tilting his head as he monitors my face and I gulp nervously.
"I’m Shin Seoha" I introduce myself again, "we heard you say it already. I’m Kai. These are my older brothers, Damien and Elias" he points to them one by one.
"Nice to meet you" I bow my head, giving them a deep and respectful bow.
"Isn’t he so cute" the one named Damien says in Korean and I try my best not to show my annoyance with his words.
I don’t want his compliments, he makes me feel uncomfortable.
"What can we do for you? We have a goal to meet and don’t have time to waste" the one by the name Elias says.
He sounds cold and as if he dislikes my presence even without knowing why I’m here.
"I’m aware that Taesan reached out to you" I start and Kai nods his head, eyeing me carefully.
"I-I would like to ask the details of the meeting-"
"We don’t disclose client’s wishes, Seoha" Damien cuts me off, suddenly sounding more serious and finally dropping the unsettling smirk.
"But Taesan is my mate, I should be told what I need to know" I try to argue.
"We don’t care, leave if you don’t have anything to say" Elias says and I squeeze my hands on my lap.
I don’t get up or leave and the three of them chose to not acknowledge me, they look away from me.
"What if-" I start and one of them sighs audibly as if their patience is running thin.
Gods like to receive sacrifices...right?
"What if I have something to offer?" I ask and all three of them finally give me their attention, looking at me with curiosity.
"And what do you have, omega?" Damien asks leaning forward and resting his elbow on the table. His dark eyes are devoid of the playfulness.
Unlike Taesan whose darkness I crave...this one scares me.
"I am the son of Shin Yechan, the rivaling clan of the Kangs" I properly introduce myself and recognition flash across their faces.
It hurts to use that man’s name, but if it would give me what I need, I will use it with my head held up.
"Shin...ah, the legendary hoarder. That man irritates our father" Damien’s playful smile returns and I nod.
I know nothing about my father but I continue to act like I do by keeping a straight face.
"Okay, what do you have to offer?" he asks and I let out a shaky breath before speaking.
"I have my father’s money and properties to offer...he has a closed off land that’s rich with gold. I’ll give that to you too" I say.
"And what do you want?" Elias asks. His eyes are scanning me and they feel like he’s calculating me...
"I want to know what my mate wants from you" I say and Damien looks at his brothers.
They stay quiet like they’re having a silent conversation for a few minutes before looking at me again.
"Taesan wants his grandfather gone"
"Then do it"
"He has nothing to offer"
"I’ll give you everything, all the deeds, all the property...please just..." I plead and Damien lets out a small laugh.
"Your desperation is refreshing" Elias says in a quiet voice. The three brothers look at each other again; this time they start to converse in English and I just watch their mouths.
"Are you sure you want to do this?" Kai asks quietly, his blue eyes are still fixed on me while his brothers talk.
"Yes" I give my answer.
"You know you can take the property and build a new life somewhere else. You can be a god in your own world" he says and I shake my head.
What’s the point of building a life with that old man still breathing? He’ll try to break us, he’ll hurt other people and try to take everything from me.
"I want to stay in this world" I say and he examines me again.
"What do you say?" Kai asks his brother in Korean and they explain what they were talking about to him.
"I hope I find an omega that loves me like he loves that man" Damien grins and his brother, Kai says something that sounds like a curse word.
"Give it up. People like us are not made to love" Elias says flatly and it only makes Damien’s eyes glimmer.
"Mom and dad are like us and they love each other...besides, you have that sweet sweet omega waiting for you at home" Damien licks his lips.
"I’ll kill you if you mention Noah again" Elias says with a sigh.
Have they forgotten about me?
"Are we really having this conversation in public, in Korean and in front of a client?" Kai asks as he tries to hide the spark of amusement in his eyes.
"So...will you help us?" I ask, interrupting their banter and getting all of their attentions again.
"Hmm, we will help you by the year end" Damien says and I release the breath I was holding.
"Thank you" I bow my head deeply in appreciation.
"But keep your promise, Shin. We don’t like it when things don’t go our way" Damien warn me in a chilling tone.
"Y-yes" I stutter.
It’s over? Just like that?
I wait to see if they’ll say anything else, but they have gone back to arguing, so I get up and leave.
I feel their eyes on my back as I walk out, and just as I cross the door, I bump into a familiar body that brings tears to my eyes.
