Clan Building System: I'm not the Protagonist?!
Chapter 413:
A spatial crack appeared in the sky and out of it appeared two person, one carrying the other.
In front of the two, there was no longer the lush green valley they were in and instead it was cracked land and barren hills.
It was as if Fang Yuan really put in an effort to keep whatever he intends to show a secret.
Slowly landing in the ground, Fng Yuan gently set her down.
Lin Zhaoyue didn’t complain this time and instead her eyes were already scanning the surroundings.
"I don’t really know how to explain this," Fang Yuan said, loosening his grip on her. "So... just watch."
He stepped forward and a sword appeared in his hand with a quiet hum.
Taking in another deep breath he closed his eyes.
And for a brief moment, everything stilled, even the already-dead air seemed to sink into a deeper silence.
Another slow breath then his eyes opened.
Every ounce of his attention converged into a single point gathering at the blade in his hand.
"Tyrant Light Sword: Spatial Cut."
With one single slash, the air trembled.
Then, like fragile glass under pressure, the space itself split open.
A thin, jagged crack tore across the sky, stretching forward in a clean, terrifying line.
For a heartbeat, the sky held its breath and then the crack began to mend rapidly.
In mere seconds, the tear sealed completely, leaving no trace behind.
Fang Yuan lowered his sword and then he turned back only to froze as he noticed Lin Zhaoyue was staring straight at him.
Her eyes were wide, shimmering in shock, surprise and an unmistakable hint of joy.
"That’s amazing!" she burst out, stepping toward him without hesitation, her voice bright with excitement.
"Husband, that was a world law! You’re already starting to touch Void Law! It’s incomplete but you’ve already found the path!"
She grabbed his sleeve, her usual composure completely gone.
"If you can perfect that slash, if you refine it just a little more—" her grip tightened, her eyes locking onto his, "—you’ll be able to form your own World Law!"
Her smile widened, almost radiant.
"And once you do..."
Her voice dropped slightly, but the excitement didn’t fade.
"No one will be able to catch you and you’ll even have a massive advantage when entering the Spirit Severing Realm."
She took another step closer, closing the distance between them completely.
"Perfect it?" Fang Yuan frowned slightly, glancing at the space he had just cut. "I thought it already was."
Lin Zhaoyue shook her head immediately, almost bouncing where she stood.
"No, no," she said, stepping closer. "That was just the beginning. When it’s truly perfected..."
Her eyes gleamed.
"...you’ll be able to sever worlds."
Fang Yuan went still and then his gaze shifted back to her, narrowing slightly.
"...And how do you know all this?"
Lin Zhaoyue didn’t hesitate as she moved closer, her fingers lightly hooking into his sleeve as she tilted her head up at him.
"Well," she said softly, almost playfully, "that’s because I come from the future."
There was a beat of silence and then Fang Yuan pushed her away in a soft force.
"Right," he said flatly. "And now you’re a time traveler too?"
He gave her a look, unimpressed. "If you don’t want to say, just say so."
Lin Zhaoyue blinked and then immediately closed the distance again, clinging onto his arm as if the push meant nothing at all.
"Well~" she hummed, pressing against him, "if you don’t believe I’m a time traveler..."
Her fingers tightened, her cheek nearly brushing his shoulder.
"...then how about you just trust your wife and do as I say?"
Fang Yuan didn’t respond right away.
For a brief moment, he actually seemed to consider it.
Then he turned his head, looking down at her with a faint, skeptical smile.
"...Fine."
"If you’re really from the future..."
His eyes met hers.
"...then tell me how many kids did we have?"
Lin Zhaoyue froze and just for a fraction of a second her grip loosened.
Her gaze flickered as something unreadable passing through it before that familiar smile returned.
But this time...
It lingered a little too long.
"What, cat got your tongue?"
Fang Yuan chuckled, clearly amused by her silence.
Without waiting for her answer, he bent down and scooped her up again, as if her silence was just another one of her moods.
"Guess that answers it," he added lightly, turning as if to head back.
But Lin Zhaoyue said nothing and remained silent.
Fang Yuan stopped as he realised something was wrong.
"...What’s wrong?" he asked, his tone losing some of its playfulness.
He frowned slightly and looked down at her.
"You went quiet all of a sudden."
She didn’t answer and remained silent.
Fang Yuan studied her for a moment, then, as if deciding to test the waters, he asked casually—
"Why... you want to make babies?"
Her eyes flickered and she looked up at him, voice soft but steady.
"What if I do? Will you make it come true?"
Fang Yuan stopped in his tracks and for a brief moment, the usual ease in his expression faded.
He looked at her, properly this time before speaking.
"I can’t promise I’ll be the best father," he said quietly.
"But I can promise I’ll give everything I have to be one."
Lin Zhaoyue’s face turned bright red almost instantly.
She lowered her head, fingers tightening slightly as she mumbled in a tiny voice,
"T-then... let’s make one after we enter the Human Immortal Realm."
Fang Yuan blinked and then suddenly turned her around and pulled her up, bringing her face level with his.
"Oh?" he said, a teasing smile forming.
"I thought you wanted this now. Why are you hesitating now?"
She avoided his gaze, flustered but firm.
"W-we have to be strong enough... to protect our kids."
Fang Yuan’s smile deepened as he echoed her words, amused, "Kids? You’re already planning for more than one?"
