Celestial Refining Divine Scripture
Chapter 405 - 403: Underhanded Move
"Who's there?"
"Where are you from? You haven't been suppressed? Did Heaven's Prison miss you somehow?"
"Ahhh—stop it, fuck!"
The startled demon was blasted to the ground by a thick bolt of lightning, screaming in agony.
"Wait, you're carrying the aura from outside. Goddamn it—you're one of Heaven's Prison's Martial Artist wardens!"
The demon scrambled up, suddenly coming to his senses, glaring malevolently at Xu Yang and roaring, "You little bastard, still wet behind the ears—come here and die for daddy!"
He looked just like a cat that had caught a whiff of blood, eyes gleaming as he lunged madly forward.
Xu Yang's mouth twitched—what the hell is this guy, does he have rabies or something?
Then again, after being locked up here and tortured for hundreds of years, anyone would be insane by now.
Boom!
Lightning poured down like rain, blasting a huge pit in the ground.
The man in black, a middle-aged guy, lay in a spread-eagle position, head down, body scorched and twitching, flesh split and bloody!
Xu Yang asked curiously, "How long have you been trapped here?"
Bang!
The middle-aged man flipped over, looking utterly defeated as he glared at Xu Yang, "It's been over four hundred years, you little bastard. You have any idea what it took for me to survive all these damn years?"
"Four hundred years?"
"After all that time, you still seem full of energy!"
Xu Yang said, surprised, with a laugh.
Logically, with such relentless torture, he should have broken long ago.
But this guy still has the strength to howl and curse up a storm.
Hearing that, the middle-aged man's muscles jerked and he gritted his teeth, "You think it's easy to lose your mind in here?"
"You said I curse well?" His tone flipped abruptly, full of suspicion.
"I can't stand the Can Clan either!" Xu Yang grinned.
"Huh?"
"You've got some guts."
The middle-aged man got up, glancing nervously up at the thunderclouds overhead.
Just then, the thunderclouds grew quiet, as if they had decided to take a break.
"In this place, every moment is hell—my power's fully sealed, all that's left is a shell of a True Monarch; any injuries heal instantly, just so you can suffer the pain of being torn apart over and over!"
He smirked grimly, "And there's more—there's soul-level torment; right when you're about to break, they'll snap you awake, make you beg for death, but you can't die!"
"Little bastard, want to try it for yourself?"
Xu Yang gave a slight shake of his head, "No thanks!"
You'd have to be a moron to want that!
"Heh heh."
The middle-aged man grinned, suddenly vanishing.
Even left with just a True Monarch's shell, he's still a True Monarch!
Xu Yang didn't even see how he disappeared; in a flash of movement, the middle-aged man was right in front of him.
But the guy suddenly stopped, shivering, eyes wide with terror as he stared at the sky.
The massive thundercloud stirred, gathering a power far greater than before.
Xu Yang smiled faintly, "I carry a spiritual mark that lets me walk here. Since you've seen other wardens come through, you should know what these do."
The middle-aged man snarled, "Finally saw someone from outside, and I don't even get to play with you?"
"Play by yourself, then."
Xu Yang looked up at the thundercloud and laughed, "Nice place you got here. Take your time and enjoy it!"
The middle-aged man exploded in fury, "If I wasn't stuck here, I could kill you with a look!"
Xu Yang just shook his head, laughing, and lifted his hand.
Swish!
The spiritual mark shimmered in front of him.
A line of information appeared on it: Zhou Xiong, known as the Curse Demon, cultivates a special curse skill, has slaughtered over a hundred thousand innocents, heinous and monstrous crimes!
Xu Yang raised an eyebrow—Curse Demon?
"Teacher, are there really cultivation techniques that involve curses?"
"This world is vast. Anything is possible!"
Gu Jun might not have heard of it, but after witnessing so many unbelievable things, he didn't have much confidence in his own knowledge.
Xu Yang nodded slightly. He was curious, but this sort of thing was obviously anything but legit; his interest quickly faded.
With a thought, the spiritual mark scanned Zhou Xiong from afar.
Zhou Xiong shuddered, eyes full of wariness!
With that mark around, he couldn't touch Xu Yang.
"Kid, hiding behind the spiritual mark—what kind of skill is that? Take it off and I'll play with you." Zhou Xiong grinned.
Xu Yang sighed—play?
You mean risk my life playing with you?
He ignored it and kept walking.
Buzz!
The moment he dismissed the spiritual mark, an invisible force rained down from the sky, binding him completely.
His body felt heavy; every shred of power was cut off!
Just like Zhou Xiong, he was left with nothing but a shell.
"All of my power—including Spiritual Power—is sealed, and only my physical strength remains!"
Xu Yang looked at the sky, shaken, thinking to himself that the suppression here could probably seal even a cultivator's physical body, turning you into a helpless ordinary person.
But leaving some physical strength meant those trapped here could experience the most excruciating torture firsthand!
Xu Yang took a deep breath as a thought flashed through his mind. He sat down slowly, calmed his mind, his thoughts drifting to the profound mysteries of the Three Seals of Heaven Locking. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
He'd use the suppression here to understand the deeper layers of the Three Seals!
Though all his power was sealed, the mysteries still lingered in his heart; he could meditate and comprehend them through divine perception!
Zhou Xiong watched, surprised.
"Practicing cultivation here?"
"What technique is this kid cultivating? Is he trying to comprehend something through the suppression?"
He was very curious.
After so many years with no living souls around, he was driven half-mad.
Now, with an outsider here, Zhou Xiong could barely contain himself!
But with the spiritual mark in play, he really didn't dare do anything reckless!
The suffering it caused was far worse than anything else in this prison!
He knew that lesson well.
After a long time.
A cold glint flashed in Zhou Xiong's eyes. He spoke slowly, "Kid, keep me company and chat a bit. I'll teach you a little trick, how's that?"
"I may be trapped here, but I used to be a powerful True Monarch!"
"Any random technique from me could help you out in ways you can't imagine!"
"Don't worry, with the spiritual mark here, I don't dare pull anything. I'm just bored out of my mind."
He sounded real sincere!
Xu Yang opened his eyes, amusement in his gaze. "True Monarch technique?"
"That's right!"
Zhou Xiong said arrogantly, "I might be a demon, but I know plenty of genuine Divine Secret Skills!"
"Want to learn?"
"Do you even know who I am?"
"Aren't you just a Heaven's Prison warden?" Zhou Xiong shrugged dismissively.
"I'm Daqian's Crown Prince. You think I care about some True Monarch tricks?" Xu Yang smirked mockingly.
"What? The Crown Prince of Daqian?"
"What's the Crown Prince doing here?"
Zhou Xiong froze, eyes wide with doubt—this was way too unlikely.
But normally, who would dare pretend to be the Crown Prince?
Even if nobody knew, it's not something people go around saying for fun.
Was he really?
Hiss!
Zhou Xiong sucked in a cold breath.
Seeing Xu Yang closing his eyes again, Zhou Xiong's face kept shifting, and he urgently shouted, "Wait a second!"
"Kid, maybe you're not interested in my techniques, but I've got one dirty little trick that'll blow your mind!"
Zhou Xiong licked his lips, his expression turning eerie and creepy, sending chills down one's spine, "You have no idea how powerful a demon's ruthless tricks can be!"
