Chapter 34: Chapter 34: Divine Mission?

When Neo regained his senses, a grand scenario unlike anything he had seen before welcomed him.

It was an unknown realm that existed beyond the concepts of heaven or hell, there was an infinite expanse of white jade. Neo appeared there like a tiny dot, completely insignificant.

"What is this place? Where am I?"

No matter which direction Neo looked, or how far he traveled, there was no end.

Suddenly, a crack in space appeared out of nowhere. It expanded rapidly, stretching nearly thirty kilometers horizontally in an instant.

Finally, a gigantic figure emerged from the other side of the void, sitting upon a gold throne that was no less than the size of a colossal mountain.

This figure was as tall as a range of mountains and was clad in majestic silver robes that flowed like liquid starlight. It possessed two curved horns; however, they were not black like a demon’s. They were golden, spreading several kilometers overhead and radiating the aura of a superior entity.

Its face could not be gazed upon, as if the mere act of looking was a grave sin.

Soon, another figure of almost equal size and build, but with dark horns, appeared beside the first.

The cloak the second figure wore was like an obsidian sky.

These two colossal beings now looked at Neo as if they were observing an insect, albeit an interesting one.

Neo somehow maintained his calm and asked, "Who are you? Why have I been summoned here?"

The entity with the black horns looked at the entity with the gold horns. "Eragon, should I speak, or will you do the honors for this mortal?"

The first entity hummed in response, and the very fabric of space began to tear apart and fuse back together like desperate threads.

The entity, Eragon, looked down at Neo and rumbled in an unknown tongue:

"Neo Godson, we are the Godkings of the Emperion Verse, and you are blessed. You have been chosen by me, Eragon, for a divine mission, one you can never refuse."

Neo understood every word with crystal clarity.

"Godking Eragon? Emperion Verse?" Neo muttered, slightly shocked. It wasn’t just because of their exalted identities, but because he had finally stumbled upon clues regarding the Gods.

After all, his own father was a god who had been missing for years. To find him and bring back his mother’s smile was one of the many goals he had set for his life. There couldn’t be a better opportunity than this.

Still, he couldn’t reveal his true identity yet. He maintained the persona of a perfectly awed mortal.

"What kind of divine mission, Godking Eragon? I will do anything you ask," he said, his voice shaking with feigned fervor and worship.

Seemingly seeing through his facade, Eragon harrumphed in cold disdain.

"Stop with your pitiful act, boy. I can read your mind like an open book."

Neo’s face froze. He immediately realized the danger and forced his thoughts to a complete freeze, not wanting to reveal any more of his secrets.

"Oh, excellent willpower you have there, little fella," the second godly figure said, seemingly impressed. "Eragon, this one will do wonders. I can already feel it."

Eragon continued, his face still obscured by spatial distortion.

"From your recent thoughts, I know you are looking for your father. He is likely a lesser god. Regardless, if you can complete my task, I will help you find your irresponsible father."

"He is not an irresponsible father, but whatever," Neo shrugged and asked, "What is this task you ask of me?"

Eragon continued, "Simple. As you can already sense the changes within you, you should know you are now an Eragon. And as an Eragon, there is only one destiny that awaits you: to become the indisputable Emperor of Your Universe."

A silence ensued, heavy enough for Neo to hear his own tiny heartbeat.

"Whether you must slaughter quintillions or septillions, you will have to do so without hesitation. Because from the moment you became an Eragon, your destiny changed. You have entered the Game of Dominators. Other Dominators will come for you, whether you like it or not. They will kill you, slaughter your family, and destroy every small thing you adore.

So, if you want to survive and dominate, you will have to step up and become a player, right here and now."

"Quest? Beyonders also receive quests? Why didn’t Moon tell me anything about this?" Neo thought inwardly.

As if hearing his inner thoughts, Eragon replied, "Beyonders do not receive quests, only Dominators do. Beyonders are merely wanderers of the cosmos, while Dominators are those who rule over them. You are young, and there is much you have yet to learn."

"Dominators rule over Beyonders?" The phrase escaped Neo’s lips as if he had just uncovered a profound secret.

"And, little fella, since you are an Eragon, you will receive two Unique Talents of your choice from that Sphere of Luck," the second godly figure said, pointing at a translucent sphere that appeared out of nowhere. It contained 9 smaller orbs of three distinct colors.

Yellow, Purple, and Gold

"T-two?" Even Neo stammered at the number.

One Unique Talent had already made him so overpowered; what would two more do to him?

The thought alone sent shivers of excitement through his body. Whether he truly became a Dominator or not could be decided later, first, he had to get his hands on those Unique Talents while he still had the chance.

"Dorogon, remember: just two," Eragon warned seriously.

The second god, Dorogon, laughed. "I am not a fool, Eragon. I know the consequences."

Whoosh...

With a wave of his arm, the Sphere of Luck floated smoothly toward Neo.

From up close, Neo’s dark pupils reflected the glow of the multicolored orbs perfectly.

Alongside the glow, information began to visualize before his eyes.
