Child of Destiny
Chapter 2179: The Great Sacrificial Ritual (Part 1)
...
Seeing how Dragulia had managed to nullify his earlier attack with ease, Poseidon seemed to have recalled something and could not help but wear a serious expression.
"Demonic Dragon of Terror?" he mumbled while his frown deepened with every second.
Poseidon’s words might have been low and got covered by the loud sounds that the violent tides and flood current were creating, but Dragulia was still able to hear them quite clearly.
"It seems like you’re guilds understanding of the Demonic Churches is not that shallow. To think that you are also able to know the ’Demon God’ that our believers worship," said Dragulia with a deep smile.
He stared at Poseidon for quite a while before saying. "You should go all out now, or else you will never have another chance for it later."
"I know that a Transcendent from the Ocean Race should have more than this," he added while pointing behind them. "That girl over there is also from the Ocean Race, but she seems to only be from the Siren Race, which is at most an Epic Race."
"Even though I am quite curious about the Siren Race, I still prefer facing off against the Transcendent Races. After all, it is more beneficial to eat more nutritious food rather than some snacks."
Hearing these words, Poseidon squinted his eyes, feeling insulted once again. However, before he could even explode with his temper, one of the two Elemental Spirits that he had contracted with suddenly warned him about something.
After listening to it for quite a while, Poseidon forcefully calmed himself down while keeping his card up.
"Oh~!" Dragulia could not help but raise his brows a little, feeling a bit impressed that the other party had managed to calm themselves down almost instantly.
"It does not matter. In the end, it will become a nutrient for me after I have absorbed your unique Mana Essence and Energy Signature," he smirked before giving the opposing party a provocative look.
Boom!
Not long after, Poseidon tapped the bottom of his [Divine Trident] on the surface of the raging water underneath his feet, summoning a group of huge water serpents that immediately attacked Dragulia without any hesitation.
The sizes of these water serpents were noticeably smaller than the water beast that he had summoned earlier, but the might and presence that they possessed far exceeded the latter.
Each of them felt like a King Class Monster of the Aurora Continent’s standard, posing a considerable threat even against Dragulia’s level.
However, despite all of these, every water serpent was ripped into shreds right after they got near Dragulia, who was supposed to be their target.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Their heads exploded first before their body turned into water drops that fell back into the flooding waters.
No matter how many came after him, they were all crushed under his presence, particularly the terrifying aura that he was passively emitting.
The others might not be able to see what was happening, but as the person who was being directly targeted by the opposing party, Poseidon could clearly see something different.
From his perspective, the terrifying aura that the opposing party was emitting was formed by the combination of the eerie demonic powers and majestic draconic powers.
These two overwhelming powers were forming a huge image of a Demonic Dragon behind Dragulia, who was arrogantly standing in the same spot up until now.
The image of the Demonic Dragon behind him was the one that was constantly making its move up until now, crushing everything that was coming its way.
Moreover, the aura of his opponent’s existence was constantly pressing on him, putting immense pressure on him.
He also felt a strange sensation that was constantly making him feel fear. It was as if something was forcing him to be terrified, especially in the presence of the opposing party.
He was enduring it because of his strong mental powers, but he could still feel that it was slowly getting stronger the more he was bathed in the presence of this Demonic Dragon before him.
Even the Elemental Spirits that he had contracted with were constantly being pressured by the opposing presence.
"This has become more troublesome than already is," mumbled Poseidon before taking the initiative to enter his Elemental Spirit Possession and unique combat state.
...
Bang! Bang! Bang!
In the meantime, on the other side of the battle, the clashes between Leviathan and the twin from the Divine Sound Sect were reaching a whole other level.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Felix managed to repel yet another attempt from the Ice Puppets of their opponent, sending them flying with the sonic waves that he created with his twin-bladed sword.
Felicia had never made her move up until now, seemingly trusting her twin brother to handle this battle on his own.
Moreover, she had never heard him ask for her assistance, so she just let him get his fill in this battle.
After all, this was his first time fighting seriously in a while. He had been acting as a dedicated guild leader up until now. Even if he had hidden something from his executives, which concerned such a huge secret, it was a necessary measure when it came to such situations.
Moreover, there was no one he fully trusted within the game aside from his twin sister, so it was only natural that he did not share such an important quest with others.
Because he was too absorbed with the duties of a Guild Leader, he rarely partook in any battles, especially in such a backwater place, where not many could match their might.
He had never found meaning in joining in these minor scuffles, only showing a bit of his strength whenever they encountered a decent expert.
"It has been a while since I’ve had such an entertaining opponent," mumbled Felix as he continuously tapped his twin-bladed sword, producing a series of sonic attacks that kept on firing at the incoming group of Ice Puppets and blasting them into pieces.
Leviathan did not make any drastic movements even after seeing that most of his Ice Puppets were being destroyed with ease.
After all, he could just replenish their numbers later.
Instead, he focused more on observing the other party while also recording the entire process, which he would use later for his report.
Since it was rare to find people from hidden sects even in the real world, it was better to gather as much information as they could, especially when it concerned possible geniuses for the said power.
Given the demeanor that Felix had and the skills and techniques that he was using, Leviathan could tell that they were not someone ordinary within the Divine Sound Sect, especially after seeing that swordsmanship fused with sound arts.
He was not familiar with the unique methods of the Divine Sound Sect, but they should be experts in sound arts solely based on the information that they had in them.
As for the greatest legacy of that sect, it was said to be the swordsmanship combined with sound arts, which he was currently seeing right now.
The one that bothered Leviathan right now was Felicia, who had yet to make her move, even up until now. He had an ominous feeling coming from her, which made him extremely wary of her.
Aside from her, Leviathan was also somewhat bothered by something else. He did not know what exactly it was, but he was sure that something was hiding within the depths of the forest and was currently watching them from the dark.
This was another reason why he kept on hold his cards under his sleeves even up until now.
’I only have three clones right now, so I can’t be too careless. Creating and nurturing them require quite a lot of resources, so I can’t just throw them around,’ said Leviathan to himself while looking at his skill panel.
These were his trump cards and lifesaving skills, so he could not carelessly use them.
Aside from gathering information, Leviathan was also delaying for time. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞
’Great Sacrifice will be commencing sooner as well,’ he thought while looking at another panel, which showed him a map that projected a great portion of the Lesser Kingdom of Juron, particularly the regions around the Oath City.
There were a bunch of lights blinking on the virtual map, indicating the positions of their people and the ones that from the alliance that the Titan Guild had created. There were also scattered lights representing independent players or groups.
The NPCs could also be seen through this map, seemingly monitoring all the movements throughout the regions.
However, these lights could only be shown by the ’marked’ people that their scouts had come in contact with, so there were still other people who had escaped their monitoring methods.
From this virtual map, Leviathan could see the entire surroundings and the players within it. Unfortunately, aside from them, who were currently fighting each other, the hidden enemies remained unseen until now.
’Should I lure them out and figure out their intentions?’ Leviathan was slightly troubled by this ominous feeling, especially as the sacrificial ritual was about to begin.
"I can’t let any accidents happen. This can be a great opportunity to establish another channel toward the Hell Realms," he mumbled while his eyes were turning cold.
Thinking about this, he felt that he also needed to sacrifice one or two of his remaining clones. "I guess there is no better choice."
Right after coming up with this decision, he waved his hand and summoned one of his clones a few distance away from Felicia.
It took its form silently, appearing like a ghost.
