Bound to the eldritch Sea: SSS-Tier Navigator
Chapter 57: Drone Swarm
But now, the seawater in the cabin had already reached its thighs, and it couldn’t even use thirty percent of its strength in the water.
No matter how it tore or dragged at the chains, they stayed locked tight on its ankles, unmoving.
Worse, as the anchor hit the seabed, the King felt a strong downward pull tearing at its legs.
At that moment, it finally calmed down and realized the whole cabin was a trap set by Kevin just to kill it.
Right then, its hatred for Kevin hit its peak.
It made a silent vow to make sure Kevin died.
It raised its right hand, and a red mist spread out, quickly shaping into a long blade.
Then, with a powerful swing, it actually severed both of its thighs clean at the base.
Gritting through the pain of the lost legs, it let out a fierce roar.
The tentacles on its head shot out red mist, rapidly forming Falcon-shaped Mist Phantoms.
The Falcon Phantoms pulled the King upward fast. Up high, a ten-meter-long Dragon-shaped Mist Phantom was already waiting to catch it. They were just about to leave the cabin and escape the Two-Masted Sloop together.
Suddenly, dark green mist gathered from all sides, like a giant bowl covering the Two-Masted Sloop.
A furious dragon roar echoed from the sky.
The mist completely cut off the Dragon Phantom from the Mist Phantom King.
In an instant, a hundred-meter radius around the Two-Masted Sloop was swallowed by the fog.
Seeing this, the nearby Survivors widened their eyes, looking completely stunned.
"Holy crap, what is that Eldritch phenomenon? Green mist? What is that? Is there a monster even stronger than that scary Mist Phantom King?"
"Oh god, one Mist Phantom King was already enough to leave us helpless. Now if another monster shows up, aren’t we totally screwed?"
"Don’t be scared, don’t be scared. They seem to be fighting each other."
Inside the cockpit of the long-range fishing boat, Raphael stared at the distant mist, her brows furrowed. "Why do I feel like that Mist Phantom King holds a grudge against the monster on the Two-Masted Sloop?"
Just then, Toti pushed open the door and dropped to the floor, panting hard. "Raphael, where are the reinforcements you promised? The guys on deck are completely drained. If another wave of Mist Phantoms attacks us, we won’t survive."
Hearing this, Raphael tried sending another message to Celula and Monchhichi.
But her messages still went completely silent.
Just as Raphael was hesitating, a faint white mist suddenly drifted across the surrounding water.
Seeing this, Raphael’s eyes shot wide open.
She quickly turned on the regional channel and shouted, "All ships, move closer to each other and cover one another! The Eldritch Entities are coming to attack tonight."
The Survivors heard Raphael’s voice, and despair washed over their faces.
Like Toti’s group, the Survivors on other ships were in even worse shape.
They had absolutely no strength left to fight the Eldritch Entities.
On some ships, barely a tenth survived. Only two or three people were left alive.
With no other choice, they followed Raphael’s plan and quickly merged into a new Survivor team.
Next, ship by ship, they started pulling closer together.
The surviving crew members loaded up with bags, supplies, and weapons, gathering together to face the Eldritch Entities that were about to close in.
Just then, a piercing sound echoed from the distant horizon.
The Survivors turned their heads, their eyes widening in shock.
Right in the center of that dark green mist, drones the size of flying saucers were circling wildly.
Seeing this, every Survivor was completely dumbfounded.
"Holy shit! A drone swarm! What am I seeing? Am I going crazy? There must be at least a hundred of them!"
"Who’s controlling them? That kind of firepower rivals a special ops team!"
"Damn it! Someone on that Two-Masted Sloop is definitely controlling these. The one on that ship making the green mist isn’t a monster, it’s a human! Only humans can control drones!"
The Survivors started arguing and whispering among themselves.
Raphael stood by the cockpit window, her gaze locked on the drone swarm, her eyes trembling slightly. "Is it Celula and the others? No wonder they didn’t reply to my messages. They’ve been fighting this whole time."
Saying that, Raphael silently clasped her hands and closed her eyes to pray. "Please survive. We will do our best to survive too."
While Raphael prayed quietly, inside the Two-Masted Sloop’s cabin, the Mist Phantom King was almost going mad with rage.
It had originally been controlling a group of Falcon-shaped Mist Phantoms to rise into the sky quickly. Once it linked up with that Dragon-shaped Mist Phantom, it was sure it could fly out of this sea area and find another ship to slowly recover.
But this "Deepsea Mist", with a concentration almost three times higher than usual, completely cut off its connection to the Dragon-shaped Mist Phantom.
