Chapter 741: Almost Caught

Saanvi opened her eyes as a wave of power exploded out of her. Laz, standing nearby, spread out his own energy and easily contained the wave, preventing it from spreading from the room. When Saanvi opened her eyes, she saw Laz standing there as her heart beat echoed through the room, her blood flowing like lava through her veins. The first taste of power when one awakens can have lasting effects on the one who awakens as it also affects the body at the same time. For many, the change is little to none. For others though, the change is enough to twist their body into something that is no longer human. Most important in the process is the stability of the mind of the one awakening along with the source of their blood. Six arms and blue skin might indicate a sign of greatness on other worlds, but on this one such a thing would only lead to the person getting killed.

Saanvi fell to the ground as she ripped off her tank top, casting it aside like peeling off an old and uncomfortable skin. While on her knees, she dug her fingers into the stone that served as the ground and in places, cracking it slightly. But even then, there was too much energy raging wild in her body as she looked for any way to vent the excess power. Seeing Laz standing there, Saanvi lost her reason and attacked him. Laz’s room wasn’t nearly as big or spacious as the gym area, but it was empty except for the bed and the few things that had been gathered that Laz needed like clothing as he had kept them in the dark about the ring on his finger.

Saanvi attacked, not caring the slightest for Laz as every strike was one to kill or maim. But while she had gained some strength, without creativity, her attacks were simple and precise. It was only because of this that Laz had to be heavy handed with her since the amount of damage she could cause wouldn’t be worth letting her vent.

After dodging several times to tip her off balance, Laz grabbed her arms and pinned them behind her back. Saanvi tried to bite him, forcing Laz to wrap his arms around her chest and grab her by the neck.

"Behave yourself or I won’t be gentle," Laz said into her ear as her almost naked body struggled against his clothed self. With her hands pinned and her head under control, Saanvi started rubbing her legs up and down Laz’s, as though trying to be affectionate. But just as Laz thought something was wrong, she swung her head back, smashing it into Laz’s own. While he was fine, she was knocked forward by the blow and fell to her knees as stars swam in her eyes.

"Are you ok?" Laz asked, wondering if she had awakened from the surge yet. Her response was to jump at Laz again, her teeth aiming for Laz’s neck.

’You’ve got to be kidding me...’ Laz thought to himself as he grabbed her by the neck, mid air, and slammed her into the bed. Then getting on top of her, he pinned her arms to her body and trapped them between his legs. Reaching forward, Laz was going to try to calm her raging blood by connecting to her spiritual center via her head, but when he brought his hands up close, she attack again, biting him.

She couldn’t even break the skin. As such, she struggled with biting down while Laz’s hand came closer to her head. Just then a yell sounded outside Laz’s door.

"Kid. Get your ass out here, NOW!" Came the captain’s angry voice.

’SHIT!’ Laz thought to himself. He had put up the energy barrier but stopped paying attention to what happened outside of it since Saanvi was inside it now.

Without time to do anything else, Laz grabbed some rope and a sturdy gag out of his ring, tying up Saanvi before she could object and tied the gage into her mouth quickly, He then threw his blankets over her and walked over to the door, opening it.

"What.... awwwhhhh.... What do you want now captain? I was sleeping," Laz said, his tired and dry movements giving an air of having just woken.

"DR. Saanvi isn’t in her room and many are saying that you and her had gotten into a fight today," the captain started, convinced of his own theory as to what happened, that being that Laz had something to do with it.

"We exercised in the gym. She was looking for a sparring partner and apparently she didn’t have any good prospects among your team so she asked me and I agreed. I can’t really say it was a fight but yeah, Shelly and Jun were there. In fact, they saw her after we both went our separate ways. Maybe they know where she went after we separated?" Laz said, throwing the question back at him.

"I already spoke to them and they said she went back to her room!"

"Well there you go. So why the hell are you at my room?" Laz said, wondering if something was wrong with his brain. If he already knew that she had went back to her room, why was he here?

