Seoha’s POV

He knows about the pregnancy...and he’s crying?

Taesan drops his head on my shoulder, and I stay completely frozen as his silent cries turn into a sob that fills the car.

"S-San" I stutter his name, placing my hand on his shoulders as he continues to sob on top of my body.

My brows are knit together in a frown; my head feels heavier than it should and my chest is tight with different choking emotions.

This was the least of all my expectations. I didn’t expect him to know, and I didn’t expect him to cry.

He’s supposed to be angry at me...he’s supposed to ask me to get out of his life...why is he crying?

I open our bond and I’m immediately overwhelmed with a rush of emotions. His soft cries don’t even communicate half of the pain he’s feeling.

The closest pain to how he feels through our bond was when my mom died. The pain of heartbreak, betrayal, guilt, hate and longing.

I hold him to myself, I stay quiet even though I want to apologize for hurting him, I want to tell him that I misunderstood.

"Taesan..."

"Is it because- is it because I’m a mess?" he cries and my heart breaks. I can’t hold back the tears from my own eyes.

"It’s not like that-" I say with a choked-up voice.

"Is it because I’m like him?" he asks and every word I was going to say dies on my tongue.

"What?" I ask and he lifts his head to look me in the eyes.

His eyes are red, veins are sticking out on his temple, and a mix of his tears and snot drop to my face...but I don’t care right now.

"Is it because I’m like this? Because I’m crazy and damaged?" he asks and wraps on hand around my neck. I can only stare up at his face in awe.

Why would he ever think that?

"Because I kill for a living? Because I have so much blood on my hands? I told you all these before you fucking dug yourself in!" he shouts and I burst into tears, but he keeps yelling.

"Is it because I’m going to end up like him?" he asks again. His eyes are slowly growing wild as he asks and I shake my head.

"You’re not like him" I cry out.

"You don’t get to leave me Seoha, you don’t get to make me love you and then leave...y-you can’t" I grab his face and force his lips on mine to silence him.

The words he’s saying are tearing me apart. He’s not like that man, and even if he is...I’ll die by his side.

Maybe I’m starting to understand why mom went to my father...but Taesan is better than my father.

"I’m never leaving you" I say when we pull apart for air.

"I will never let you leave even if you want to" he says, leaning in to kiss me so hard that our teeth clash and I taste blood on both of our tongues.

We break the kiss and he rests his head on my shoulder again while I hold on to his wide shoulders. We stay like this, we’re not kissing or moving, we’re only breathing each other’s air in.

There’s so much that we need to talk about. There’s so many misunderstandings between us and I’m scared now.

"Don’t leave me, Seoha...I won’t be able to survive it" he says and I shut my eyes.

"I wasn’t leaving" I confess and he looks into my eyes, looking from one eye to the other as if he’s trying to find something in them.

"Th-then why didn’t you tell me about?" he asks softly as his eyes drop to my belly.

"I just found out too...I didn’t know. I only found out today at the hospital" I explain and his eyes return to my face.

"How do you know about it?" I ask him.

"Yuki told me"

"Yuki?" I gasp.

"Yes, she knew...she said grandfather also knows" he whispers and kisses my lips. "If he ever tries coming near you, I’ll murder him. Consequences be fucked" he growls.

The aggressiveness in his tone tells me that he means it...how do I tell him that I met grandfather without causing trouble?

"Let’s go home, I miss you" I say and he sits up.

"Sit with me" he says and I nod. Taesan gets out of the car. My alpha holds the door open for me to come out.

I don’t bother to look around; I just step out and wrap my arms around my body.

"Come here" Taesan helps me into the passenger’s seat before he goes around the car and slides into the driver’s seat.

I don’t take my eyes off his face as he drives us home, and he...he keeps one hand on the steering wheel and the other one on my thigh.

His eyes are red-rimmed from crying and he’s holding me tight enough to feel his fingers digging into my thigh.

He drives us home without taking his hand off me, it’s almost as if he thinks I would disappear if he doesn’t hold me.

"You’re driving slowly" I say without thinking and he doesn’t take his eyes off the road, he just holds me even tighter.

"Our pup is here; I have to be careful" he says.

When we get home, he gets out of the car and carries me bridal style, taking me straight to his room.

Taesan places me on the bed and takes off my shoes, throwing them aside one by one, and when he’s done, he takes off my pants.

He pulls it down my waist before pulling my shirt over my head. He doesn’t stop taking clothes off me until I’m completely naked.

The alpha doesn’t touch.

He just stays by the bed on his knees, watching me with those dark eyes like he’s studying me.

"You swear you won’t leave?" he asks and I nod, suddenly tired from all that crying and bravery.

"To the goddess" I affirm and fall asleep.
