Chapter 32: Chapter 32: Fiery Prison Fire Wolf King

Shen Haoran followed behind Elder Yan and Changmao, racing through the mountain forest. Soon, they arrived outside a massive cave.

"So this is the place?" Seeing Elder Yan and Changmao come to a halt, Shen Haoran asked as he sized up the enormous cave.

"The treasure is definitely inside this cave, but it seems there’s a little puppy in there too," Changmao said, twitching his nose and sniffing the air.

"A little puppy?" Shen Haoran was puzzled. ’What the hell is he talking about?’

Hearing this, Elder Yan shot Changmao a sideways glance, plucked a leaf from a nearby branch, and flicked it toward the cave.

"SWOOSH!" A sound of something slicing through the air rang out. The leaf, infused with Elder Yan’s Spiritual Thought, cut through the air like a throwing knife and shot into the cave!

"ROAR!" After the leaf flew into the cave, a world-shaking beast’s roar erupted from within. The tremendous sound was like a clap of thunder on a clear day, utterly deafening. The terrifying sonic wave sent the surrounding trees swaying violently, and leaves rained down with a RUSTLE, RUSTLE, RUSTLE. Shen Haoran nearly lost his footing and fell from the tree branch!

Once the sound wave dissipated, a massive figure appeared at the mouth of the cave. Shen Haoran focused his gaze and instantly sucked in a sharp breath! Appearing before him was a gigantic Fiery Prison Fire Wolf, its body towering over two stories high!

The Fiery Prison Fire Wolf stood at the cave entrance, looking around. Its eyes glinted with a human-like fury! It let out a low growl, and small clusters of flames occasionally flickered from its fur, making it look like a Demon escaped from Hell!

"ROAR!" The Fiery Prison Fire Wolf let out another deafening roar, and a terrifying aura erupted from its body, like a King descending upon the world. Under its oppressive presence, rocks tumbled down the mountainside, and the world itself seemed to lose its color. It was a horrifying sight!

"This... this is a fucking ’little puppy’? Are you kidding me!" Seeing the terrifying Fiery Prison Fire Wolf, Shen Haoran couldn’t help but curse out loud. In his mind, he cursed all eighteen generations of Changmao’s ancestors!

’Judging by this Fiery Prison Fire Wolf’s aura, it has to be at least a Tier Four Spirit Beast! Thank goodness Elder Yan tested the waters. If I had listened to Changmao and rushed in recklessly, I’d have been torn to shreds by now!’

Seeing Shen Haoran’s anger, Changmao lowered his head and said aggrievedly, "It *is* just a little puppy. Back in the old days, I wouldn’t even have wanted it to guard my house!"

"You..." Shen Haoran was speechless. He had gotten so used to bullying Changmao these past few days that he’d forgotten his true identity was the Ancient Divine Beast Taotie!

"Alright now. I didn’t expect a Tier Five Spirit Beast King to be guarding this place either. It seems that item is definitely in there," Elder Yan said, looking at the giant Fiery Prison Fire Wolf.

"A Spirit Beast King? You’re saying this is the King of that pack of Fiery Prison Fire Wolves I killed earlier?"

"That should be right!"

"Then what do we do? With this behemoth blocking the way, doesn’t that mean we have no chance of getting the treasure you mentioned, Elder Yan?" Shen Haoran said with a long face.

"Who says we have no chance? We must get that item. It’s closely related to the gift I plan to give you!" Elder Yan said.

"Get it? How are we supposed to get it? This is a Tier Five Spirit Beast. Can we even kill it?"

"Who said we have to kill it? We just need to lure it away!" Elder Yan was starting to worry about Shen Haoran’s intelligence.

"Oh, right!" Shen Haoran’s eyes lit up.

"But who’s going to do it? I definitely can’t. I’d probably be killed in one hit the moment I showed my face..." Shen Haoran said helplessly.

"I can’t go either. Without me, you two won’t be able to retrieve the item!" Elder Yan said, shaking his head.

"Then that only leaves..." At this, both Elder Yan and Shen Haoran turned to look at Changmao.

"Holy crap, you’re not planning to make me go, are you!" Changmao yelped, seeing the unfriendly looks from Elder Yan and Shen Haoran.

"You’re the only one left. Who else could it be?" Shen Haoran said, grinning at Changmao.

