Chapter 8 - Big Sister

"No."

"Go home."

"NO!"

"GO.HOME."

"NO!"

Xiu Mei: ....

Lu Shao: ....

The two secretaries eyes wandered back and forth towards the big and small blocks of ice arguing with each other. The big block of ice towered over the little kid as he emitted an aura of extreme anger.

The little block of ice on the other hand stood his ground against the big boss despite his height and did not surrender to his bid. Lu Qiang was desperately embracing the bowl of eggs on his arms like he was protecting it against a monster trying to steal it away from him.

"Lu Shao, drag him back." The emperor CEO finally gave his final verdict. Since the little kid wasn't moving a budge, then he will take him away by force.

"NO!!"

Before Lu Shao could make a move, Lu Qiang hastily placed the bowl on the table and ran to Xiu Mei's side. He clutched her shirt as he stood behind her to hide from Lu Chen.

"I'm staying with Big Sister!! I'm not going home with you!!" Then he stuck himself tightly onto Xiu Mei like a glue, never letting go.

Xiu Mei immediately shuddered when she felt a sudden chill. Her eyes was following Lu Qiang that's why she her knees almost gave up in fear when she raised her head and saw the furious look on the emperor CEO's face.

Will the emperor get her head today?

Trying to remedy the current situation, Xiu Mei rubbed her nose as she spoke. "How about... having dinner for now?"

Blinking, she didn't receive any response from the other three people around her. Panicking inside, she added. "Let's cool down first, shall we?"

She didn't bother waiting for their response anymore and hugged back Lu Qiang who was hiding behind her. She walked to the kitchen with Lu Qiang in tow.

"President, Shao ge, you can wait in the living room. I'll serve the tea and call you once we're done cooking." Xiu Mei said as she walked past them.

She grabbed another egg and handed it to Lu Qiang. Kneeling to his eye level, "Let's cook for your father, okay?"

Lu Qiang hesitated but still nodded before running back to the table to get the bowl of whisked eggs he'd finished. He glared to Lu Chen who was standing on the doorway before turning his back and went back to his devices.

Lu Chen glanced at the small back of Lu Qiang before turning around and walking back to the living room. Lu Shao followed suit behind him.

"Ah."

While Xiu Mei was preparing the tea, her hands suddenly stopped when she finally realized some contradicting information.

Lu Shao said that little Qiang is the president's son.

But the little kid told her back in the playground that his parents were dead.

... are the two of them not getting along to the point that Lu Qiang didn't want to recognize the president as his father?

But I don't see the need of Lu Qiang to lie to her though? After all, I was a stranger until a while ago.

And he didn't have call his father 'dead' when in fact he's very alive and breathing right there at her living room.

No, the other point is that she didn't even know that Lu Chen, the president, has a son.

A freakin' adorable son!!

Xiu Mei really couldn't believe at this fact.

Of all people, the aloof president of mine dated and had a son without her knowledge.

She was completely confused about this.

For the last four years, She and Lu Shao are the ones who had spent most of the time with him. Out of 24 hours a day, she would spend 15-18 hours with the president. Add the fact that she goes to work at weekend and don't even spend her vacation leave days.

It would be like the president, Lu Shao and her are a set meal that you won't be able to order in a restaurant if one is missing.

...so all those time for sleep, did the president spend it dating? Without sleeping?

Hmmm, the technology is so advanced this days. Probably through chatting? Video call?

The girl would have to be soooo understanding if that was already enough for her.

Or... live-in? Probably.

...But Lu Qiang said his parents were dead?

Xiu Mei glanced at the living room and saw the president on his phone once again.

Since the father is alive, maybe Lu Qiang was talking about his dead mother?

Oh.my.god.

Xiu Mei almost slapped herself. She really shouldn't be probing too much on sensitive topics such as that. Really, if anyone could hear her thoughts, she'd be long beaten up by people.

After serving the tea at the living room, Xiu Mei returned to her previous work and started chopping more vegetables. Then she cooked some dumplings as another side dish since her rice serving would probably not enough for 4 people.

"I'm done."

Lu Qiang beamed at her proudly. Xiu Mei swept away her previous thoughts and concentrated on the little kid. She scooped the rice out on a different bowl and placed it beside the bowl of eggs in front of Lu Qiang.

"Then pour about half of the eggs on the rice then mix it. Just continually add the eggs afterwards until everything is well-mixed, okay?"

Lu Qiang nodded and went to work. She watched him pour the eggs and mixed the rice with a spatula. Seeing that he was doing well, Xiu Mei went back to her cooking and started stir frying the chicken.

The two of them cooked in a relaxed atmosphere. Lu Qiang was watching in interest in her cooking while she was stir frying the rice with the chicken. The little kid was even popping some innocent questions like 'would it taste good' and 'can i help you cook and stir it'.

Xiu Mei couldn't help but crush the adorable little kid into her embrace.

Seriously, how could the ice block president have such an innocent and adorable kid like this?

Problem with genes, perhaps?
