Copy & Paste Power in Modern World
Chapter 55
The next morning, Adam came to Unit 14 in the form of a young man.
He was not Wil today. He was Rivan, the son Wil had once sent with cash. His face was clean, his clothes were simple, and the bag in his hand carried both the file Bruno had prepared and a small box of chips.
Inside the office, everyone was already working.
Kenji stood near the main table with papers spread in front of him. Shinju had a legal file open, Sera was sorting delivery notes, and Davin was writing something down. Kiri sat at the side, reading through the last meeting notes.
When Rivan entered, the room slowed for a second.
Kenji stood first.
"You are..." he began.
"Rivan," Adam said. "My father sent me."
Kenji’s face changed at once.
"Right. Please come in."
Adam’s eyes moved to the new man at the table.
Kenji understood and gestured toward him. "This is Kiri Dalen. He is handling sales and business development for us. For now, you can think of him as our Head of Business Development."
Kiri stood and offered his hand.
Adam shook it.
Kiri’s grip was firm, but his eyes were already measuring how much authority Wil’s son carried.
"The evaluation lot?" Kenji asked before the silence could stretch.
"Don’t worry," Adam said. "My father already moved everything through the local manufacturing side. The transfer was complete before six this morning."
For a moment, no one spoke.
Kiri looked at Kenji, then at the small chip box in Adam’s hand.
"Before six?" he asked.
"Yes."
Kiri let out a short breath. If this speed continued, their reputation would rise fast.
Adam placed the file and the chip box on the table.
"Take these."
Shinju came closer first. Kiri sat down beside the table. Kenji remained standing, while Davin and Sera moved behind them to see what had been brought.
Adam said, "As my father promised, this is an initial push to help you establish yourself in the market."
Shinju opened the file.
The first few pages were enough to change her expression.
Kenji leaned closer and read with her. Sera’s hand stopped over the delivery notes. Kiri picked up another section, read two lines, then looked straight at Adam.
"What is this?" Shinju asked slowly.
Kiri’s voice was lower. "This looks illegal."
Adam shook his head. "Who said that?"
Kiri did not look convinced.
Adam tapped the file once. "This has information on the people who can move your deals forward. Stock pressure, buying habits, decision makers, and the biggest weakness around each decision maker. It tells you where to speak and what fear already exists inside that company."
Kiri read another page.
He understood the value faster than the others. This was not just a file. It was a map. If this kind of information kept coming, they would not walk into meetings blind anymore.
That was why he looked more disturbed than happy.
"Who exactly has access to this kind of thing?" Kiri asked. "This is not normal market research. Big companies pay for less than this."
"Don’t put it on too high a shelf," Adam said. "Information work is common. My father is simply better at it than most people."
That answer did not fully satisfy anyone, but no one pushed.
Shinju turned another page and then stopped.
"Our second deal is almost set," she said. "If the follow-up meeting goes well, we can close it."
"No," Adam said.
Everyone looked at him.
"From now on, choose meetings from this file first. Every company listed here has notes, and each section ends with a special note. Read those carefully."
Kenji flipped to the end of one section.
His eyes narrowed.
The note said that within a few days, that company’s imported chip supply would face shortage pressure.
He turned to another section.
There was a similar note there too.
Kenji’s fingers tightened around the paper.
Now he understood.
Wil had said before that he would give them a push. This was that push. Then Bruno’s warning came back to Kenji too.
Shinju seemed to understand the same thing. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚
Kiri closed the file and exhaled.
"Fine," he said. "If the founder wants us to move this way, then we won’t sit still."
Shinju looked at him, then nodded.
Kenji did the same.
"We accept Wil sir’s gift," Shinju said. "We will use it carefully."
Adam stood as if that part was finished.
Before he could leave, Kenji spoke again.
"There is one more thing I wanted to ask."
Adam looked at him.
"Ask."
Kenji glanced at Kiri. "Kiri does not want to work here only for salary. He wants a small ownership stake. Shares."
Kiri did not hide from it.
"I am not asking for control," he said. "I am tired of working only for salary. I work best when I feel the company is mine too. If I am helping build this, I want to stand with the people building it."
Adam remained quiet for a few seconds.
He thought of Kenji, Shinju, Davin, and Sera. Some of them had smaller pieces and still took salary for daily expenses. That structure made sense, but if every strong hire asked for ownership, the company would become hard to control.
At last, he said, "I will accept this condition one last time."
Kiri blinked.
Adam corrected himself smoothly. "In my father’s words, this is the last time he will accept such a request. After this, no new person will receive ownership just because they are useful. Salary, bonus, commission, and freedom can be managed. Ownership cannot be handed out every time."
Kenji lowered his head a little. He understood the warning.
"The salary budget has already been allotted," Adam continued. "You will manage people within that. If someone deserves more, pay more. If someone deserves commission, give commission. But do not bring every strong person to my father for shares."
Kiri nodded slowly.
"Understood."
"You will receive a small stake," Adam said. "Not much. The same emergency clause remains. You can work freely for now, but if a serious situation comes, full control returns to my father. He can take control at any time."
Kiri looked at Kenji.
"Kenji already told me that," he said.
"Good."
Adam picked up the empty side of his bag and stepped back from the table.
"Then I expect results from all of you."
After saying that, he turned and left the office.
