Chapter 103

Alex’s pupils contracted the moment he felt the full weight of the man’s aura press against him. But despite the damn pressure crushing against him, Alex refused to lower his head.

Just who the hell did this guy think he was? Did he think he could intimidate him with this bit of Aura? Even if he couldn’t currently defeat the guy, that didn’t mean he couldn’t give him a tough time, especially with the fact that even in the same rank as other Awakeneds, his overall physical attribute was a bit higher than theirs.

So since he was in C Rank that was equal to something called Vanguard Realm, that the man had said was after Early Realm, then in terms of physical ability he was a bit higher than Vanguard Realm Awakeneds.

Alex instead stared directly into the man’s eyes and replied calmly.

"Then I would still refuse."

The suited man stared at him quietly for several seconds before suddenly laughing while slowly retracting his aura.

"You’re really a stubborn little rascal, you know that?" The man admitted while shaking his head lightly. "But I like that."

Alex slowly relaxed slightly but he still remained vigilant just in case of any incasity. The suited man reached into his pocket and pulled out a small black card before handing it over to Alex.

"Well then," he said casually. "I won’t make things difficult and force you anymore. But if you ever change your mind, give me a call."

After saying that he turned around and left with both his hands tucked into his pocket. Alex watched his disappearing figure until the man completely vanished from sight. Only then did he finally release a small breath of relief.

His mind was then drawn to the card in his palm. As he examined it, he discovered that there was only a phone number written neatly across it. But the strangest thing was that there was no name, photo or even address. It was only the phone number.

He looked at it for a second longer before pocketing the black card, and moving toward Olivia’s house. There was no use thinking about all these. After entering the building, the familiar warmth inside immediately relaxed his tightened nerves.

Looking around, he watched the beautiful woman wrapped within a blanket like a burrito, sleeping peacefully like a baby, causing him to unconsciously soften his footsteps.

Her soft cheeks had now regained some color, showing that the chicken soup, ginger tea, and rest combo were finally doing their damn job. Alex stared at her silently for a few moments before his expression softened a bit.

Compared to the dangerous encounter that had happened earlier... This scene somehow felt kind of peaceful.

Just as he was even about to sit down nearby, Olivia suddenly shifted slightly in her sleep, making her body tilt dangerously close toward the edge of the couch.

Alex hurriedly moved just in time, and caught her before she could fall. Olivia feeling something really comfortable, unconsciously leaned against his chest and murmured something softly in her sleep.

Alex gave a small helpless smile at her unconscious antics and decided to take her to her bed, since if he placed her back on the couch, she might shift again and fall this time.

So carefully sliding one arm beneath her legs and the other beneath her back, he lifted her up into a princess style and began walking upstairs toward her bedroom.

Just as he was about to lay her down on the massive bed, Olivia instinctively refused to come down. Alex looked at the troublesome woman who was being stubborn even while asleep, and came up with something.

He carefully lay on the bed and adjusted her body so that she could continue holding him like a plush toy while he remained comfortable.

Now that they were both comfortable on the bed, Alex’s mind drifted as he thought of all of today’s events.

First he was able to put Andre into a good stable position in BluePeak that would temper him, then next was when he thought Nyx was pregnant which was really scary at the time.

It was a good thing that it was just a minor case of food poisoning, if not if that woman found out she might have gathered all her Awakeneds to give him a beating.

Then next, he took care of a sick woman, went to go get his revenge on Zack the betrayer, which was satisfying by the way. And finally, encountering a strong Awakened which he was lucky didn’t end up in a fight after he rejected his offer.

Yep. It was official. Today was really a stressful day, but it also had its merit in a way.

First and foremost, he had now been able to get the names of all the ranks in their increasing order and find out how they correlated to his own system level.

For example, D rank was equal to Early Realm Awakened. C Rank was equal to Vanguard Realm Awakened. B Rank should be equal to Ascendant Realm Awakened. A Rank was Equal to was it Master Realm Awakened? And finally, S Rank was equal to Transcendent Realm Awakened.

With each realm having a massive power difference between them. But if that man who was in the ascendant realm was strong like that, then just how powerful was master Realm... And let’s not forget the monster’s called Transcendent Realm who can tank a freaking nuke.

Honestly, he hoped to never make issues with people in that realm, maybe except when he finally reached it, which he was positively sure he could reach in some time from now, as long as he had more women, and strengthened his relationship with his current women.

And If with all the system’s help and unimaginable cheats, he couldn’t even reach somewhere like transcendent realm or S rank, then that means he truly was a wastel.

Alex continued staring blankly at the ceiling for a while after finishing organizing the information in his head. The more he learned about the world of Awakeneds, the more ridiculous everything started sounding.

Just the fact that a freaking transcendent could tank nuclear weapons still surprised him.

They sounded less like a human and more like some final boss monster from a video game.

Suddenly, a familiar ripple of blue light appeared in the air above his chest. The next second, the system materialized in her tiny chibi form while floating cross legged in the air. Her blue hair swayed slightly while her glowing anime like eyes stared directly at him with lingering shock.

[Whew! That was honestly way too close!]

She exclaimed dramatically while placing one tiny hand on her chest.

[Do you know just how dangerous that situation was earlier?!]

Alex glanced toward the tiny floating girl and raised an eyebrow slightly.

’So you were even watching? I thought you weren’t since I rarely heard your voice today.’

[Of course I was watching. It’s not every time I must talk alright. I’ve got to save my energy for really important things, like teasing you]

Alex ignored her last sentence and instead focused on something much more important.

’So just how strong was the guy really?’

The playful expression on the chibi’s face slowly faded into something more serious.

[As you might have already noticed, Ascendant Realm Awakened are a completely different breed from Vanguard Realm Awakeneds]

She floated downward slightly until she was hovering directly in front of Alex’s face.

She remained quiet as if mentally fighting with herself before finally giving out a sigh.

The moment those words entered his ears, Alex felt a cold chill spread across his back.

Ability to destroy an entire planet? That sounded completely absurd!

No... It sounded damn right impossible.

Even just the thought alone made him feel a special kind of pressure he just couldn’t explain properly.

The system went completely silent for several seconds before finally shaking her tiny head slowly.

Alex narrowed his eyes slightly.

’Why?’

The system looked at him directly now, and for the first time since he met her, Alex thought he saw a faint trace of fear hidden deep within her glowing eyes.
