BNHA: Spiritual Aura
Chapter 327: Waste a single second.

“This is definitely one of the best barbecues I've ever tasted…” Leaning back in her chair, Jiro couldn't help but comment with visible delight in her tone, completely satisfied.
“Saito should open a restaurant…” Uraraka commented with a slightly swollen stomach, completely satisfied.
“It's not that big a deal; I simply learned a couple of tricks from Mrs. Yoshiko; it's nothing special.” Kai spoke while typing on his computer. Mina turned to look at Momo sitting beside Kai and commented with a small smile.
“You're very lucky, Yao Momo… You'll get to eat this forever…”
“Fufu, I really am lucky.”
Momo commented with a cheerful smile while looking at Kai, who pushed away the chubby Salem, who wanted to lie down on his keyboard. At that moment, Aizawa, visibly in a good mood, stood up from his seat and spoke in a calm voice. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
“Alright, young ones, you've eaten, so clean everything up and go to sleep. Training starts at the same time tomorrow. Those who failed the final exam need to meet me in the cafeteria, you have extra classes.”
“No…”
Toru let out a pained sigh upon hearing Aizawa, which made Mina laugh. For his part, Kai stood up from his spot and, while the cats jumped onto his shoulders, commented in a calm voice.
“A deal is a deal; I'll leave the rest to you all. I'm going to sleep.”
“I can't move after eating so much…” Kaminari couldn't help but comment in amusement, at which point Momo, Mina, and Jiro stood up with big smiles. Mina, visibly enthusiastic, looked at the others and commented with a playfully superior smile.
“Good luck, guys, this impressively beautiful kitchen assistant is very tired. Kisses.”
“I should have joined them when I had the chance…”
Toru couldn't help but comment disconsolately, since, although she could have followed Momo, she still felt a little uncomfortable around Kai, so she had decided to stay behind and was now regretting it.
…
“See you all, I'll be in my room.” Upon entering the building, Kai talked in a calm voice while opening his laptop again. Mina commented with a smile, raising one of her hands in a wave.
“Rest up, Saito, and thanks for the meat; it was really delicious.”
“You're welcome.” Kai replied calmly without looking back, then walked toward the boys' rooms. Watching Kai disappear, Jiro yawned for a moment, then asked, visibly tired.
“I'm dead. Shall we go up?”
“Oh, I forgot something, go ahead, I'll be up in a moment.” Momo commented with a smile, to which Mina and Jiro nodded calmly before starting to walk together amid yawns, and Mina spoke tiredly.
“Don't be long, Yao Momo.”
“It'll only be a moment, don't worry.” Momo replied with a smile as she took out her phone.
Soon, the girls disappeared from her sight, at which point Momo opened an app on her phone that allowed her to see all the cameras in the camp. After confirming the position of each person, Momo gave instructions to her personal AI, ARES, to keep her informed of everyone's movements, then put away her phone with a subtle smile.
Immediately afterward, Momo moved swiftly toward the boys' rooms, quickly managing to reach Kai's room. Opening the unlocked door, Momo entered the room, finding Kai sitting on his bed typing on his laptop in complete concentration. Confused, Kai couldn't help but look at his beautiful girlfriend and ask.
“Did something happen?”
“Yes, something very important.” Momo replied with a mischievous smile, and with a quick movement she removed her blouse, then unclasped her bra and let it fall to the floor while adding.
“I'm suffering from a severe case of 'Kaisium' deficiency, and I need an urgent recharge; it's a matter of life or death…”
“Well, well, what do we have here? The great class representative sneaking into the boys' section. How naughty.” Kai couldn't help but close his computer and comment in a playful tone. Momo took off her shorts and underwear, leaving herself completely naked, then climbed onto the bed while commenting in a lustful voice.
“It's just that my husband was so amazing today that I couldn't contain myself…”
“I suppose then I have to fulfill my conjugal duties…”
Kai set his laptop on a nearby nightstand and commented while taking off his shirt. Like a cat in heat, Momo looked at her beloved with sparkling eyes before jumping toward him and beginning to kiss him passionately.

