Chapter 80: Masters Fighting Over an Apprentice

Translator: Vicki Editor: Chrissy

“Great! This is great!” The middle-aged woman shook Qian Jin with her hands. “Luck! It is a very important matter to Mystic Pharmacists. I can tell that you have great talent for becoming a Mystic Pharmacist! I’ve decided! I’m taking you in as an apprentice!”

Qian Jin stared at this middle-aged woman with his eyes wide open. “Become a Mystic Pharmacist? This… if I was told to go to the Human-Demon Battlefront and fight demons, I wouldn’t even blink my eyes and hesitate! Let alone going to the Human-Demon Battlefront, if I had to take my knife and assassinate the current Demon King, I wouldn’t be scared as well! It would be honorable for a warrior to die on the battlefield! However, if I die at this Mystic Pharmacist’s laboratory, then it would be beyond depressing…”

“I’m Blake’s apprentice…”

“I don’t mind you having two masters.”

“But I do mind…”

“That’s okay. I will just go and talk to Blake.”

“What I mean to say is that I don’t want to become a Mystic Pharmacist. My goal is to become a great warrior, a great blacksmith, and a great Pharmacist… As for a Mystic Pharmacist? I will pass on that…”

“What?” The middle-aged woman’s ear-piercing voice broke through the roof and resonated in the village again. “You said that you would rather learn that garbage Pharmacy? Do you not want to learn the greatest, most mysterious and most honourable subject that exists in the world, the Mystic Pharmacy?”

Qian Jin looked at this middle-aged woman who didn’t seem in the right mental state. He felt like he was having a headache. If this woman was a demon beast and wanted to kill him, he could instantly attack her and save himself. Unfortunately, this woman was simply very proud of her profession. He couldn’t really attack her for this reason.

Also, from the perspective of this woman, Qian Jin knew that she was trying benefit him. Most importantly, if this woman accidentally knocked some test tube over, he might be blown into dust. Who knew if he could still return to the Endless World dying like that? If he really couldn’t return, he would lose so much! He hadn’t even gotten the chance to finish reading the books in Blake’s room about blacksmithing.

Bam! The wooden door was busted open by someone rudely. It was a fat man who was as tough as a bear. He had a fully-grown beard, and he was also holding some test tubes in his hands. Qian Jin could see the angry fires in his eyes. They were so lifelike that they could burn anything into charcoal. The tough man shouted at the middle-aged woman viciously, “Eulalia! Who are you calling garbage? You are just a terrible Mystic Pharmacist; how dare you insult the honourable Pharmacy?”

“Adams, you’re a dumb bear! I just called the Pharmacy garbage! The Mystic Pharmacy is majestic; how could you even talk about it as a lowly elementary Pharmacist?”

“Eulalia, you woman…”

Qian Jin was standing in between the two of them. He realized that the village that was always quiet and peaceful was noisier than a supermarket at this moment. The two pharmacists were yelling and swearing at each other so loudly that they were making the village shake.

“This is a great opportunity! I’m better off escaping from here!” Qian Jin was no longer planning on purchasing medicine or potions. If the two pharmacists continued arguing, who knew if the situation would turn physical or not. If it did, they might knock over test tubes and make the laboratory explode.

“Don’t leave!” Although Adams was as tough as a bear, he was very agile and fast like a phantom. Qian Jin couldn’t even see his movement. Qian Jin’s shoulder was held still by the big hand, and his heart sunk to the bottom of his stomach. “This pharmacist is also a Demon Fighter! God! What is this village…”

“Don’t leave!” At almost the same time, Qian Jin felt his other shoulder being held still by another hand; it belonged to Eulalia.

“My god… How many Demon Fighters are there in this village? Could it be that even the Pharmacists and Mystic Pharmacists are Demon Fighters?” Qian Jin sadly realized that he was weaker than everyone in this village despite being invincible in Oakland City, with the exception of the Mayor and Fabreidis. Even if he had to fight the General of City Defense and Security Force, as long as he used his secret weapon, Kun-Fighting Technique from the Qian Family, he would still be able to kill the general.

“Kiddo, you have great talent for Pharmaceuticals. Come and learn the subject with me.” The bear-like tough man Adams smiled as he told Qian Jin, “I promise that you can become the greatest Pharmacist that has ever existed.”

Qian Jin smiled bitterly; he felt helpless. This Adams was obviously here to mess around. “Talent for Pharmaceuticals? How do you that I have talent for it? I didn’t even do anything… It is only because you want to mess around with Eulalia and make things difficult for her.”

“Do you want to fight over him with me?” Eulalia straightened her back, and her impressive chest almost busted open the robe she was wearing. She shouted, “He is mine! He is now a Mystic Pharmacist’s apprentice!”

“Bullshit, he didn’t even agree to it! However, I did hear him say that he wanted to become a Pharmacist…”

“That’s because he hasn’t understood the greatness of the Mystic Pharmacy. After he gets a better understanding, he will know how weak and useless you Pharmacists are.”

The man and woman argued with each other nonstop. They were like two chickens fighting each other. Qian Jin wanted to leave, but he couldn’t. Suddenly, he saw an elder appear on the doorstep.

Qian Jin had never realized how majestic Blake was until this very moment. He felt like his savior had appeared as he saw Blake slowly walked towards him. It wasn’t because he was afraid of the two Demon Fighter; they were both residents of this warm and friendly village. Although he hadn’t made much contact with them, he still liked them.

“What are you guys arguing about?” After Blake opened his mouth, the two Pharmacists who were fighting with each other immediately shut their mouths.

Qian Jin felt relieved. He thought, “Finally, this time…”

“You guys can both take him as your apprentice.” After Blake said that, Qian Jin, who just felt like he was barely reaching the top of the cliff, instantly felt like he was kicked back to the bottom of the cliff again.

“Okay!” The two mad chicken-like Pharmacists shouted in unison. “I will have ten hours, and you can have the remaining six hours.”

“Both of you can take four hours.” Blake pointed out four fingers as he said, “I will have the remaining twelve.”

The two pharmacists fell into a moment of silence. They both looked at Blake, who had a tired expression, and quietly protested, “The time is not enough…”

Blake raised his hand and rubbed his chin as he thought carefully. While ignoring Qian Jin’s objecting expression, he said seriously, “Then, I’ll give six hours for you guys.”

The two Pharmacist quickly nodded, as if they were afraid that Blake would regret this decision. “Is it starting from today?” they asked.

“Wait a little while until after he forges a real weapon.” Blake pushed the two of them away and dragged Qian Jin out of the Mystic Potion Shop. He suddenly turned around and said, “Since he is now your apprentice, then the Anti-Fatigue Mystic Powder…”

“Yeah, yeah, yeah!” Eulalia took out a small package from a box and threw it to Blake. “There is enough powder for ten doses.”

Qian Jin followed Blake back to the blacksmith shop helplessly. He picked up the blacksmith hammer and started to forge the Hundred-Year Aged Ice-Iron into Purified Ice Iron.

Qian Jin stopped using the First Hammering Technique that he was already proficient in and directly used the Second Hammering Technique he just learned.

“Wait a second; use a different hammer.”

Blake handed him a hammer that was fifty pounds heavier than the hammer he was using at the moment. Qian Jin’s lips twitched as he thought, “Just from the look of it, the Second Hammering Technique is a lot harder. It is difficult to learn the trajectory and the speed of the strike, as well as the final landing force with this hammer. Do I need to upgrade the hammer as well?”
