Campus Ace Girl
Chapter 907: There Are Requirements to Be My Wife
He leaned over shamelessly and said a few words. Normally, he wouldn’t dare joke with her like this, but the atmosphere was so good tonight, and he’d had a little to drink, so he naturally let loose a bit.
Of course, he just found out that he can drink, and he felt deceived at the time. How many times had he fallen for that rascal Little Wang’s tricks?
When he talked like this, Lin Hua couldn’t take it and wanted to escape, but where could she escape from his teasing?
Walking out of the study, Old Brother looked satisfied, and Lin Hua’s face was slightly flushed.
She was about to enter his previous bedroom but was stopped by him. With a faint smile, he said, "Since we’re going to be a couple, it’s better to get used to each other’s living habits early."
She was speechless, but then she thought to herself, being reserved now was just a futile gesture, so she didn’t insist any further.
After entering the bedroom, he was in a good mood and went to get two wine glasses, each pouring a small amount of wine, gently shook it, and handed one to Lin Hua.
Lin Hua did not drink.
King Jingyao watched her closely and slowly drank his, then smiled, "Why not drink?"
He put down his glass and sat leisurely on the sofa, then chuckled softly, "Is it because of Feng Sheng?"
Lin Hua’s lips moved slightly.
Old Brother’s eyes showed a bit of disappointment, and he gave a bitter smile, reaching to loosen his tie and undo two buttons of his shirt. Although he was thin, he was solidly built, and the series of actions looked quite attractive.
"Lin Hua, I didn’t really want to bring him up today, but I understand that you’re not marrying me for riches or status, but for Feng Sheng, right? He left without any explanation, and you’ll never be at peace unless you clear up this mess. Am I right?" After speaking, his eyes fixed directly on Lin Hua.
Lin Hua did not deny it and didn’t want to deny it.
For Old Brother, this wasn’t a pleasing matter. But after all the ups and downs over the years, a little emotional entanglement was nothing. However, Lin Hua’s nature was truly like a blunt knife torturing him, quite painful.
He slapped his leg, "Alright, I’ll take care of this."
"Thank you," Lin Hua said softly.
King Jingyao instead gave an uncomfortable cold laugh, "Thank me for what? Isn’t this what I should do as your husband?"
Lin Hua was hurt by his sarcastic tone and, after a moment of silence, softly said, "I’m going to take a bath."
"Wait," he caught her arm, not letting her leave so easily.
She was pulled back to his side. King Jingyao didn’t do anything to her but instead downed his wine glass and softly spoke, "I have my own demands too."
Lin Hua watched him.
He stared at her, and in a calm voice, said, "Since you are my wife now, you have to be devoted. Lin Hua, I don’t care how much you liked him or if you still do. You have to clean it up completely. I’m your husband from now on, and we’ll have kids. A qualified wife, a wife with feelings for her husband, is my basic demand of you."
Lin Hua’s voice trembled, "I know."
"You don’t know." He suddenly pulled her into his arms, gripping her chin, looking down at her.
His muscles tensed from the suddenness, letting her know that he wasn’t always gentle. Underneath the guise of civility and warmth, he never lacked the masculine side of control and dominance.
King Jingyao lowered his head, whispering gently, "So, from now on, get your emotions together, and don’t let me sense that you’re nostalgic for another man, understand?"
Lin Hua’s body trembled slightly.
She knew that he wasn’t that easy to talk to.
’Can’t do it?’ he hoarsely asked her.
Lin Hua shook her head, and a moment later, she softly said, "I hope you can forget too."
She looked up, gently leaning toward him...
"Is this your answer?"
...
Early in the morning, King Jingyao got up early and went to the courtyard to practice a set of long punches, returning sweaty to take a shower.
When he came out, Lin Hua was still asleep.
He walked over, bent down to observe her, noticing her delicate brows and large eyes. She looked a bit naive while sleeping, quite different from when she was awake.
He smiled silently, reaching out to pinch her cheek lightly, "Join me for breakfast."
Lin Hua opened her eyes, taking a moment to focus on his face. After a while, she hoarsely asked, ’What time is it?’
"It’s just 8 o’clock." He laughed, "Do you want to get up for breakfast?"
She turned away from him, "Not really in the mood to get up."
Old Brother leaned in to whisper, "Still okay?"
Her body stiffened for a moment before she replied, "Still okay."
He chuckled, ’Alright, I’ll go down and eat by myself.’
And he indeed went downstairs.
Lin Hua lay there, listening to the sound of the door closing and then faint footsteps, getting farther and farther away...
She sat up, looking down at the white shirt she was wearing, feeling a bit uncomfortable.
After sitting blankly for a while, she thought about what King Jingyao had said to her. She knew it was best not to provoke him, best to play her role as a wife well...
Actually, Lin Hua herself didn’t know what her feelings for King Jingyao were. Maybe at the start, it was purely for Feng Sheng, but she couldn’t convince herself that after several encounters, she remained indifferent to King Jingyao.
He was extremely good to her, and once upon a time, she had been so fond of him.
Lin Hua was confused and even a bit afraid of falling for him. If that happened, she would look down on herself, as if everything she did was premeditated...
As she was lost in thought, the door opened, and she looked over.
It was King Jingyao.
He wore a cream-colored casual suit, looking fresh and young, carrying a tray.
A cup of hot milk, a sandwich?
’I made it. Try it.’ He smiled, closing the door with a nudge of his foot, "Didn’t you say you were going to sleep? Why are you sitting up now?"
He came over, casually sitting on a single sofa nearby.
Lin Hua bit her lip, "I haven’t brushed my teeth yet."
"Sometimes, I feel like I should be more lenient with you." King Jingyao chuckled softly, quite magnanimous.
Lin Hua could only get up, but she couldn’t stand not brushing her teeth, so she went into the bathroom to tidy up before coming out.
King Jingyao watched her, noting she was still wearing his shirt, feeling a tenderness in his heart, "I’ll go with you to your place later to tidy up."
"No need, I can go by myself. You’re very busy." She lowered her head, sipping the milk, speaking naturally.
King Jingyao’s eyes deepened, "Lin Hua."
"Hmm?" She raised her eyes to him, "What’s wrong?"
King Jingyao curled a finger, lightly scraping the sofa, gave a faint smile, "I am quite busy, but you seem to forget that I am your husband now. I am not just Mr. Wang."