’Unless he knew she had come to my room. But had he known that, he wouldn’t be asking me where she was. Instead, he would be demanding entry. So... he’s fishing? Casting blame on me first to put me at odds with everyone else? Is he really that cunning? I might have misjudged his intelligence,’ Laz thought to himself.

"We already told you captain. Saanvi went back to her room after her shower. She wasn’t feeling too good and wanted a good sleep," Shelly said, standing behind the captain with an exasperated expression as though even she was wondering why he had dragged them all the way over here.

"Captain. Perhaps we would be spending our time better searching her room for any clues or contacting the Doctor?" Added Jun, having regretted reporting her absence to the captain. It had just so happened that they had wanted to check in on her but she wasn’t answering the pages. So they went to her room and found it empty and then happened to run into the captain at the same time, so they express their concerns.

Much to their surprise, the captain had jumped to some sort of conclusion and charged straight to Laz room. Hearing nothing but silence from outside the door, he still decided to demand an explanation from Laz before doing anything else.

Hearing this, Laz raised an eyebrow at the fuming captain.

"You didn’t even check with the doctor yet?" Laz knew she wasn’t there, but once again couldn’t help but wonder just why he would race here first.

Taken aback by this straightforward question, the captain didn’t know how to respond at first. After all, the cameras he had set up to watch Saanvi showed her door open and then close, but didn’t catch a figure coming or going. Since Laz was in a converted store room, there were no cameras around the former store room so he had no idea if she had actually come here or not. But since none of his other cameras caught any other door movement from anyone else’s door this was the first place he thought of.

He couldn’t explain that though.

"What’s the problem?" Sven asked, coming around the corner with Doctor Anton in tow, both looking like they had just woken up as well. The captain’s shouting had roused them both from sleep.

"Doctor! Did Saanvi come to visit you tonight?" The captain immediatly shot the question at the still half asleep man. Dr. Anton was about to answer no when he felt a subtle poke from the close standing Sven.

"Huh? What? Oh. Saanvi? Yeah. Yeah, she did. Why?"

Sven had caught a subtle head nod from Laz while the captain was focused on the doctor.

"See that cap? Told you she wasn’t feeling well. Wouldn’t the doctor be the first place you’d check?" Shelly asked him, feeling like he had blown this way out of proportion.

"So she’s still with you?" The captain then asked, apparently unwilling to let this go.

"My hubby gave her something to sleep and offered a spare bed for her so he would be close by if something else happened. Is that a problem?" Sven then asked, his mind connecting the dots and getting ahead of the problem.

"Then I need to..."

"No. You don’t. She doesn’t feel good and needs her sleep. You can speak to her in the morning. Now quit being an ass and let everyone else here return to bed as well," Sven said, not even letting him have a chance to ask. He was the captain of the base, not their boss. They had their own duties and assignments and his only job was making sure things went smoothly around here for them and was only in command in an emergency which this obviously wasn’t.

"Fine. Tomorrow then I shall get a full report from her first thing..."

"She will come find you when she’s ready. You come knocking on my door and wake us up and you will find out just how grumpy I can get! Let’s go," Sven answered then grabbing the Doctor’s hand, they went back the way they came. Shelly and Jun then did the same as Laz just waved his hand at the captain and went back into his own room, putting the barrier up once again to prevent any sound or anything else from leaking out just in case. Using a bare hint of his sense, he cast it outside the door only to find the captain still standing there and staring at it with a murderous look in his eye. After a few moments of this, he turned away and went down the hall.

Laz let out a small sigh before turning to his bed, only to find it empty. Laz only had a brief moment to scan the the room before a warm body pounced on him and as though several hands were moving at once, he was stripped naked before he could even see what attacked him. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖

Saanvi pulled away, the faint outline of several arms behind her disappearing as her faint breath hit his nose along with another, much more primal smell.

She only said two words while clinging on to him like a koala bear,

"Fuck me..."