In the middle of the night, Kai was sitting on the bed with his chest uncovered, carefully reading the information that Sage presented to him on invisible holographic screens. After reading all the information, Kai couldn't help but let out a small sigh and communicated with the beautiful invisible fairy sitting on his shoulder through their mental connection.
[I imagine you found nothing.]
[That's right, master. These dream journals barely served to confirm the things that Nejire and Momo had already told us, but nothing new. I was also investigating those subtle fluctuations in the girls' 'silhouettes,' especially Momo's, but beyond measuring them, I got nothing from that.] The beautiful fairy let out a small sigh and replied while shaking her head. Kai soon replied in a calm voice.
[Well, there's no reason to be so disappointed, Sage. We knew this would be a complicated mystery. For now, clear a space in my schedule for a full night at the camp. I want us to focus on measuring the fluctuations in the 'silhouettes' of all the students, both from Class A and B. I have a small hypothesis, and I want data to either rule it out or continue working on it.]
[You want to use your black-and-white vision all night, master? It will be exhausting.] Sage looked at her master and asked, concerned. Kai nodded and explained.
[It will be, but it's necessary. There's something that caught my attention powerfully when Momo told me about her ability. She said it only occurs during REM sleep, it doesn't happen in any other sleep phase, and what happens during the REM phase of sleep?]
[It's the phase with the greatest brain activity, so dreaming occurs and the brain processes information and consolidates memories…] Sage replied, somewhat confused, at which point a smile formed on her master's face, which led her to open her eyes wide and add with realization.
[Memories are consolidated! That's it! If our soul-spirit-body hypothesis is correct, the soul is nothing more than a backup of all the experiences of the body and spirit. Therefore, during the REM sleep phase is when the connection between the spirit and the soul is strongest!]
[Exactly.] Kai sent a telepathic message to his reliable assistant and, while stretching his finger to caress her face, explained with a satisfied smile.
[That's why I want to examine all the students, especially Midoriya, and then I want to use Melissa Shield—the only person without a quirk that we know, to compare data. This ability might be directly related to the Soul, just as my Haki is, so it's logical that it occurs during REM sleep, the moment of greatest 'connection', and I want to see how Momo and Nejire differ from the others.]
[Is there a particular reason to compare data with Melissa Shield? I don't think having or not having a quirk makes much of a difference in this situation.]
Sage soon asked with a beautiful smile on her face while pressing her head against her master's finger like a spoiled cat. Kai replied in a more thoughtful tone while stopping his caressing of Sage, who gave a small pout.
[Well, apart from the obvious comparison of someone without a quirk against someone with one, she makes me quite curious. When I saw her on I-Island, I could see that her 'silhouette' was by far the weakest, yet at the same time, the most 'firm.' Her fluctuations were quite scarce and only occurred when her emotions were strongly stirred, so I want to know, does that have to do with the fact that she has no quirk, or is it due to something else?]
[I see… David Shield and his daughter are currently arranging everything to move permanently to Japan, and All Might is accompanying them, so they will likely arrive at the end of summer vacation. Just in time for the new semester at UA.] Sage explained as her pout faded with a sigh. Kai nodded, satisfied, and sent a telepathic message back.
[Then have everything ready. First we'll simply observe without saying anything, and then we'll take advantage of the situation of giving her a quirk to run tests and so on.]
[Understood, master.] Sage replied with a smile. Kai nodded, satisfied, before sending a telepathic message in a more serious tone.
[Perfect, then let's get back to what's important, how is security?]
[All detection systems and defensive weapons are fully operational, master. I've already run a new check on their control systems, operating AIs, and even used robots to conduct thorough inspections. I've also put into operation the latest improvements we worked on, and they're running without issues.]
Sage replied in a more serious tone while creating several holographic screens in [In] state for her master. Kai began reviewing the information at great speed while asking.
[How is everyone's condition? Have the crisis simulations been completed?]
