Chapter 22: The Black Dragon

Then Arya went behind a high-ranking adventurer party because now, if he wanted to go deeper, he had to clear the dungeon. That was why Arya followed them. It made things much easier for him since they were also heading downward.

Arya did not do anything.

He simply stayed behind and watched them fight the monsters.

After they successfully cleared the 13th floor, they continued to the lower level.

Soon, they reached the entrance to the 14th floor.

There was a large gate and a staircase leading downward.

Arya quietly followed them from behind.

When they reached the 14th floor gate, they found a safe area. No monsters could spawn there, making it a perfect place to rest.

The party decided to stop and recover before continuing.

However, Arya had no reason to rest.

Without making a sound, he entered the 14th floor alone.

As soon as he arrived, he saw many monsters roaming the area.

Arya slowly walked past them.

Most monsters could sense mana, but Arya did not have any mana.

Because of that, none of the monsters noticed his presence.

After walking for a few minutes, he finally reached the teleportation area.

Then, halfway through, the white line suddenly stopped at the center of the teleportation area.

When Arya stepped onto it, the teleportation array began to glow on its own.

Before Arya could even think about what was happening, his body suddenly vanished.

The next moment...

Arya slowly opened his eyes.

He found himself inside a slightly dark room. He could still see his surroundings clearly.

Suddenly, all the magic items on the walls began to glow, lighting up the entire area.

Only then did Arya realize he was inside a massive chamber deep within the dungeon. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂

Arya did not know which floor this was.

It could even be a boss room.

When he looked down, he saw water covering the floor.

He turned to the side and noticed a river flowing into the darkness.

Arya carefully walked closer to look.

The river flowed into a deep pit.

If he fell down there, he would definitely die.

However, he could not hear the sound of a waterfall.

When Arya turned around...

His eyes widened in shock.

A black dragon was sleeping on the floor.

For a moment, Arya thought he was still invisible and could quietly leave without being noticed.

But when he looked at the water beneath his feet, he saw his reflection.

That meant he was no longer invisible.

He immediately tried to use the ring again.

But no matter what he did, it did not work.

Arya looked around.

The dragon’s mana was so overwhelming that it covered the entire chamber.

That was why the magic item had stopped working.

If someone’s mana was far stronger than a magic item, it would lose its effect.

That meant...

Arya was in danger.

The monster in front of him was unlike anything he had ever faced before.

He tried to check its rank.

But the system only glitched.

He could not see anything.

Arya thought it could be Rank A...

Or maybe even Rank S.

Perhaps something even higher.

This was a completely different level from every monster he had fought before.

If he made even the slightest sound, the dragon would wake up.

So Arya slowly moved, trying to find an exit or a door before it was too late.

However, as he walked, the water beneath his feet created small ripples.

Splash...

The dragon slowly opened its eyes.

Arya immediately froze.

The dragon looked directly at him.

Then it slowly stood up.

Just by looking at it, Arya could tell it was furious.

The dragon took a deep breath.

A wave of hot air escaped from its mouth.

Then it inhaled once again.

This time, even longer.

A massive fireball quickly formed inside its mouth.

Arya knew that if it hit him, he would die instantly.

The moment the dragon fired...

Arya immediately jumped to the side and threw himself onto the ground.

BOOM!!

The giant fireball slammed into the chamber wall.

The impact shattered the wall, sending countless rocks crashing down.

The entire chamber violently shook like an earthquake.

If that attack had hit Arya...

He would have been burned to ashes.

Before Arya could even get up, the massive dragon moved.

Its enormous tail suddenly swept toward him.

Bang!!

The tail struck Arya directly, sending him flying through the air before crashing heavily into the chamber wall.

Boom!

Arya fell to the ground.

Blood flowed from the corner of his mouth.

He struggled to stand up and quickly checked whether his skills were still working.

Luckily, all of his skills were still usable.

Only his Teleport skill did not work because he did not know where he was or where he could teleport.

The dragon did not give him any time to rest.

It opened its mouth once again and gathered another giant fireball before firing it toward Arya.

This time, Arya immediately used his Air Walking skill and rushed upward.

The fireball slammed into the chamber wall instead.

BOOM!!

The explosion shook the entire chamber, sending thick dust and broken rocks flying everywhere.

The dragon then swung its massive tail.

A powerful gust of wind burst out, instantly blowing away all the dust.

Without stopping, it attacked Arya again.

Arya kept running through the air, staying slightly above the dragon while carefully circling around it.

The dragon could no longer use its fireball carelessly because Arya kept changing directions in the air.

Then, the dragon slowly spread its enormous wings.

Whoosh!

A powerful wind swept across the chamber as its wings flapped.

Because the chamber was unbelievably huge, the dragon had enough space to fly.

The next moment, the dragon rose into the air.

Now, both Arya and the dragon were floating in the sky, facing each other.

Now Arya had to fight this dragon.

He did not have any other choice.

He did not know how to get out of this place.

After seeing everything, Arya understood one thing.

To complete this trial...

He had to kill the creature standing before him.

There was no other way.

The black dragon hovered in the air, staring directly at Arya.

The battle had only just begun.
