James Black had already dressed and gone to wash up, while she was still struggling on the bed.

As she lifted the quilt, a cold breeze hit.

She snuggled back in, turning to glance out the window, imagining the chilly wind outside, and shivered again.

James Black finished washing and came out of the bathroom, seeing a small lump on the bed shaking, not knowing whether to be angry or laugh.

"It’s time to get up." James Black tapped Jane Sampson’s head through the quilt.

She had this annoying habit of burying herself completely under the quilt, not willing to expose even a strand of hair.

"I don’t want to get up~" Jane Sampson coughed twice and then slowly lifted the quilt, looking at James with red eyes, "I feel like I’m sick, my head hurts a lot."

James Black immediately got anxious, sat directly on the bed’s edge, and reached out to feel Jane Sampson’s forehead.

Her body temperature seemed fine, so James asked, "Where are you uncomfortable?"

"Throat feels a bit itchy, headache, the temples hurt intermittently, like something is drilling hard inside," Jane said, "Maybe I caught a cold from the morning’s chill a few days ago, and didn’t rest well last night, that’s why."

"Very painful?" James Black asked gently, rubbing Jane’s temple with his fingertips.

Seeing her red eyes, she looked so pitiful and miserable, James felt a bit distressed and guilty, wondering if he hadn’t taken care of her well enough.

"Yes, very painful." Jane Sampson nodded.

"Put on some clothes; I’ll take you to the hospital." James got up and went to the cloakroom to fetch Jane’s clothes.

"Hey~"

"!!!!"

Jane watched James’s back, feeling truly anxious as she called out to him to no avail.

Go to the hospital?

No way!

If she goes, the doctor will surely send her back home!

"James, I just have a little cold and didn’t rest well last night, I’ll drink plenty of hot water and sleep for a while, then I’ll be fine." Jane hastily sat up.

"A minor cold can get better with some medicine, but headaches should not be overlooked." James took Jane’s clothes and walked out, "You slept well last night, the headache isn’t because of bad sleep, so going to the hospital for a check-up is more reassuring."

James walked to the bed’s edge, saying, "Have some blood taken, get an X-ray, let the doctor examine if there’s another cause."

Jane Sampson dodged to the side, anxiously scratching the back of her head.

What to do?

Really go to the hospital and then sheepishly get sent back home?

"I won’t go~ I’ll just lie at home for a bit and I’ll be fine." Jane shook her head repeatedly, "I know my body, really just lying down for a bit is enough." 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢

"Hurting like that, you must go to the hospital," James said, "You’ve never had headaches like this before, sudden headaches absolutely cannot be ignored, listen to me, have it checked at the hospital, for your peace of mind and mine."

After saying this, seeing that Jane was still holding the quilt and not moving, he frowned, "You’re not afraid to take medicine, having blood drawn isn’t all that painful either, it’s in the physical every year, and you’re not afraid, why the reluctance to go to the hospital?"

"I just won’t go." Jane shook her head, then pushed James lightly, "You go for your run, I’ll just sleep for a while and I’ll be okay."

Seeing he couldn’t persuade Jane, James went straight for the tough approach.

He dressed Jane in her clothes, and then directly picked her up from the bed.
