Contract Marriage: Abusive Love with Mr.CEO
Chapter 979 - 504: Extra Story: You Exist Deep in My Mind
"Did the doctor say that you can discharge my sister?" Becca asked with a frown.
Skyler Jones replied, "I asked the doctor, as long as she gets regular heart rate monitoring these days, it should be fine..."
"Then let’s get Christine discharged... We can arrange for the best doctors and caregivers at the hotel."
"If my sister wants to be discharged, then let her be discharged. After all, hospitals are indeed not the most comfortable places," Becca agreed.
Skyler Jones nodded, "I’ll go handle the paperwork."
Watching Skyler Jones’s departing figure, Mrs. Geoffrey sighed, "I have a very bad feeling... I think there will be big problems between Oversky and Christine."
Becca calmly said, "Right now, I only care about my sister’s health... As long as she’s fine, I will never interfere with her choices again."
In the hospital room, Christine Quinn quietly looked out the window, her heart unusually calm.
The sunlight poured into the room, casting on the small yellow flower on the window sill, the breeze lifting the light blue curtains, gently blowing the little yellow flower down...
So many moments spent with him replayed in her mind. Originally, it should have been somewhat sad, but whether it’s due to surviving a great ordeal, one becomes indifferent to many things... she can already recall these without sadness or joy.
The past dissipated with the wind because I was too attached back then, which led to today’s tragedy for both of us...
Fortunately, she finally came to her senses, realizing the greatest sorrow in life is being attached to things one shouldn’t be.
She hoped that the future days could be like now, when spring blossoms in full.
Looking down at her own abdomen, she smiled and said "sorry" to the little life already gone inside, then lifted her gaze to the distance, at peace, smiling.
Christine Quinn had changed. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
After recovering and returning from France, Christine Quinn became much more cheerful.
Unlike before, where there was always a hint of sadness between her brows, she is always relaxed and content, which made both Mrs. Geoffrey and Becca, who were originally worried about her, breathe a sigh of relief.
Except at night, when she slept with Marie, the interaction between Christine Quinn and Skyler Jones wasn’t too rigid. Instead, it was much more relaxed than before, though they didn’t spend much time together since Skyler Jones focused more on work, and Christine spent most of her time at home with Mrs. Geoffrey and Becca.
At this moment, Christine Quinn was picking up Marie from school.
On the way home, to seek a chance for her parents to reconcile, Marie mischievously said, "Mommy, it’s during the American XX Freedom Day, and the teacher said we have a seven-day holiday... a week isn’t too long or too short, let’s go on a family vacation!"
Driving, Christine Quinn was in quite a good mood, "A vacation?"
"Yes, a week-long vacation is just perfect."
Christine Quinn nodded, "Okay, let’s go on a vacation... Mommy hasn’t spent much time with you lately either." Recently, spending more time with Marie, she realized she had spent too much time in the past on things she shouldn’t have been attached to, neglecting her daughter too much.
"Mommy, can we go with Daddy too?" Marie asked tentatively.
Christine Quinn replied in a very calm tone, smiling, "Honey, your Daddy has work, he’s busy... Besides, it’s inconvenient for Mommy to go on vacation with him right now." She no longer wanted to hide things from her daughter, knowing that her daughter would have to face these matters eventually.
Marie’s voice suddenly dropped, and she asked softly, "Mommy, you’re not really planning to leave Daddy, are you?"
Christine Quinn shook her head, "How could Mommy leave you and Daddy? To Mommy, you and Daddy are family, and Mommy will never separate from you. But Marie, you also know what happened between Mommy and Daddy, we’re not suitable for each other anymore."
Marie said with a heartache, "But I don’t want you to separate..."
"Marie, you’ve grown up, don’t cry anymore, remember what Mommy told you before?" Seeing Marilyn Quinn’s red eyes in the rearview mirror, Christine Quinn smiled to comfort her daughter, "Be good, even if Mommy and Daddy separate, we will both love you just the same... We’ll always be by your side."
Marie wiped her sore nose and nodded, such a sensible little girl.
Nighttime.
Christine Quinn was packing clothes for Marie’s trip.
Marie watched as Christine Quinn neatly folded clothes into the suitcase, her mood still downcast.
