Chillin' on an Uninhabited Island in Another World
Chapter 113: Exploring the New Home
Everyone headed outside.
Even with Storage & Replacement from my Crafting Ability, some people probably had items they did not want stored.
So I had everyone put that kind of luggage into baskets woven from vines and carry it out themselves.
Minori, for example, put her paper materials into a basket, but I suspected what she really wanted to hide was her diary. She kept a diary.
Aside from that, the women seemed to be putting the things they had received from me into their baskets.
Roa, the maid, had also put in her school uniform. Come to think of it, she had been wearing her uniform at first. It was such an obvious fact, but I found myself thinking about it anyway.
Her maid outfit suited her so completely that I almost forgot.
Once I confirmed that everyone was outside, I stored the house.
“...You can take something this big in and out whenever you want too?”
“And to think that power is only secondary to your main ability. Remarkable.”
“If Kuno were around, moving house would be over in an instant. Amazing.”
Yumekai, Ms. Luminous, and Urume all voiced their admiration.
Unlike those who had grown used to my power, they seemed shocked by the disappearance of such a huge building.
Roa, who was also a relatively new member, said, “As expected of Master,” with a proud look on her face.
“Roa, you’ve really mastered the veteran maid standing-behind-him look.”
Chiyu murmured that under her breath.
She was probably referring to how naturally Roa fit in, as though she had been serving me for years.
I almost let it pass because it felt so natural, but originally, she had been a classmate I barely knew.
Now she was a highly capable maid. It was honestly astonishing.
Most of our classmates probably would not understand even if it was explained to ❖ Nоvеl𝚒ght ❖ (Exclusive on Nоvеl𝚒ght) them.
The girls in Suou’s group had clearly been confused too.
“I’m excited about the new house, but it still feels a little sad.”
Shouko murmured that.
I felt the same. It was a house where I had made a lot of memories, so it was hard to leave it behind.
It was the house where Chiyu, Shion, Shouko, and I had all shared their first time.
But as I had said earlier, I was not erasing it.
And more than anything, the excitement of strengthening our base was stronger.
“We can make memories in the next house too. Our deserted-island life is still going to continue, after all.”
“Hehe. You’re right.”
“I agree. We have you and everyone else with us, Sousuke.”
Shion and Minori nodded.
While everyone was talking, the phantasmal beasts leveled the ground around us.
With my Crafting Ability, I finalized the placement area and the floor plan.
Once I did, the ability would construct what I specified in the best possible form.
“All right, I’m placing it.”
In the next instant, a mansion appeared before us.
Like before, it was a two-story wooden building on stone supports.
But the scale was on a completely different level.
A murmur escaped everyone.
“Mm. As expected of So-kun. Master of his own castle.”
Chiyu nodded in satisfaction.
I would not go so far as to call it a country or a castle, but it was definitely our territory. Our base.
Everyone went inside together.
“The entrance is so wide now! Actually, it’s bigger than my room back in Japan...”
Shouko was moved and depressed at the same time.
I thought this was probably one of those things you often saw with mansions introduced on TV, but the entrance hall was absurdly spacious.
As Shouko said, this entrance was bigger than my room back in Japan too.
Everyone took off their shoes and changed into the slippers I had placed in the entrance.
We had been transferred to the deserted island wearing the sneaker-type indoor shoes we used at school, and I regularly cleaned those indoor shoes with Storage & Replacement, but maybe I should eventually generate shoes suited to each person.
Roa already wore shoes that matched her maid outfit, after all.
“Wow. The kitchen is so spacious too. This is wonderful!”
Shion clasped her hands together in delight and looked around.
There was enough room to place multiple stoves and a large oven with space to spare. Of course, there was also a refrigerator. With this, the cooking space would not feel cramped even if multiple people were moving around in it.
I had also prepared a pantry nearby, and for items we used often or foods that kept well, I had set things up so people could use them without asking me every time.
“There really is a billiard table! And a casino-looking table too! Kuno, you’re the best!”
Urume’s shout came from somewhere in the distance.
Apparently, she had headed to the game room on her own.
When we went to the living room where everyone could relax, Yumekai was looking at the TV... or rather, the game console.
“You can play with it however you like during your free time, you know?”
“...N-not really.”
That was what she said, but she looked restless.
Maybe she liked games more than I had expected.
“The bath is large too... Wait. Could it be that my standard of living is actually higher here on this deserted island...? The bath where I live in Japan isn’t big enough for me to stretch my legs...”
When she checked the bath area, Ms. Luminous stared into the distance and murmured something to herself.
I had not only made the tub huge. I had also expanded the changing room, and the whole thing was starting to feel more and more like a hot-spring inn.
Incidentally, I had built this new base with plenty of extra room, enough to handle our members increasing to around fifteen people.
“Incredible... It really does feel like one corner of a library.”
When Minori entered the library, her expression softened happily.
I liked books too, so I had placed desks and bookshelves with a library in mind, but since we did not have nearly enough books, the room felt lonely.
“Let’s increase the number of books from now on. With manga, we can bring back complete sets from the bonus area, and I’m pretty sure novels have something like that too.”
For light novels, I had seen omnibus editions sold at electronic bookstores.
“Yes. If we want to collect a lot of volumes, there should be collected works and the like. Things gathering all the works of a specific author, famous works released under a certain label, classics, and so on. I believe manga has them as well.”
“Right, collected works.”
If we used those, we should be able to stock a lot of books at once.
Aside from that, the first floor also had an armory, a storage room, and empty rooms.
After checking everything, we all went up to the second floor.
There were private rooms prepared for every member, and of course, each person’s space was larger than before. This time, I had prepared closets for each room too.
I had left extra rooms as well, so we could handle it if more members joined.
Only my room was divided into a private room and a bedroom, and an enormous bed sat in the bedroom.
It was a size I had never even seen in fantasy, big enough that every current member could lie down on it with room to spare.
With the Crafting Ability, maintaining the mattress and bedding would not be a problem either.
“Mm. A king’s bed.”
“W-wow... It’s huge.”
“Sousuke, how many people are you planning to sleep here?”
“...Tonight... here...”
Chiyu, Shion, Shouko, and Minori were all blushing.
Minori in particular was bright red, probably because she was imagining tonight.
“I believe it is a bed befitting the one who rules this island.”
“...”
“...A bed is only a bed. But this is clearly... No, a teacher has no right to interfere with a student’s bedroom. That’s right. It is up to the person in question.”
“Ahaha! This thing is way too big! Hey, Kuno, can I get on it?”
Roa looked pleased, perhaps because she had been the one to suggest it.
Yumekai was silent. Ms. Luminous was blushing and muttering rapidly under her breath. Urume was laughing loudly.
Actually, why was everyone in my bedroom?
The situation of eight attractive women being in my bedroom did not feel real.
Not that anything was going to happen, of course.
While Urume laughed and rolled around on my bed, I suddenly remembered something.
“Come to think of it, what are we doing about room assignments this time? We have more people now, so should we decide again?”
In that instant, I felt like tension shot through all the women.
