The approaching group finally seemed to have found themselves as the brute that had intercepted Khalifa with his bare palms suddenly punched out and for the first time ever, I saw someone use something I’d been abusing since forever..

His punch hit the atmosphere with a concussive force, a shockwave rocking and sending both Melissa and Khalifa flying backward.

They righted themselves in the air as they landed gracefully..

Melissa kept silent as her head lowered softly, but I could still feel her killing intent rising..

"You might want to step back a bit, darling" Kaila whispered softly as she and Khalifa retreated after seeing Melissa’s current appearance, pulling both me and Cara with them..

My confusion was plain for all to see, yet no sooner had they distanced themselves from Melissa that I saw the most overwhelming display of power I’d seen from anyone within my generation...

The leading youth spoke once again in that dialect, as the air twisted before the golden giant..

No sooner had their preparations finished that Mel exploded and I meant that literally..

I had always fancied myself a very destructive person, but the moment the explosion from Melissa’s attack hit, I realized I was still a ways off from claiming true destruction...

I couldn’t pay attention to her mutterings as I was currently marveling at the beautiful destruction before me..

The entire platform.. scratch that, what platform? The whole thing was unmade instantly, the runes meant to reinforce it winking out of existence without putting up so much as a fight..

The entire plaza shook like it was suffering from a category 8 earthquake, buildings lit up like light bulbs as runes struggled to maintain structural integrity..

But this was merely just collateral damage..

The true ones to suffer were the approaching group..

The towering golden giant was engulfed in a raging, roaring inferno that somehow burnt harder than what I’d ever felt before..

I’ve felt the heat of flames that were channeled from the essence of the sun itself, yet the heat from these flames dwarfed those and not by a little margin...

A roar of pain and rage rang out as the golden giant yelled, its golden skin bubbling like overheated liquid...

The leading youth spoke in that dialect once again, the wounds and effects of the flames being negated from the golden giant, only for a brief moment before they reappeared, this time worse..

"DARIUSSSSSS!!! Do something or I’ll fucking kill you if I survive this madwoman’s rampage" the golden giant screamed in pain and rage..

"Sigh... fine.."

The leading youth finally stepped out from behind the golden giant and into the roaring inferno.

The flames roared and surged, threatening to devour him, but..

"I don’t think so" his calm voice stopped the roaring inferno in its wake..

"Melissandre, that’s enough" the youth spoke calmly, unbothered by the temperature..

[Chaotic comprehension activating..]

My eyes widened as my ability activated the moment the leading youth made a move..

"Darius, give me that bitch or don’t expect to be leaving here whole" Melissa’s cold reply came soon after, she seemed unbothered by the fact that her flames weren’t having any effects on the youth..

"Heh... okay, I admit, Eleanor might’ve been excessive in attacking the young man, but I think you’ve made her pay enough right? Can’t we call it quits now while everyone is ahead?" The youth smiled calmly as he regarded Melissa, something about the way he was looking at Melissa was ticking me off..

"I won’t ask twice Darius, do not think your petty tricks can save you from my rage" Melissa’s cold response made me smile proudly..

"Petty tricks? Dear Melisandre, those words of yours are a bit too arrogant no?" He continued smiling, like he and Melissa were close friends..

"Do not call my name so casually you swine, now give me that bitch or suffer my rage"..

My smile widened, that’s how my woman should reply to any delusional man thinking himself hot shit..

The youth’s smiling expression faded as his face turned cold..

"I’m giving you face, do not mistake that for me being afraid, Melissandre"..

"I told you, DO NOT CALL MY NAME LIKE WE’RE FUCKING CLOSE!!" Her yell seemed to have empowered her flames as they broke through whatever the youth had caused to stop them, the young man’s eyes widened as he vanished from his standing point, his figure materializing behind Mel before she could even react..

"I told you, you have no chance at winning" the young man struck with an open palm, dark blue scales coating the entire arm as his blow seemed to hit before he even moved, at least that’s what it looked like to me, yet before I could worry for Melissa,

"And I told you.. that bitch or you get hurt" her cold response sent the young man’s pupils narrowing into pin pricks..

"Seems you chose to be hurt instead, my pleasure then."

"HOW!!!!—"

Swoooshhhh....

His exclamation was cut short as a slender fist wrapped in raging flames struck his face point blank, his own punch having been blocked by a shimmering flame barrier that clung to Melissa like a second skin..

Following a satisfying crunching sound, no doubt the sound of bones breaking, the youth received a treatment I was familiar with, only this time, his was infinitely more painful..

His figure disappeared in the skyline as the raging inferno erupted in renewed fury..

"Now... where were we?" Melissa’s blank eyes settled back on the struggling group as her aura erupted once more, her expression one that clearly said she was either murdering that elf or the entire group if they tried to stop her..

Once again, I found all the blood rushing to my lower region as a massive tent was instantly pitched down there..

Nothing was hotter, I meant that literally and figuratively, than a woman out for murder on behalf of her beloved, especially when she was that overpowered..
