James Black looked at Jane Sampson, whose face had turned as red as a tomato, and found it adorable.

"Childish." James Black raised his eyebrows happily, holding Jane Sampson’s hand as they sat down.

Aunt brought out a pot of herbal soup, first serving a bowl to James Black with a smile, "I heard your voice was hoarse when you came downstairs, didn’t you say you had a cold? Here, this is a special herbal soup made for you. It can cure colds, and soothe your throat as well."

Aunt came from the countryside, where various herbal soups are most common. James Black and Jane Sampson have been drinking them since childhood at the Black Family home.

"Hey! I’ll go get the rock sugar. How about you eat first, Jane, and by the time you’re done, the soup won’t be hot anymore, and the sugar will have melted." Aunt didn’t catch Brooke’s teasing of Jane Sampson but thought Brooke made a good point. With Jane’s weak constitution, she indeed needed to prevent getting infected.