If it were just a thick fog blocking its view, that would have been easy to deal with.
While normal Mist Phantoms feared this "Deepsea Mist", the Mist Phantom King didn’t care about it at all.
This mist could at most only block part of its sight. It couldn’t hurt it in any way.
But here’s where it got cheap. As the Mist Phantom King was preparing to force its way up through this "Deepsea Mist", a drone flew past its side without making a sound.
Right after that, a bright light flashed. Three Falcon-shaped Mist Phantoms near the King were instantly pierced through the chest, turning into light particles and disappearing.
Then, like a ghost, that drone kept weaving around the Mist Phantom King.
Each time it passed by, it wiped out several Falcon-shaped Mist Phantoms.
In just three passes, the Mist Phantom King lost the support of the Falcon Phantoms.
Its body instantly dropped, falling back to the bottom of the cabin and soaking in the seawater.
The Mist Phantom King roared in anger.
It condensed a large amount of red mist into its eyes, and finally, it could clearly see what was strapped to that drone.
It was actually an ancient-looking, majestic long spear—the very Lance of Longinus that Kevin had summoned.
So, right after the Mist Phantom King killed the Elite Fish Fiend in the cabin, Kevin had already summoned the Lance of Longinus again.
He had strapped the Lance of Longinus to the drone. Hiding in the safe room at the stern, he secretly controlled the drone to remotely hunt down the Falcon Mist Phantoms.
In fact, Kevin’s tactic was a complete success. The Mist Phantom King was now completely trapped inside the cabin.
By now, the seawater in the cabin had already reached the Mist Phantom King’s chest.
With its legs crippled, it no longer had the strength to fly again.
Overcome with rage, it kept screaming.
Suddenly, its body began to swell rapidly.
Using buoyancy, the Mist Phantom King finally pushed half its body out of the water.
With seawater still pouring into the cabin nonstop, the distance between the Mist Phantom King and the top of the cabin kept getting shorter.
Kevin noticed the King’s status through the drone’s infrared sensor and immediately frowned. "Damn, trying to use buoyancy to break the deck and escape again? Keep dreaming."
As soon as he spoke, the circling drones quickly fired targeting lasers. A series of red dots landed on the Mist Phantom King, followed by a rapid stream of gunfire.
Countless Fireball rounds hit the Mist Phantom King. The intense flashes detonated on impact, making the entire Two-Masted Sloop shake from the chain of explosions.
Out on the water, a giant mushroom cloud rose up, breaking right through the dark green mist. Thick smoke poured straight into the sky.
The nearby Survivors just stared at the scene, completely stunned.
"Holy shit! What kind of weapon is that? Did a missile just blow up? With that kind of power, that Two-Masted Sloop is probably going to sink."
"Oh my god! Does that mean all the Survivors on that ship are buried with the monster?"
"Damn monsters! Why did they come to this world? Do we even need a powerful Survivor fleet just to blow ourselves up to take one of those monsters down?"
Thinking about that, a heavy sense of despair washed over the Survivors.
Because the last explosion was so huge, the dark green mist surrounding the Two-Masted Sloop quickly cleared up.
Raphael stood on the cockpit’s observation deck, staring hard at the patch of sea where the Two-Masted Sloop had been.
All she saw in front of her were floating wreckage and a deep ocean whirlpool that still hadn’t settled.
It was clear that the Two-Masted Sloop was blown to the bottom of the sea.
Seeing this, Raphael let out a deep sigh, a tear rolling down her cheek. "Brave strangers, may there be no Eldritch in heaven."
Just as Raphael was grieving, thirty meters below the surface, the Two-Masted Sloop was sinking fast.
Even though the explosion was powerful, most of the damage was absorbed by the seawater inside the cabin. So besides the Mist Phantom King right at the center, the rest of the cabin wasn’t really damaged.
Inside the safe room, Kevin felt the air getting thinner and thinner, then let out a cold laugh. "Monster, this is the grave I built for you. Satisfied yet?"
Kevin’s voice was quiet, but it still echoed into the main cabin.
Then, the badly injured Mist Phantom King suddenly lifted its head, locking its eyes on the wall. Behind that wall was exactly the safe room Kevin had set up long ago.
The King let out a roar and flailed its arms, swimming wildly toward that wall.
Seeing this, Kevin grinned. "You idiot, do you know how a toilet flush works?"
Obviously, the Mist Phantom King understood what Kevin meant. It looked stunned for a second, but its arms kept flailing wildly. It was about to crash right into the wall, dragging Kevin down with it.
Suddenly, a massive tearing force yanked from below. The Mist Phantom King felt like it was grabbed by a giant hand and dragged down hard.
