Chapter 196: Chapter 195:S-rank Mutated Dungeon.

"Hey, hey, hey... that’s Valen! You’re Valen! That’s fucking VALEN!!!! Woohoooo!!!! I’ve hit gold!!" The monkey was suddenly very excited when he saw the old man, but my attention was on something else entirely...

"Hey, old man. Who’d you offend, and why did they bless you with a panda’s eye?"

The moment I’d asked that question, I could see a flash of resentment in the old man’s eyes as he looked at me.

Resentment? Why would he feel that? It wasn’t like I was the reason he was sporting a panda’s eye right?

"Alright... let’s get to training."

"What? Old man, that’s not what I’m here for." I backed up immediately.

The last training session I’d had with this crackhead, saw me get folded like wet laundry, and now hearing the words "training" after seeing resentment in his eyes? Yea, like hell I’d allow that..

"Whatever it is you came for, it can wait. Training always comes first, we need you to grow up big and strong. Right?"

"Yea. Fuck no!!"

"Ughhhh.... I hate you, my friend.. I really hate you." Malachi groaned as his figure lay still beside me..

We’d both, as expected, been walloped like no tomorrow.

The old man was especially heavy handed against me, leading to more than a few shattered bones and displaced organs..

Once again, I was reminded of the vast gap between us.

I hadn’t hoped at competing with him.

But with my newest comprehensions of TIME, INEVITABILITY and HEAT, I was atleast expecting to put up a fight.

And truthfully, the three laws did show why they were called SUPREME!

Inevitability made sure my attacks always hit.

Heat had me trying to vaporize his ridiculously dense blood.

Time had me freezing the world every now and then.

The old man had been taken by surprise..

He’d recognized them. Not the laws themselves, but their distinctions.

Yet, it was all futile.

The laws were powerful.

Hell, I’d even used TIMELESS SERIES and Zero Distance multiple times and they all worked..

The laws and their applications were absolutely horrifying, but my level of comprehension, was not.

So, when you put someone with barely a rudimentary comprehension of three Supreme laws against someone who had probably already exceeded the Law integration stage, with not one but TWO, supreme laws, the outcome tends to already be decided no matter what you did.

Because somebody tell me how I was supposed to fight against someone who’s very existence, Negated the concept of damage.

It wasn’t a method of defense.

It wasn’t a counter.

He was just saying NOPE to the concept of being hurt, which got me all the more curious as to how someone like that, could be sporting a black eye, and one that had yet to heal even now.

Anyways, that’s that, me and the monkey got folded the moment the old man had his fun.

Now he was sitting there, trying to act like he hadn’t just done an act of transferring aggression..

"Heh.. If only I knew the person who did that.. I’d probably tell them you were acting out again, let’s see you pick on someone your own size." The old man’s face twitched violently at my words, I could’ve sworn I saw his body shiver..

"Alright... you two, tell me what brought you here." A few moments of silence later, the old man’s voice finally broke the ice..

"Heh.. not gonna continue venting? I’m sure whoever gave you that will love to do the same to the other one." I should really learn to control my mouth, but it seemed the old man was finally getting himself together...

"Haaa.. just tell me what you want and leave.." he sighed, seeing his demeanor, I decided to mercifully let him off..

"I came to ask for a suitable mission, the ones at the hall were ass, and the cool ones were off limits." I finally made my intentions known..

"Hmm? Ah.. yes.. I remember that rule. No new students are allowed to take tasks above their grades until they’ve proven themselves Capable." Valen mused quietly..

"Prove? After what we did during the enrollment ceremony, is there anything else to prove?" Malachi asked, genuinely confused..

"Hmm? It seems you boys are getting a bit ahead of yourselves." Valen stood, his hands clasped behind him as he went full lecture mode..

"You’re strong, as I’ve said, among your peers, you’re monsters."

"But you are yet to meet the true monsters of this academy, fellow students like yourself that are capable of making established powerhouses on the outside tremble in fear."

"Have you ever fought a true transformation stage existence? I assure you, it’s not the easy fight your heads are making it up to be."

He finally turned towards us, face solemn, as he advised us earnestly.

"Pride goeth before fall, that’s a saying as old as time. Do not let your current achievements fool you, for I assure you, there are definitely those, not instructors , but fellow students like yourselves, that are unimaginably more powerful than you two."

"Hell, Dante, you’re living with a few."

The place went quite after he finished..

I wasn’t all that shaken.

Not when I knew he was right.

Darius, that snake, already showed that the waters of this place ran deeper than we thought..

And as for Mel and the girls? Yea, I didn’t doubt that either, Melissa had punched through frozen time, says a lot about her true abilities.

"I’m sorry instructor, forgive my behavior and thank you for the lesson." All of a sudden, Malachi did a 360 as he gave a solemn bow of gratitude..

"Wow, a student that actually shows appreciation, how I wish there were more of your type out there."

I shrugged off the stray bullet, going back to what had brough me here..

"So old man, got anything good?" I asked excited.

"Actually? I do." The old man pulled out a display crystal from his storage device, the thing turning on to show a landscape of devastation and carnage.

Corpses strewn carelessly, like worthless trash.

"What.. caused this?" Malachi asked..

"Something many have wished they would never experience." The room got heavier...

"A mutated dungeon break".

I stopped dead in my tracks..

A dungeon.

I had almost forgotten, in all that was going on, I had almost forgotten that there were actual dungeons within this world..

And now, it seems I’m about to go try my hands on a very nasty one.

"So, you’re sending us in as damage control?" I asked.

"No, I’m sending you guys in as the extermination squad."

Now, that was something I liked to hear.

"I had plans of putting up the assignment on the mission board, but since you’re here, might as well take it." The old man took our cards and registered the mission.

"The place is a city located on the Outskirts of the Western Continent’s Thousand Mile Mountain."

"Wait! That’s from the western continent?" Malachi suddenly exclaimed, drawing both mine and valen’s attention.

"What’s wrong?" I asked.

"The western continent, that’s my home continent."

Well that’s new?

"Huh? I thought you were from the central continent?"

"Why would anyone want to be from this place filled with snakes and conspiracies." The monkey suddenly got excited.

"Hahahahah!! Finally!! I get to show you my home, YES!"

I couldn’t help shaking my head at the floundering monkey.

"So, old man, what rank is this dungeon?" I asked, eager to know exactly what type of threat I was facing.

"Oh? It’s nothing that difficult."

I was almost disappointed, until the old man’s next words.

"It’s only an S-rank mutated dungeon, nothing too much for you boys to handle!" I froze.

Suddenly getting excited.

"Since you boys seem to need a reality check, then allow me to use this mission as one, let you see just what horrors await beyond those thin lines that separates mortals from those that have begun their transformation!"

A/N: well, that’s not ominous at all....

We finally get to see what "big butt and big breasted" women this monkey claims are more beautiful than my girls.. humph!