[Their condition is perfect, and many of the simulations have concluded. It was demonstrated that there is a 12% risk of losing the external associates with our current action plan. I am currently running simulations to develop routes and action plans that reduce the risk.] Sage replied seriously while displaying specific data. Kai looked at the data and couldn't help but frown, ordering seriously.
[Relocate Mrs. Yoshiko and Rin, that 6% casualty risk doesn't sit well with me. Nothing above 3% is acceptable for them, especially for Mrs. Yoshiko.]
[That level of risk was projected because Rin doesn't have an Accomplice, and it's likely that she or Mrs. Yoshiko's other family members—who also only have basic protection—will be attacked, and it's highly probable she would intervene, putting herself at risk.]
[We need to rethink that. Mrs. Yoshiko is a very important risk vector… For now, focus on the husband and increase security for her children and grandchildren. It would be difficult to find someone as trustworthy if she decides to leave. Also, increase surveillance on Rin. I want to give her an Accomplice.] Kai ordered in a serious tone, to which Sage quickly nodded seriously.
[Right away, master.]
[Also, take advantage of running more simulations and start sketching out some additional routes and plans for moving in case the girls end up injured. It's possible that if things get complicated, Momo will ask me to save the students, and things could get complicated.]
Kai looked at the data Sage was showing him and continued giving orders, but before Sage could respond, a delicate hand reached Kai's free shoulder. Soon a soft, affectionate voice resonated in Kai's ear.
“Are you still working even now, darling? When do you plan to sleep…?”
“I slept for a while; now it's time to shower and head to the camp.” Kai turned to look at Keiko, who was leaning against his shoulder, and whispered with a smile. Keiko, still half-asleep, made a small pout and complained.
“We wanted you to go to therapy so you could relax a little more, but we got the complete opposite… You're working as if you can't afford to waste a single second.”
“That's more or less what's happening. I have a feeling something will happen at the camp, so I don't want to leave a single gap—I don't want any of you to get hurt.” Kai explained in a soft voice while caressing Keiko's beautiful face. At that moment, Nemuri arrived at Kai's other shoulder and commented in a worried voice.
“Darling… You don't have to wear yourself out so much to protect us… You've already done more than enough. We're stronger than ever and armed to the teeth, no one in this world can hurt us easily… Not before you can arrive to save us…”
“I know, but I still can't calm down. If only I could make the inner palace work…” Kai commented with a hint of frustration in his tone, at which point Yumiko crawled over to Kai and rested her head on one of his legs before commenting in a serious voice.
“That's not true…”
“What do you mean…?” Kai couldn't help but look at the beautiful blue-haired woman and asked in a more serious tone. Yumiko showed a warm smile and explained in a soft, melodic voice.
“Something you already know. Even if you had that ability, you'd still be paranoid and would start working on a Plan A, B, C, and so on through Z in case it failed or someone slipped through. Who knows what else you'd come up with?… The Accomplice already gives us more security than anything else in the world. It's a terrifying ability that you've obsessively improved for years, yet you remain unsatisfied, and when you finally create that palace, the same thing will happen.”
“M*m is right, Kai-chan. The problem isn't that we're not safe enough; the problem is you…”
At that moment, Nejire crawled over and lay down on Kai's free leg, then commented while exchanging glances between her beloved and her mthr. Keiko soon rested her head on Kai's shoulder and commented in a soft voice, almost like a whisper.
“That's right, you will never be satisfied, no matter what you do…”
Nemuri let out a small sigh and also rested her head on Kai's other shoulder before commenting in a more serious and reflective tone.
“That is your problem, darling. No matter what you do, you will never feel that you have done enough to protect us—you are terrified of failing. That is why we wanted you to go to therapy, because sooner or later it will be too much for you. You'll end up consuming yourself, and we cannot allow that to happen.”
Kai looked at his beautiful girlfriends, who were watching him with concern, and asked in a more serious tone.
“Interesting choice of words; they remind me of a certain therapist… He was talking to you, wasn't he?”
