At these words, the entire class quieted down, I myself sat up properly as I could finally get a glimpse into the levels beyond SSS..

"What are these Law stages we speak of?"

"Well, it’s easy to understand."

The old man paused, his eyes scanning the entire classroom, making sure we were all following, before he continued...

"After your transformation, your attributes would’ve been completely infused into your body, whatever you had from before your transformation began, would become one with your entire being, what this means now, is that you can no longer grow via attributes, they have essentially become void, your progress in your physical and mental attributes would be stuck at whatever they were before your transformation began, this is why most emphasize on capitalizing every opportunity to break through your attributes thresholds, because once transformation begins, you’re set for life.."

The whole class took a deep breath, while realization dawned on me..

"So that’s why even now, I couldn’t find any new student beyond the C-rank." It seems they’d all been advised by their elders before hand, that’s why they were slowing down their progress, they wanted to achieve whatever maximum they were capable of achieving within each rank...

These are what we call the three law stages or stages of law if you will."

This wasn’t the first time I’d come across the term "law" since I’d already inadvertently started comprehending something called [SUPREME]<Law of Death> from my death grandpas a few days ago, but I had no idea just what it was or how powerful that law was supposed to be, since apparently, I had no business getting into contact with anything involving laws until the transformation stages..

"We shall begin with the first stage, Law comprehension" the old man’s voice broke me out of my thoughts...

"At this stage of power and even beyond, your genius becomes truly tested, since what you’ll be needing isn’t more fire power but a brilliant comprehension."

"Yes, the Law comprehension stage, just like it’s name, is all about the laws you can comprehend before integration.."

"There are an innumerable number of minor laws and 3000 major laws, once again, at this stage, the importance of your bloodline and talent ranks begin to shine, this is because, those who managed to get to the law stages without impressive talents, only ever comprehend minor laws and that too with considerable effort that would never be worth the results."

"But those with talents and bloodlines above the saint rank, are almost always guaranteed to comprehend laws associated with their said bloodline and talents because you would have been incredibly attuned to your various abilities, thus significantly lessening the whole process of comprehension."

Most of the students sat up straighter, it seemed they weren’t joking when they called them elites, because if my suspicions were true, then there were probably not just a few with bloodlines or talents or maybe even both, that are beyond the saint rank..

"Now as for laws above major laws, we’ve only accounted for a few, namely:

And a few others, these laws are known as the Supreme laws, and they’re infinitely more powerful than anything below them.."

"Comprehending anyone of these will be enough to place you head and shoulders above your peers with little ever being a match for you."

"But before you get excited, I’ll have you know that the requirements for Comprehending any of these are beyond strict, nigh impossible to meet..

For one, most of these laws are tied to talents and bloodlines that are at the bare minimum of the Supreme rank, you know what that means? It means without a supreme ranked bloodline or talent, you can forget about ever comprehending any of these.."

"Yet even with a supreme bloodline or talent, you’d still be hard pressed to comprehend them, because while transformation might have made you perfectly in tune with your abilities, your comprehension prowess is another matter entirely"

"If your comprehension wasn’t heaven defying, then you can also forget about comprehending anyone of these.."

"Now, there are naturally exceptions to things and people, so while it is a general consensus that law comprehension begins after transformation, the truly extraordinary don’t let such a thing tie them down."

"Now, why am I telling you this? It is because it has somewhat become tradition and if you should fail, then you would be know as the first elite class failures in all of Aeternum history...no pressure." The old man laughed..

But he was the only one laughing, the entire atmosphere had gone tense..

The monkey had said earlier that our batch had some of the most talented students the school has seen in some years now, but here I was hearing that the elite class before us, had all comprehended laws before the transformation stages?

And this wasn’t something new but a recurring event?

"Damn.."

"Hahahahahahaha.... Hey.. Hey.. Hey... this is much better isn’t it? Finally some pressure, hahahaha... I can’t wait, I can already feel my blood boiling in excitement." A boisterous laugh broke the tense atmosphere as the monkey sitting beside me got up dramatically, hands spreading outwards as he spoke grandly..

I found it funny, but it seemed to have worked as the atmosphere went from tense to charged, they were all geniuses, they’d been called the best batch yet, they weren’t going to allow previous nobodies show them up..

I could see the resolve and determination in their eyes and I couldn’t help my own rising excitement..

I wasn’t bothered in the least about my comprehension.

With Chaotic Comprehension, I was probably the most talented person here, if I had a look I was sure I could comprehend a minor law in moments, so I wasn’t so much as shaken..

"Good, that’s the spirit, now let me give you more motivation.."

"Remember when I told you that supreme laws are next to impossible to comprehend? Well, I lied, as there have been in fact four people in recent times that have comprehended some of these elusive laws.."

"As for the other three, one belongs to the ancient Elowyn family,although she has explicitly declared herself unaffiliated with anyone, her name still rings true everywhere, Life’s Breath, Clarissa Elowyn..

From her name, it is clear the law she’d comprehended, The SUPREME Law of Life."

"As for the other two, they went on to become the first ever PARAGONS, one bearing the Epithet, PARAGON OF WAR, the other bearing the Epithet, GOLDEN VANQUISHER."

The moment I heard those words, my entire body froze..

"That’s.." wasn’t that what my death grandpas called father? Golden Vanquisher? And War, wasn’t that Valen?..

"Both were once students of this very academy and both had comprehended those laws before they ever touched the transformation stages, in their era, they were their only competition, the greatest of rivals and the best of brothers." the old man smiled, a nostalgic expression flashing past his face..

"But this, was merely their titles, epithets bestowed on them by fallen foes and admirers alike, but their names, their true names, you should do well to remember, for they were once students like you, sitting in this Same hall, listening to these same words of mine now, take their names as your ultimate motivation."

"The PARAGON OF WAR, The envoy of Massacre itself, Valen "the berserker" Wildeheart.."

That was the sound of my heart beating as I waited for the next name to be called..

"The GOLDEN VANQUISHER, Bearer of Extinction itself, Regulus "ABSOLUTION" Von Draken!"
