Chasing His Ex: The Tycoon's Hidden Twins
Chapter 140 - 135: Lu Fan Investigates the Blind Date Partner, Yixia Gets Jealous
「An hour earlier.」
Jiang Ming had successfully added the girl Mrs. Jiang introduced him to.
Jiang Ming had assumed he’d just exchange a few pleasantries, and she’d promptly leave him to gather dust in her contacts list.
But he never expected this blind date to be so forward and enthusiastic.
NoCilantro: [Hey there~]
Jiang Ming: [Hello.]
NoCilantro: [Let me introduce myself. My name is Ma Xiaofei. What about you?]
Jiang Ming: [I’m Jiang Ming.]
NoCilantro: [I heard from my aunt that you’re also in Yangcheng. Is that right? Whereabouts?]
Jiang Ming: [I’m in the Bai Mountain District.]
NoCilantro: [Me too! Hey, why don’t we meet up? Even if we don’t work out as a couple, it would be nice to make a new friend.]
Her proactiveness took Jiang Ming by surprise.
He even felt that something was a little off.
NoCilantro: [It’s because I’ve been on two or three blind dates this year and wasn’t really satisfied with any of them. My mom keeps nagging me to get married, and I also feel like I’m getting a bit old, so I’ve decided to be a little more forward. I hope you don’t mind!]
Perhaps she had anticipated his reservations.
She explained herself in advance.
Hearing her reason, Jiang Ming finally relaxed.
After all, he had been on several blind dates himself over the past two years, all of which ended in failure.
Maybe this time would be a good start.
Jiang Ming had originally suggested a restaurant, but Ma Xiaofei felt it wasn’t time for a meal yet and proposed they meet at a bubble tea shop instead.
It was this very suggestion that gave Jiang Ming a slightly better impression of her.
So, the two arranged to meet at a Starbucks near Zhengjia Square.
Soon, Jiang Ming arrived at the Starbucks to wait.
He played on his phone and didn’t rush Ma Xiaofei.
After all, based on his past blind date experiences, women were usually at least half an hour late.
Unexpectedly, however, Ma Xiaofei arrived right on time.
Upon seeing Jiang Ming, she immediately quickened her pace into a light jog to reach him.
The clacking of her high heels from her hurried steps was enough to make everyone nearby turn and look.
Coupled with Ma Xiaofei’s great figure, and the form-fitting skirt she wore that revealed a pair of long, sexy legs, she instantly became the center of attention.
She sat down in front of Jiang Ming and greeted him with a smile, "Hello, you must be Teacher Jiang?"
"Hello, it’s a pleasure to meet you." Jiang Ming took a good look at his blind date.
He had to admit, she looked almost exactly like her WeChat profile picture.
Very beautiful and sexy.
She even had a natural, alluring charm.
Ma Xiaofei said with a grin, "Teacher Jiang, you’re much more handsome than I imagined, and you’re tall, too."
Her words instantly boosted Jiang Ming’s confidence. He replied with awkward modesty, "Not at all, not at all. I just have average looks."
"Don’t be so modest, Teacher Jiang. You’re very handsome," Ma Xiaofei continued to praise him.
Jiang Ming seized the opportunity to say, "I think you’re very beautiful."
"Haha, thanks~"
Jiang Ming seemed to snap back to reality and quickly asked, "Oh, right, what would you like to drink?"
"I’ll have a Frappuccino."
"Okay."
Jiang Ming went to the counter to order and pay.
After all, when you take a girl out on a blind date, you can’t let her be the one to pay.
Soon, Jiang Ming returned to Ma Xiaofei and asked, "By the way, what do you do for work?"
"I... I’m a physical therapist. Yes, I’m a physical therapist," Ma Xiaofei stammered slightly before nodding and confirming.
Jiang Ming was a little confused. "A physical therapist? You mean, like, giving patients therapeutic massages?"
"Yes, yes, yes." Ma Xiaofei nodded. "I give patients therapeutic massages to improve their wellness and treat aches in their shoulders and legs."
"Oh, I see. So you’re a doctor," Jiang Ming said with a hint of admiration.
Back when he was a student, he had wanted to be a doctor.
Unfortunately, his grades were far too low.
’What kind of doctor can a vocational college graduate be?’
’Unless he became a male nurse.’
Seeing that Jiang Ming thought of her as a doctor, Ma Xiaofei didn’t correct him, and the two continued chatting about topics they had in common.
During their conversation, perhaps because Ma Xiaofei felt the room was a bit warm, she took off her jacket.
As she was taking it off, Jiang Ming noticed a rose tattoo on the inside of her left arm.
Although his expression didn’t change much, other thoughts began to form in his mind.
’After all, growing up, his impression had always been that most young people with tattoos were delinquents.’
’Of course, there were surely some with good character.’
’But it was a stereotype and prejudice he still held onto.’
So, when he saw Ma Xiaofei’s tattoo, his favorable impression of her dropped slightly.
’A single rose tattoo on her left arm would have been fine on its own.’
’He was just worried there might be more tattoos on other parts of her body.’
Still, this Ma Xiaofei before him was just too beautiful, and they were hitting it off so well.
Over the course of more than an hour, they talked about everything from their hobbies to funny stories about each other.
For the most part, Jiang Ming was the listener, and Ma Xiaofei was the storyteller.
The topics and the rhythm of their conversation were so well-balanced that Jiang Ming even lost track of time.
Just as they were deep in conversation, Ma Xiaofei glanced at the time and explained awkwardly, "Oh, I’m sorry, I think I need to get back to the shop. I have an appointment with a client, so I have to go."
"Okay. How about I see you off?" Jiang Ming replied.
Ma Xiaofei paused for a moment. "You have a car?"
"I don’t have a car yet. I was thinking I could call a Didi and set your location as a stop along the way," Jiang Ming explained awkwardly.
"Oh, that’s okay! I can just get a Didi myself. Thanks for the drink~" Ma Xiaofei said with a wave, then turned and left.
Her easy-going and graceful manner also scored her more points in Jiang Ming’s book.
