Chapter 373: Old Friend

The Chaos of the cat spread out from within it. It made the air as dense as mud. Mikael could feel his power pushing at his old heart.

"The Von Schattenbergs had a patron. I suspect it was a sort of Pantheon. Who is your patron, Mikael?" The black cat stroked its whiskers.

"Patron? I don't know what you're talking about." Mikael smiled.

Suddenly, the air became even denser and pushed Mikael down to his knees.

"Fuck. You're strong." Mikael's own Chaos blasted out to resist Mater's power but it was futile. He was just a Minor Disaster Psychic while the black cat was a Peak Status Warlock.

Mikael was forced to put his head on the ground.

Lucyna sighed, "Give up, grandfather. It is inevitable."

Mikael clenched his teeth. He couldn't understand how such a strong being could come out of nowhere. Suddenly, he remembered all those supernatural phenomenon happened in the last years.

Everything suddenly made sense.

'So... This is the culprit.'

"I surrender!" Mikael shouted.

The black cat grinned. "Good boy."

Mater opened up his paw and dragged Mikael over.

"Your granddaughter has joined us. You should too."

Mater dug into Mikael's Psycho Force and enslaved him. From this moment on, the Zakharovs was officially a servant for Mater, or rather, his entire Dark Court.

"Wasn't that easy, grandfather?" Lucy chuckled. "Now we need to know about who is actually behind us."

Mikael blinked a few times, feeling the change within him. The mark in his Psycho Force made sure he was obedient and honest.

Mikael nodded, "Why don't I show you?"

They went down to the basement of the Zakharov Mansion. There, they saw an alter and a symbol on the wall.

A sword pierced into the tail of a snake while the body of a snake wrapped around the blade.

"Sheesh! I didn't think it would be these guys." Mater's deep voice echoed.

"Who are they?" Selina said.

"These are the Dark Alchemist. They are all maniacs." The black cat meowed.

"Maniac even for you?" Selina raised an eyebrow.

"Well. They are not as savage as me. But they are one group of crazy scientists you could say. They did many unforgivable experiments in my world that they were even denounced by their own kind, the Alchemist Guild."

The black cat flew to the altar. He noticed the candles were a unique type of relic that had the ability to connect through worlds. The cat swiped its claw on the stone wall to catch a spark and lit up the candle.

"Wait! That would call upon the high beings!" Mikael widened his eyes.

"I know, little Mike. Just let me handle it." The black vat chuckled.

The smoke formed a circle on the alter. Not long after, a face appeared in the smoke.

"What are you calling me for, lowlife?" A voice came out from the other side.

"Hmmm. This tone of voice. I assume this is Rumius?" The black cat's deep voice echoed.

The man in the smoke looked over to the black cat. " Who the hell are you?"

"I'm your mama!" The black cat said.

Silence fell to the room. Then suddenly, a high-pitched voice came out.

"This tone... Heresy?!" The man said.

"You're goddamn right!"

"Ay! My boy! I thought you died already?" Rumius said.

"Siderius sent me away." The black cat stroked its whiskers.

"What?! No way! The world barrier should prevent you from crossing to this world."

"Are you stupid? Don't you see I am a cat?"

Rumis widened his eyes then suddenly grabbed his notebook. "I see. I see. He sent your soul to this world only. I didn't even think of that!"

"Why are you writing it down?" Mater sweated.

"Shit, man! We lost the war. That bastard Siderius switched side. Now I am being hunted like a dog. I need somewhere to go!"

"Hey! I didn't say I allow you to come to my world."

"What you're going to stop me with, you little black cat?" Rumius laughed.

"I have 500 Rank-2 here." The black cat bluffed.

He didn't have 500 Rank-2. Only around a hundred and the rest are Rank-1. But Rumius didn't know that.

"What the? You switch to playing team game now! You cunning bastard!"

The black cat grinned. "This world is mine, Rumius. If you want to come, you need to pay something."

Rumius stayed silent. Then suddenly, three dark spheres appeared on the altar.

"Three Rank-3 Chaos Singularity. Is this enough?"

"Pffft!" The black cat hugged its belly and laughed at Rumius's face. "I have already returned to Peak Rank-3. What the hell do I need these for?"

Rumius was shock again. "How? You died less than two years ago. Even with a Rank-4 Soul, it should take years for you to return."

"Doesn't matter how, eh." The black cat shrugged. "What else you can give me?"

"Ugh! Fine! Wait for me a little bit." The man in the smoke disappeared. Then, a while later, a new dark sphere appeared on the altar. This one looked like a heart, beat like a heart, and exuded pure tainted Chaos.

The smoke man returned, "Some poor Warlock got their executed by the Holy Order. We're able to retrieve his body and his Chaos Singularity."

"Damn! Did you kill them yourself?"

The smoke man rolled his eyes, "Are you taking it or not?"

"Alright then. Give me another one and I may allow you to pass through."

"What the?! Are you a robber now?"

"I always am. Kekekeke."

"Damn it. Fine. Wait there."

A few minutes later. Another dark sphere appeared on the altar. Mater swallowed the Rank-4 Singularities and the Rank-3 altogether.

"Why did you take my Rank-3 Singularities?"

"Transaction fees."

Rumius was speechless.

"When are you going over? I will set up the ritual." Mater said.

"Probably in the next three months. I need to find a good place hide from these Fate Knights. They chased me like a dog, man!"

"Alright. Give me your Communication Seal so we can talk later."

The smoke man created a smoke seal in the air. It glowed in gold and materialized. The black cat swallowed it whole.

"Good talk. See you in three months."

"Fuck you!" Rumius gave Mater a finger before disappearing.

"Well, that was productive." The black cat chuckled.

Mikael sweated. He didn't think that this cat knew their family's patron from the higher dimension.
