Breeding System:My Five Beast Husbands Want Heirs
Chapter 110: A new set of tiny minions
"Do you really think it wise to indulge in such strenuous labour when you are pregnant, love?" Jia Hao asked as she spiced the meat. There was a lot of cut out meat laid before Mira on spread out leaves and the fire anchor had already been set.
"Yes. These people also have things going on, so it is my duty to thank them for leaving it to serve the clan." Mira responded. Her attention was on the meat she was seasoning. It was a two of the farm animals she purchased with system points nicely skinned and cut into good portions to grill. "And keep your voice down more as you say that, I do not want snooping people to find out before Ming Tao does." Mira added. The meat was fully seasoned now and all that was left to do was marinate it.
Because the cheetah clan was built more on wood, the fire anchor was smaller than the one the lions set and they had four of it so a lot of meat could be cooked in sections.
It was also easier to regulate four small fire anchors than one massive one if a fire outbreak did happen.
"I am worried for you, love. I do not want you to overwork yourself in the name of gaining favour." Jia Hao stated to Mira. Mira got up from the wooden stool she sat on and stood in front of Jia Hao who had been standing by her side all evening since she began preparing the meat.
"I am bearing a child in my womb, Jia Hao, I am not incapable." She whispered to his face.
Jia Hao took a step forward, further closing the small distance between them and looked her in the eyes. "If Ming Tao knew about your condition, then you would not even be outside in the first place." Jia Hao said. He was a father and like every beast man when their woman was with child, he was protective and knew how they behaved around their pregnant mate. Ming Tao would be losing his mind knowing she was out here and involved in so much activity when a life lived in her stomach.
Mira tilted her chin up. "I will let him know tonight."
"Good." Jia Hao stated. "Or I would have done it for you. With all that need to do something, it would be best he knows sooner."
Mira rolled her eyes. "Youβre unbelievable." She huffed and sat back down.
"I am only looking out for the one I love." Jia Hao said.
"Well, the one you love is tempted to send you out of the room she prepared for you earlier today and make you sleep outside on the ground!" Mira beamed. She did not know why she was annoyed, him looking out for her was not supposed to vex her yet it did.
Jia Hao raised his hands up in surrender and stared down at her small figure lovingly. He had dealt with Mira when she was pregnant and knew how crazy her emotions were in that state and he was glad he would not be the one losing his mind this time around.
"Forgive my poking of nose in matters that do not concern me, love." Jia Hao said.
Mira let out a sigh. He was always so understanding and sweet. "I will stay away from too much activity after tonight, I just want to do something nice for the cheetahs." She said, her tone nicer this time.
"Well, good thing I am here to support you all the way." Jia Hao uttered.
Mira looked up at him and flashed him a smile. The cheetahs only provided what she needed then discarded her. A lot of the adults watched in a distance while some were not present at all and Mira told Ming Tao to not get involved this time, she wanted to keep him intrigued and anticipating then serve him so the only man who was by her side was Jia Hao. ππ«πππ¨ππ―ππ πππ.ππΌπ
"Thank you." Mira stated. She held one of the chunks of meat on the leaves and dug a stuck through it. "Let us get these to the fire. They are prepared enough." Mira stood up and took this meat in her hand to the anchor. She placed it carefully and ensured it balanced well before taking a step back.
"Do I need to stick wood into them as well?" Jia Hao asked as he crouched down.
Mira turned to face him and reached for where the seasoned meat were. "That would be very much appreciated, my king." She responded.
Jia Hao began sticking nicely trimmed wood through the meat through the sharpened end. Mira took some of the ones he pierced to the fire anchor one by one and when he was done poking them all, Jia Hao joined her to do so.
It had barely been a few minutes yet the scent filled the air. Jia Hao could not help but salivate. His stomach growled at him in hunger for the meat.
Jia Hao smacked his lips together as he stared at the fire. He could eat it raw but there was something about the way Mira worked on meat that made raw meat taste like sand.
Mira made her way to the stool and watched the fire. If there was one word to describe today, it would be chaotic. So many things happened that messed with her head but the day was finally coming to an end and that she was glad for. Mira let out an exhale. Her ears twitched. She heard the sounds of tiny feet hit the ground. Peaking out of windows and behind the buildings were children. The same ones who threw rocks at her.
They looked as though they were intrigued by what she was doing and also perceived it. The faces Mira caught sight of licked their lips and kept stealing stares her way. This made Mira grin. These children were naughty and did not deserve to taste her cooking but one thing she learned from the Lion clan was that children were easier to bribe so she would accommodate them.
A wide smile formed on her lips. Cheers to a new set of tiny minions.
