Chillin' on an Uninhabited Island in Another World
Chapter 33: End of Day Two
Before I knew it, I was seated in a white space. The white void, the mystery blackboard, the desks, and the chairs. It was that dream again.
However, I tilted my head in confusion. ...My memories of the moments leading up to this were incredibly hazy.
After a massive amount of white liquid had been squeezed out of me—enough to hide the skin of Chiyu’s breasts—she had cast Basic Heal on herself to regain her vitality, then performed the healing magic on me as well.
That was when we finally switched roles between offense and defense. The aggressive succubus-like persona she displayed while on the attack vanished, replaced by a stuttering, hesitant Chiyu who guided my hand toward her private parts. She was so adorable that I completely forgot I had been thoroughly milked just moments before and felt my passion ignite again.
Despite being a beginner, thanks to my childhood friend’s lecture, I somehow managed to satisfy her. No, that’s not right.
Satisfying her flipped a switch in her again, and I was ambushed. Succubus Chiyu: The Return.
I don’t remember what happened after that. We likely fell asleep together, but I’m terrified for the morning...
We probably fell asleep without cleaning up. Our bodies and the bed are likely in a disastrous state.
And there was one more problem.
Shouko and Minori were sitting with their heads bowed, not saying a word. Seeing how red their ears were, I realized the truth.
—They heard everything!
Apparently, our new home isn't exactly soundproof.
Shion seemed to have grasped the situation from the other two's reactions as well, and she was looking at me with a smile. It was a broad, suggestive grin full of hidden meaning and allure.
"B-By the way, we're in our school uniforms when we come here, huh?"
I spoke up, trying to change the atmosphere of the room. Thinking back, we were in our uniforms yesterday too, but I hadn't noticed.
"Mm. It seems... we get summoned in the clothes we wore the first time we came here?" Chiyu responded.
"That’s right. If people were summoned in whatever they were wearing while sleeping, things might get... complicated for some," Shion added.
Shouko and Minori flinched at Shion's words. Incidentally, I actually jumped in my seat.
"I see. I've heard some people prefer to sleep totally naked. This way, those people don't have to worry about their friends seeing them that way."
Chiyu remained as expressionless as ever.
"A-Ah, everyone! Words are appearing on the blackboard!"
I wasn't trying to deflect, but it certainly sounded like it. However, it was also the truth.
(( Day Two has ended. ))
(( Commencing explanation regarding Survival Bonuses. ))
"Survival Bonuses?"
At my voice, everyone’s attention focused on the blackboard.
(( Regarding Survival Bonuses: For every day spent surviving on the main island, your "lifespan" will be increased by one day. Please note: This does not guarantee your survival. (Survival days are added at the end of each day upon visiting this room.) ))
"Our lifespan... increases...?"
Minori let out a voice of disbelief. Everyone likely felt the same.
The fact that survival isn't guaranteed means we could still die from accidents, murder, or disease—and naturally, suicide would be possible too. So, if my body had a natural limit, it would be extended by one day for every day here. Since it’s the second night, our lifespans have increased by two days.
It should be an incredible revelation, but it didn't feel real.
(( Commencing explanation regarding Death Penalties. ))
A bonus for surviving, and a penalty for dying...?
(( Regarding Death Penalties: If you lose your life on the main island due to combat, accidents, or illness, you will lose "100" points. If you end a player's survival activity—such as choosing to end your own life or killing another—you will lose "1,825" points. Please note: Point totals can go into the negative. If your total points are negative at the time of death, you will fall into a state of unconsciousness upon your return, depending on the numerical value. ))
"...Unconscious?"
"...Even if we die, we return to Earth?"
"I-I don't get this at all..."
"Is this... like a game? If you die, it's Game Over, and you get sent back to Earth?"
"It’s hardly fair to explain the penalties without explaining the points first."
Following me, Chiyu, Shouko, Shion, and Minori all reacted to the mystery blackboard's announcement.
