Chapter 389: Chapter 389: Restless Sea

The Restless Sea, an ocean that people once called Paradise. It had the clearest water, bluest sky, and a calm nurturing wave.

That was three decades ago. Now, the Paradise Ocean was always filled with dark cloud above the sky. Its water had a deep brown color because of the pollution of the war.

Selina floated on the sky. Beside her was her kitty as always, Mater Evol Heracy.

"What happened here?" Selina asked.

"Nuclear waste." Mater answered.

Nuclear power. The ability to slice an atom in half. This was what caused the deplorable state of a once paradise.

This world wasn’t entirely weak. It had nuclear. The sole technology that kept the other worlds from invading it outright.

Nuclear power reached the power of a god and even more. That was why the hells and heavens chose another path to conquer this planet.

The Pantheon tried the slow and methodical approach, slowly altering perspective and brainwashing the citizens of the Union.

The hells, in all honesty, tried to corrupt this world.

"Science has a perk of its own. This is why it is an acknowledged path to power. The same thing that those Alchemists seek." Mater meowed.

"Do they have nuclear power?" Selina asked.

"Yes, in a way. But their technology leans more toward magic."

The two of them flew into the Restless Sea.

The Hell of Brine took over the Confederation. Another Hell took over the Paradise Region. Mater guessed that it was the Hell of Darkness from the records od the Great War.

Paradise Region included twelve small countries. The leader of them was Vieta, a peninsula with most of its border facing the water.

That was where Iris Sordenfield and Thomas Isles had gone to. Iris was tasked to find out a secret plan that Vieta had and disappeared. Thomas followed her a few months later, unsanctioned and without any orders.

"Vieta, huh? That place is infested with Abominations just like Crow." Mater said.

"It’s unfortunate that Crow isn’t here. We can’t introduce him to his friends." Selina giggled gently.

They landed in the peninsula and immediately noticed the plants and ground here.

The dirt was deep black, an unnatural color of darkness. The plant was purple. All plants were purple. In their veins coursed the power of Nether.

Selina picked a leaf off. Nether flooded to the air as dense smoke.

"This place... They have successfully terraformed it." Selina said.

The black cat nodded. "It is not possible for human to inhabit this place anymore. But maybe we can make use of this place for Crow’s advancement later."

Selina flicked her red earring, the Psycho Stream Integrator. A floating window appeared in front of her.

This was an upgrade invented by the Psychosmith during their years in the Everlasting Wilds. The Integrator was a true futuristic piece of tech now and capable or projecting 3D image to the air.

"Based on the files, my mother’s mission was to infiltrate a city called Halang."

"Let’s go there. Shall we."

Selina put on the Abyssal Helmet. She transformed into the Dark Knight of Hell once more. Now, she looked no different than an Abomination.

They flew deep into the land of Vieta. The entire place was as dark as the Abyssal Floor in the Chaos Realm. The Sun was the only light source. And yet, it only glowed faintly like the moon, instead of its actual bright.

They arrived in Halang shortly after. It was a coastal city with a long coastline in the East. The structure here was all black, built from the corrupted dirt and stone.

Halang had a high tower in the shape of a Lotus, that was where the commanding officers of Vieta currently was.

"How are we going to infiltrate in there?" Selina pointed her finger at the Lotus tower.

The black cat stroked its whiskers in deep thoughts. He noticed a couple of humans pushing a cart in an entrance beneath the Lotus tower.

"That way?"

These humans had dark skin and white glowing eyes just like Crow. They were a mix of Abomination and human, not pure human anymore.

Selina landed gently behind them and knocked them out with her gauntlets.

"Nicely done. Now leave the rest to me." Mater took a strand of hair from both of them and created two Mimicry Masks out of it.

Once they had become identical to the Abominations, they continued pushing the cart into the Lotus tower.

"Hey, you there!" An Abomination Guard stoppd them. "I need to check the cart first."

Selina didn’t say anything and nodded.

The guard opened up the cart and revealed the content inside. It was filled with glowing purple rocks.

’Condensed Nether Rocks. How interesting.’

’What is it?’

’Nether Energy in solid form. This can only be made when the ground is soaked with enough Nether that it began to produce Nether Rocks on its own.’

’These things are useful?’

’Oh... They definitely are. Nether Rock can easily be made into Nether Weapons or Tools. Otherwise, it can be used as a power source for all kinds of ritual.’

"Alright, moving on." The guard waved his hands.

Selina and Mater pushed the cart inside.

They entered the Lotus warehouse, where all the Nether Rocks were stored.

’Why is there so much Nether Rocks?’ Selina teepathically communicated.

’They are definitely planning something for sure.’ Mater answered.

The warehouse was filled with Abomination Guards. But all of them were only Rank-2.

’Wait here...’

Mater’s body was covered in a dark cloak and he disappeared.

This was the Rank-3 spell, Interdimensional Cloak. In its core, it was an invisibility spell. But it was much more powerful than that. The spell pushed Mater to a sub-dimension where no one could sense him but it was still on the same plane as his original dimension, allowing him to move without being detected.

There was a weakness however, that he must reached out from the cloak to interact with the real world.

Mater removed his Mimicry Mask and activated his Chaos Avatar. The shadow man appeared once more.

"Come to papa!" Mater reached a hand out of the cloak and pulld a guard into the Chaos Realm.

He did the same trick for every other guards and cleaned the place up within minutes.