"I’m not going! I’m a noble Divine Beast! How could I do something like being bait? Not going! You can kill me, but I’m not going!" Changmao said, turning his head away defiantly.

"Cut the crap. Off you go!" Seeing Changmao’s defiance, Shen Haoran reached out, grabbed him, and simply flung him out!

"WHAT THE FUCK!" The sudden turn of events caught Changmao completely off guard. He was thrown directly in front of the Fiery Prison Fire Wolf King.

Seeing the small beast that had suddenly appeared, the Fiery Prison Fire Wolf King leaned in close, blasting Changmao in the face with a hot breath from its nostrils.

"Uh... would you believe me if I said I’m just passing by?" Changmao swallowed hard and said, looking at the drooling Fiery Prison Fire Wolf King.

"ROAR!" However, the only answer he received was a terrifying roar, followed immediately by a swipe of its claw!

"AHH! Shen Haoran, I’ll get you for this!" Seeing the Fiery Prison Fire Wolf King attack without a second thought, Changmao shrieked and took off running. His cries echoed around the cave, lingering for a long time.

After watching Changmao and the Fiery Prison Fire Wolf King run off into the distance, Shen Haoran clapped his hands, jumped down from the tree, and said to Elder Yan, "Let’s go, Elder Yan. Time to find that thing!" Seeing Shen Haoran walk into the cave, Elder Yan could only offer a moment of silent prayer for Changmao in his heart before following after him.

The moment the two of them entered the cave, a foul, fishy stench assaulted them, so strong it made Shen Haoran’s eyes water.

"Damn, this Spirit Beast has terrible hygiene!" Shen Haoran griped.

"Alright, hurry up and find the item. A Tier Five Spirit Beast’s Spiritual Wisdom isn’t low. The moment it senses something is wrong, it will definitely come straight back. We’ll be dead for sure then!" Elder Yan urged.

"Yeah, got it!" Hearing this, Shen Haoran didn’t dare to delay any longer and immediately started searching.

Shen Haoran and Elder Yan moved quickly. In no time, they had turned the entire place upside down, but they found nothing!

"That can’t be right. Logically, it should be here!" Elder Yan said, puzzled.

"What’s this?" Suddenly, Shen Haoran spotted a tuft of red fur on the ground, which looked like it had fallen from the Fiery Prison Fire Wolf King!

Hearing him, Elder Yan rushed to Shen Haoran’s side. He looked at the red fur on the ground and finally discovered the trick. Then, Elder Yan struck the ground with his palm, and a dark opening abruptly appeared!

"What a well-hidden tunnel!" Shen Haoran exclaimed in amazement.

"Hmph, this beast is pretty clever. It knew to cover the entrance with loose dirt. If it weren’t for this tuft of fur, it would have been very difficult to find!" Elder Yan remarked.

"Let’s go, I’ll go down and take a look!" After circling the opening once, Shen Haoran jumped straight in.

The tunnel descended straight down, and its sides were quite smooth. It looked like the Fiery Prison Fire Wolf King had put a lot of effort into digging it! Shen Haoran slid down the tunnel and soon lost sight of the entrance above.

"This tunnel is deep!" Shen Haoran said with a frown. He had already been sliding for five minutes, and there was still no end in sight!

Seeing Shen Haoran sliding uncontrollably forward, Elder Yan quickly used his Spiritual Thought to pull him back. Only then did Shen Haoran’s speed decrease, and he finally stopped right at the edge of the cliff! Looking at the precipice just inches away, Shen Haoran let out a long sigh of relief.

When he came back to his senses and looked around, he couldn’t help but gasp again! The space he was in was actually an underground Lava World!

In the vast Underworld, crimson lava flowed slowly. Occasionally, huge bubbles would rise to the surface of the lava, only to burst a moment later with a soft POP, spraying scorching hot magma outward like brilliant fireworks!

Shen Haoran and Elder Yan stared at the boundless Lava World before them and exclaimed in awe, "I can’t believe this tunnel leads directly to an underground Lava World! It’s magnificent!"

"Look, Elder Yan, what’s that?" Shen Haoran suddenly spotted something and pointed to a stone platform not far away. Atop the platform, a flower resembling a Red Lotus was slowly rotating.

Elder Yan followed his gaze. When he saw the Red Lotus on the stone platform, his face lit up with joy as he said, "That’s the treasure I was talking about, the Red Flame Jade Marrow!"