(( Commencing explanation regarding Points. ))
(( Regarding Points: We observe your activities on the main island and evaluate them based on our own unique criteria. We cannot answer inquiries regarding the evaluation criteria. Furthermore, we cannot disclose the total number of points earned at this time. ))
"Hey, this is all gibberish!" Shouko shouted. 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂
"Basically, points are like money," I said. "The mystery blackboard monitors us without permission and gives them to us like a salary. But if we die, the penalty is deducted from those points."
"If Shouko-chan had 10 points and died in an accident, her balance would be minus 90," Chiyu added.
"We don't know the exact method of how we'd return to Earth, but if we did—I think it means Shouko-chan wouldn't wake up for ninety days," Shion calculated.
"The 1,825 points for causing a death, including suicide, equals five years," Minori noted. "They aren't accounting for leap years, but perhaps it's because the prison sentence for murder often starts at five years?"
The numbers seemed to reference Japanese law rather loosely.
"I... I get it, but... did you guys have to use me as the example for dying!?" Shouko looked a bit teary-eyed. Perhaps the talk of life and death had actually frightened her.
"The fact that they're making this announcement at this timing means..."
"They're likely trying to encourage us not to kill each other or die, while giving us hope for living," Minori finished my thought.
Perhaps this nightly assembly itself was meant to be a motivation to continue living on the deserted island. If we make it through today, we might get an answer, or something new might be added. They want us to think that way so they can observe us for a long time.
"More importantly, how do we get home besides dying!?"
(( A method exists to return to the state you were in before this situation began. However, it is not currently available to you. Please wait for future updates. ))
"I heard that yesterday!"
(( Question: Increasing water sources or the placement of a mine. Which is necessary for your future life? [Water Source] / [Mine] ))
"Don't ignore me—!" Shouko stood up and screamed. I understood how she felt, but...
"Calm down, Shouko. This thing only says what it wants to say. If we're going to ask something, let's try things we haven't asked yet."
Thanks to Shion, we had learned three things yesterday: That this class transfer is like a game to the mystery blackboard. That it won't tell us the status of other survivors. And, as Shouko's outburst confirmed again, that a way to return exists.
Now we could add the Survival Bonus, Death Penalty, and the Point System to that list.
"Right, it’s just as So-kun says. We'll be kicked out of here as soon as the voting ends, so if we can ask questions, we should do it now—"
(( The vote is closed as a majority has been reached. ))
(( The number of "Water Sources" placed in the environment will increase starting from Day Three. ))
"...Naturally. Today’s choice was too easy for anyone other than us," Minori said.
Her point was valid. Because of my Crafting Ability, we could create vast amounts of water from seawater for drinking or bathing. But for an ordinary high schooler on a deserted island, securing drinking water is no easy feat. By the second night, if told they could increase the water sources on the island, they would choose that without hesitation.
In any case, the voting was over.
"Everyone, is there anything else...!?"
"Um, um, ah! What happens if we return to Earth with a positive point balance!?"
"You say we can return, but to what point in time? It would be a huge problem if a whole class went missing. Even if we go back, it would interfere with our future lives."
"...What happens to our memories of this island when we return?"
"Oh, and the fluffy! Hey, what happens to the powers we got on the island!? I don't want to say goodbye to Mashiro!"
(( If you return with a positive point balance, a separate bonus will be granted. We cannot provide specific details at this time. ))
(( You will return to the state before this situation began. In other words, no time will have passed on Earth. ))
(( It is possible to carry over memories of the main island upon your return, but specific conditions must be met. We cannot provide details regarding those conditions at this time. ))
(( It is possible to carry over abilities acquired on the main island upon your return, but specific conditions must be met. We cannot provide details regarding those conditions at this time. ))
"How long do we have to survive here?"
(( We cannot answer regarding the observation period. ))
(( Day Three ❖ Nоvеl𝚒ght ❖ (Exclusive on Nоvеl𝚒ght) begins. ))
