Chapter 712: Waking Up An Asura

Laz was in a massive dark space with a few nodes of light, shining here and there, Within the area though, he could sense other presences, one of which was super close to him.

The man came into view, his white and black hair seeming to glow with the dim light as his body became solid, a body Laz had just had many experiences in wearing armor that looked exactly like the armor that Laz was currently wearing. Even then, Laz didn’t recognize it as it wasn’t anything he had seen before this dream had occurred.

"I’m glad I was able to share my last moments with someone from our bloodline although even now I can tell that the obelisk of heroes no longer exists. Luckily the armor has it’s functions intact, even after all these years. I have no idea how it survived, but it did," the young man said, laughing a bit as he spoke to Laz.

"That was the beginning of the war with the Infernals, huh?" Laz asked, knowing that the man would know somehow.

"Yes. While my slight bit of stored conciseness doesn’t know of what happened, there is a small pool of knowledge that we can all pull from that helps keep our messages relevant. As I can tell, I was the first owner of this armor. But how it made it off the planet or who took it on next, I can’t tell you that. I’m sure they are in here somewhere, but in the interests of keeping our identities intact, we can never know one another. What you’re seeing right now is the bit of me that would have made it to the obelisk, had it survived. but even then, I can tell that there had been so much time that passed and yet our people, you, we... survived. That... helps me rest a little easier," The image said as it began to fade.

"You lived like a Asura and you died like an Asura, at least as far as I can tell, You should rest well knowing that. I don’t know the fate of our people, but I intend to find out eventually."

"I’m aware young one. Both of who you are and who you aren’t. Don’t worry. I’m just glad I was able to achieve this one dream of mine."

"You’re going to disappear?" Laz asked, seeing the body fade.

"Without the pillar to support our remanent souls, we can only transmit our message one time. I was about to be deleted, but suddenly your mind was able to fully link to the armor and I could at least have this last moment before i went. My name will stick with this armor though so one day, if you find a pillar, It will be engraved upon it. That’s all I can as for now. Good luck to you lad. May the strength of the Asura forever burn within your blood."

And with that, the figure of the young man blurred and was gone, but it did so with a smile on it’s face. Laz could tell that even though he was gone, he wasn’t really gone as now his memory lived within Laz. As for why he didn’t share his name? That was because he didn’t want to curse Laz with his final bit of karma. Laz knew the reason but he didn’t understand it.

Laz awoke to find himself within a hellscape. Beasts were charging around everywhere as humans engaged them on all fronts. As Laz moved, the armor covering him vanished, still there, but naked to the eye. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

*I’m glad you’re awake, but this isn’t the time. You need to fight, now,* Kat’s voice came into his head, a missed friend he hadn’t heard in a while.

Laz didn’t even hesitate as he unleashed his energy like a volcano erupting. Having just spent days upon weeks upon month fighting beings far stronger than these, Laz had gone through a mental change that harden him, made his mind like steel. Too often he had been fighting alone, fighting those weaker than himself or fighting those he had no way to defeat. But after the experiences as part of an army in his dreams, his mentality was now shocking. Even the strain from before was gone, the memories no longer a threat to him. What’s more, the man who’s life he had lived was both a blade user and a fire user, giving him insights he had never dreamed of.

With Sever in his right hand and a fist full of black flames in his left, Laz tore through the battle field, ripping apart the god beasts who had breached the wall somehow first before taking out the lesser ones with rains of black flames, freeing up those who were tied up to come to his beck and call.

"Break them one by one. Have the guards retreat while the solders advance. Groups of five move around and do not seperate. I’ll move to the wall. If you encounter a god beast that gets through, summon one of the goddesses to deal with it and keep it contained. Don’t go in for the kill but keep it distracted and keep your lives."

"The goddesses are all tied up right now," One of the death walkers said who Laz had saved.

"They won’t be soon. Relay the orders and get moving, now." Laz jumped stomping a Level 6 beasts head into paste as he arrived next to Clio.

"Miss me baby?" Laz said as he swung, removing the god beast’s head from it’s body in one fell swoop.

Laz then leaned in to kiss the surprised, almond skin goddess before backing away.

"Keep clear and move with the groups to take down the god beasts quickly. Don’t get in a protracted battle with them. They are trying to tie you up," Laz said as he spanked her ass, kissed her again then disappeared, his steps fast and light, as though he was flowing with the wind.

Clio was stunned for a moment before the embarrassment and heat in her body took her over. She could only mutter an ’asshole’ to herself before she went to do exactly what he had told her to do.

While Clio was still able to maintain herself with one arm, Erato was having difficulty handing a beast when her movements were impaired by the immense damage to her leg.

She had stumbled back and was about to get pounced on when a large ball of black flames stuck the ape-like beast from the side, sending it flying. While it tried to get the flames out, Laz walked over to Erato and helped her to her feet.

"Sorry I’m late. Give daddy a kiss," and without waiting for a reply, Laz kissed the surprised woman, even going so far as to stick his tongue in her mouth before breaking away.

"Give me a minute, alright?" Laz said as he bounded away. While the ape had put out most of the flames, Laz snuck up behind it, his movements as silent as a whisper. Just when the beast sensed something was wrong, Laz jumped and kicked the beast in the chest, sending it flying before running in close, throwing another ball of black flames, much smaller than the previous one, straight into it’s mouth and down it’s throat.

As the beast gasped at it’s mouth, then throat and finally chest, Laz walked back to Erato, gave her instructions similar to the ones he gave Clio, kissed her again and disappeared as fast as he had come, leaving Erato staring back at him in both wonder, relief and a bit of horror.

As she was looking in the direction of Laz’s exit, the ape-like breast exploded with a force that shook the mountain, but it’s body was quickly consumed by the black flame inside of it that burned it to ash in moments.

"Great... That shit head. Now I’m covered in blood, animal guts... and am turned on... fucker..."

Laz found Athena engaging with two high level seven beasts just below the rampart of the gates. Even with her impaired vision, she held them within range, not letting either of them to get into a blind spot, but using her moments and her spiritual sense to pin them down. Laz was going to jump in right away, but something caught his attention as a small creature shook a bush nearby. Sensing a god realm strength, Laz bolted towards it just when it was going to attack Athena from behind. Before the creature could register Laz was there, Laz had speared it’s body with his sword and cleaved it in half, the rat like creature dying while screaming and alerting the other’s to Laz’s presence.

Athena didn’t turn around as she sense the threat neutralized, but that didn’t stop Laz from walking up behind her, turning her around in his arms and planting a kiss on her lips as she body went stiff from shock.

As the confused beasts looked on, Laz kissed her even more deeply before she finally pushed him away, her massive spear pointed straight at him.

"YOU BASTARD!"

"Did you miss me?" Laz asked, grinning slightly.

Athena was just about to attack him when she saw Laz cough and pointed to the two beasts, one a large feline and the other a large land bird who seemed to both understand what had happened, but did not understand why it had happened. Laz’s actions had basically shorted their brains out for a brief moment.

"FINE. I’ll KILL THEM FIRST THEN KILL YOU NEXT!" Athena said, turning her attention back to her attackers before a small smile spread on her face that she wasn’t quite able to hid.
