Chapter 16: The Abominable Sea of Ash. Part-3.

After opening a considerable distance from the location where he met the snake-like monster, Zephyr stopped and decided to rest for a while.

He had no food, water, or shelter at the moment, and if he kept walking, he would waste his own energy pointlessly. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖

He needed to wait for night to arrive so that he could see the star constellations and determine the direction he needed to head towards; there was no point in pointlessly wandering during the day.

’The margin of error is too big; if I keep moving, I might accidentally end up going in a wrong direction, and then I would have to spend more energy making my way back all over again...’

Thinking about various things in his mind, Zephyr decided to pitch the scale on the ground like a wall in the direction of the sun.

Then he hid in the shadow created by the broken scale and sat down to rest.

Although the environment in the ash desert was still very hot during this time, at least the shadow of the broken scale brought him some relief.

As Zephyr leaned his back against the shell to rest, he realized that many people who were originally in the chat channel had started to leave.

’It’s likely around 9 or 10 AM in the morning; perhaps those who were watching the stream woke up and left as it became morning in the outside world too...’

The time-flow rate was pretty similar in the game world and the outside world, and there was no time delay in the livestream at all.

As one half of the world woke up from sleep and left the livestream, the other half slept as it became night for them due to Earth’s rotation.

New unique IDs entered the chat channel as the previous ones left one by one.

[Blue_eyed_Sea_otter: Yo! So this is the new player that’s been going famous today? He’s handsome! He’s still stuck in the ash desert?]

[Rolling_Crocodile: You don’t know sh*t man! My friend told me that this time the anchor is a very powerful person, and he even defeated a monster! I was so excited to see him that I fell asleep early today!]

[Near_Sighted_Grandma: As a 95-year-old grandma who has survived both world wars and cold wars without ever feeling a single fluctuation in my heart, I must say that I almost had a heart attack after seeing how handsome this young man is... Perhaps I can try again; who knows, I might still have some youth left in me, hehehe~]

[Jumping_Koala: @Near_Sighted_Grandma, ah hell nah man, someone forgot to give their grandma her meds, bro!]

[I_am_fast_as_fck_boi: Hey, my grandma is 95 years old and has severe dementia. Has anyone seen her? She has a tendency to not take her meds and run off to seduce random young men... If anyone sees her, please contact me.]

[Jumping_Koala: @I_am_fast_as_fck_boi, bruh! Are you blind or what? Can’t you see the message above?]

[Ragebaiter_UltraProMax: The chat channel seems peaceful; let me throw some rage bait real quick: ’That fcking G*A 6 is never coming out; we are all going to die from this horror game first!’]

[Near_Sighted_Grandma: @Ragebaiter_UltraProMax, It’s sad to say, but that’s not even rage bait anymore; the very reason I have been refusing to die is because I have been waiting for it to be released, but those sh*tty R*ckstar Games are just delaying it over and over!!]

Seeing a new chaotic group of people enter his chatroom, Zephyr felt refreshed.

’In this endless desert of death and destruction... at least there’s something that can help me keep my sanity...’

Although the people in the comment section were spouting random bulsht.

It was still enough to help Zephyr suppress the feelings of anxiety and nervousness that a person would usually get when transported to an unknown place with no information or equipment necessary for survival.

*Rumble* *Rumble* Rumble*

Just as Zephyr was starting to drift off into sleep and relax, the ground beneath him started to rumble as if an earthquake had come.

"Wha-what’s happening now-"

Before Zephyr could realize what was going on, the earthquake suddenly became even more intense, and massive cracks started to appear in the ground.

Zephyr hurriedly got up, took his scale shield, and looked in all directions with great vigilance.

"Is it a sandworm digging through the ground or some kind of monster wave that’s creating this? Don’t tell me those giant people that made that spear are here and they are so big that their normal walking is creating these earthquakes?"

Zephyr had many speculations in his head, but he was definitely not ready for what was about to come.

Soon enough he noticed a massive dust cloud in the distance and noticed that a massive cyclone-like structure was forming in the distance.

But unlike usual wind, it seemed to be formed of a greyish ash-like substance.

"Wha-what is that..."

Zephyr’s facial expressions became more solemn as his heart started to tremble a little just like it did when it predicted danger when Zephyr was hiding behind the silver spearhead.

"Is some other strange phenomenon, like the laser beam rainfall, going to happen again? You’ve got to be kidding me, right!?"

As Zephyr stared at the distant cyclone of ash, with his enhanced eyesight, he noticed that those ash-like substances seemed to be some kind of small round creatures with mouths and eyes.

Their round bodies were made up of ash, and like a group of piranha fishes, they group up together to kill everything in their way.

Those greyish creatures that were in a group of hundreds of thousands were circling around each other and creating a cyclone of ash!

’Whatever this strange phenomenon is... I don’t have a good feeling about this...’

Thinking about his miserable experience when facing the photon worm bombardment, Zephyr felt like cursing this sh*ty place and the sh*tty game world that brought him here at the top of his lungs.

’This abominable sea of ash! When will it stop messing with me!? UGH!’
