Celestial Beast Taming
Chapter 118 - 92: Three in Just One Year!?
Jin Cai stood there with his chin held so high, precisely because he was waiting for someone to say those words.
A moment ago, while sitting, Jin Cai had been a little worried that no one would give him an opening.
’A monologue is nowhere near as satisfying as a duet!’
Angry Monk’s face was a mask of fury, but Jin Cai shot him a look of deep satisfaction.
The look first stunned Angry Monk, then he felt a sudden chill run up a place his kasaya didn’t quite cover.
’What was that look supposed to mean?’
Before Angry Monk could puzzle out the meaning behind Jin Cai’s gaze, Jin Cai’s voice boomed.
"That’s right. Su Sheng can indeed heal an Order Beast’s injuries, jumping Tiers to do so."
"While still at the Mortal Beast Tier, he could already heal the injuries of a Mythical Tier Order Beast. He can even break a curse cast by a Mythical Tier, Curse Element Bizarre that sacrificed its own life."
"With a Healing Ability like that, it’s hardly an exaggeration for us in Starlight City to report his potential Talent as Triple S."
Jin Cai’s words stunned not only Angry Monk, who was still puzzling over that look, but also Flower Venerable, Sun Monarch, Sleep Emperor, and every other Celestial Destiny Seeker in attendance.
’Healing a Mythical Tier Order Beast while at the Mortal Beast Tier... how is that possible!?’
If they didn’t know that Jin Cai, as Starlight City’s representative at the Xin Xia Federation conference, would never lie, more than half of the Celestial Destiny Seekers present would have called his words into question.
Sun Monarch, clad in a suit of Red Half-Body Armor and having remained quiet for most of the Xin Xia Federation conference, suddenly spoke up.
"I would like to know what kind of injuries Su Sheng treated on the Mythical Tier Order Beast."
"If it was merely a common wound, that wouldn’t be enough to prove Su Sheng’s worth."
There wasn’t the slightest hint of doubt in Sun Monarch’s tone as he spoke.
Only a genuine inquiry into Su Sheng’s Ability!
The emergence of a Healing-type Celestial Destiny Seeker offered a new layer of security to all Celestial Destiny Seekers in the Xin Xia Federation.
Even knowing that treatment from Su Sheng would undoubtedly come at a price, a new avenue for healing was better than none at all.
Seeing that someone else was playing along, Jin Cai said with immense satisfaction.
"Su Sheng’s potential rating was decided upon by four of us from Starlight City, Star Emperor included, after thorough discussion."
"What Su Sheng healed with his Order Beast was, of course, an Origin wound on a Mythical Tier Order Beast!"
"Otherwise, we would never have assigned him a Triple S potential rating."
"Wei Re was injured a year ago in a battle with a Mythical Tier Bizarre. I’m sure some of you here know about Wei Re’s condition."
"Su Sheng healed Wei Re’s Order Beast, the Crown of the Sun."
With that, Jin Cai looked at the astounded Angry Monk and added with a smile.
"Youth doesn’t equate to a lack of skill. You can call him Su Sheng in your daily interactions, but when your Order Beast’s Origin is truly and gravely wounded, you might just find yourself calling him Lord Su Sheng."
"In any case, if it were my Order Beast with a damaged Origin, I would certainly adopt a more supplicating attitude."
"Celestial Destiny Seeker from Forging Furnace City, wouldn’t you agree?"
Angry Monk was irascible and quick to anger, a trait related to the Rule his Order Beast commanded.
The Rules wielded by some Order Beasts could indeed influence their Celestial Destiny Master’s personality.
But as short-tempered as Angry Monk was, he wasn’t a fool.
The moment Jin Cai explained that Su Sheng’s Order Beast could heal the damaged Origin of a Mythical Tier Order Beast, Angry Monk understood Su Sheng’s significance and value to all Celestial Destiny Seekers.
Angry Monk had never met Wei Re, but an Origin wound sustained in a battle against a Mythical Tier Bizarre couldn’t possibly be minor.
Furthermore, they had also been struck by a curse from a Curse Element Bizarre, cast at the cost of its own life.
Su Sheng could not only heal Origin wounds but also remove curses cast by Mythical Tier Bizarres.
And this was a feat his Order Beast accomplished while still at the Mortal Beast Tier!
’Perhaps Su Sheng didn’t deserve to be called ’Lord’ by a fellow Celestial Destiny Seeker like himself... not yet.’
But once Su Sheng developed his power a little more, there would be no shortage of Celestial Destiny Seekers willing to call him Lord Su Sheng.
Many of the other twenty-nine Celestial Destiny Seekers present, Sleep Emperor included, had already risen to their feet in shock and excitement.
Flower Venerable was the first to address Jin Cai.
"Jin Cai, we may not interact often, but we’re Celestial Destiny Seekers of the same generation. We’ve crossed paths before in the Inter-City Tournament."
"Could we speak privately in a moment? There’s a favor I’d like to ask of you."
Flower Venerable, who was always composed and decisive, her words never sparing anyone, now wore an expression of undisguised excitement.
Beneath her excitement, a glimmer of hope lay hidden in her eyes.
Beihan City and Starlight City were on good terms, and Flower Venerable herself was personally acquainted with several of Starlight City’s Celestial Destiny Seekers.
Flower Venerable knew exactly how severe the injuries to Lin Zhuo’s Order Beast were.
Last year, Flower Venerable had visited Star Emperor in Starlight City and had examined the injuries on Lin Zhuo’s Order Beast.
Even Star Emperor had been helpless, leaving Lin Zhuo with no choice but to rely on the Order Beast’s own formidable constitution to endure the damage.
They could only slowly nurture it within the Soul Base, hoping time would allow the Crown of the Sun to recover.
Flower Venerable had been unable to offer any other solution either.
Lin Zhuo’s Crown of the Sun had a cracked main trunk, and the curse had seeped into its very heartwood.
’If an injury like that could be healed, then... did that mean her sister’s Order Beast also had a chance?’
Admittedly, the injuries to her sister’s Order Beast were far more severe than those suffered by Lin Zhuo’s Crown of the Sun.
But the nature of the wounds was the same—damage to the Origin Core.
Jin Cai wasn’t the least bit surprised that someone would ask him for an introduction after he announced Su Sheng’s accomplishments.
Flower Venerable wasn’t the only Celestial Destiny Seeker present with such thoughts. The others were simply waiting to see how things would unfold.
