Cosmic Patron System: 100X Return on Every Reward
Chapter 105 | Eshkar Ascetics
While Reyansh dosed off on his bed, Bob still on his lap after a full packed day. A group of 7 people were wide awake at that time, surrounded by huge trees, waiting for something.
All seven of them had a red overcoat on them, signifying a common group. Everyone had an expression of anticipation and something more in their eyes.
"It’s almost time now, I can’t wait to meet them," A woman wearing a red headband with a crazy smile spoke.
"I really hope I get chosen as their guide. Even if I get their leftovers, I will be powerful enough." A man voiced his thoughts with reverence in his eyes.
"You weaklings, keep your trap shut. I am your group leader, I will decide the distribution around here," a man wearing gauntlets shouted.
Both woman and man lowered their head, not daring to speak further.
It all started few months ago, all 7 of them were contacted separately on their channels by different individuals, promising power.
All of them had average talent and average in other departments except ambitions.
Each of them had strong ambitions, someone wanted to become the strongest on Earth, one of them wanted to have most famous channel on Earth and so on.
So the temptation of power without any personal cost sounded like a dream to them and this was the exact same thing they were promised by the group they were waiting for.
The silence hadn’t even stretched for few seconds when suddenly the atmosphere got heavier.
A gust of wind rose up suddenly, followed by fluctuations in atmosphere itself. Dried leaves, dirt and small branches started floating in the air.
"They are coming," the woman with red headband whispered.
The speed of wind increased slightly as suddenly the air in front of them crackled followed by a tear forming in fabric of space itself. As the tear increased in size, a bright white light shone from other side of tear.
The tear continued to increase until it was big enough for a person to cross over. It was tapered on both ends and wide in the middle.
For a moment, everyone stayed still with expectations beside the floating dried leaves and twigs. Suddenly, a shadow appeared in front of the tear, blocking the white light.
All seven of them bowed their heads without even glancing at the silhouette of man. The tear stretched slightly as a being stepped out.
"The mana is really scarce in this wretched dimension," the being uttered, taking in the air as he stepped forward, allowing others behind him to step out.
One by one, six more beings stepped out from the tear while atmosphere slowly accustomed to this local anomaly. The 7 humans still kept their head bowed, not even daring to look up to their benefactors.
After all 7 beings stepped out of the dimensional tear, the tear slowly closed behind them. All the atmospheric fluctuations and phenomenon settled down.
Now, 14 beings stood amidst the jungle which had just witnessed something unnatural. 7 humans belonging to earth and 7 beings that stood here after tearing the dimensional wall.
"Congratulations, you seven have completed this mission and pass with flying colours." The being to step out first addressed.
His voice commanding and powerful, all seven even bowed their heads further, their hearts pounding just by the sheer presence of all seven beings.
"We greet the masters and humbly request to take us under your care," the man wearing gauntlets spoke, his head still bowed.
"You guys can raise your head," the leader of the group of beings replied.
All seven of them turned their heads up, looking at the group of beings.
’They look like us, are they human?’ all seven had the same thought the moment their eyes fell upon the beings wearing red and black clothes.
The leader understood their thoughts upon seeing the look on their faces.
"Are we disappointing?" the leader asked in a curious voice.
Hearing the question, all seven again bowed their heads, "No, great masters," all replied in unison.
"We were simply admiring the visages of our masters who had guided us till now," the man wearing gauntlets added.
The leader of the beings smirked that looked like a demonic smile rather than a smirk.
"You are a sharp one, it was right decision to allow you to lead the group," the being praised in a flat tone.
"Thank you for your praise, master," the man with gauntlets spoke with a gratitude.
"Oh, Suran, how long are you going to marinate these lambs? I am feeling a bit famished, I want to absorb live essence," A feminine casual voice came from behind the leader.
After her words there was a strange silence like everybody lost the ability to speak. The seven humans had a strange feeling in their heart after hearing her words.
Before this could get anymore awkward, the leader of the beings, Suran, cleared his throat and spoke.
"Now, Desree, you don’t need to frighten future new members of our guild," he spoke as he gave a warning eye to her than turned towards the group, "You guys don’t mind her, she is famous for joking with new recruits."
"Of course, great master, we can never take words of our master as offence," the man in gauntlets replied though his heartbeat betrayed his words.
The leader, Suran, noticed all that and smiled only, ’Pathetic, they have no self respect, just so they could get some scarps. But then again, they are the perfect lambs,’ a cruel smile formed on his lips but he no one noticed.
"So have you guys completed the other mission?" Suran asked.
"Yes, great master, we have gathered names and details about possible future members for the guild," the man in gauntlets handed a diary to Suran.
"Excellent, more members are recruited from your recommendations, more benefits you will get from the guild," Suran spoke as he went through the details of diary with an unexplainable glint in his eyes then handed to the being behind him.
"Great Master, I have to add one more recommendations in my list," the women with headband spoke up.
Their group leader, the man with gauntlets shot her a glare, "You don’t have the right to speak..."
Before he could scold her further, Suran interrupted, "Let her speak, we respect freedom in our guild."
"Thank you, Great Master. There’s a new hunter who came to limelight just yesterday. His channel name is StarWalker, I couldn’t find his identity as he wore a mask, I apologize for my incomplete work." She shared.
Suddenly, all six others had a look of regret on their face like they just missed the lottery by one digit.
"Tell me more about this StarWalker?" Suran asked, looking at faces of others.
"Yesterday, on a livestream, he killed a S-rank guildmaster even though he is himself at C-rank Mana Core," she answered.
"You do know that we have severe punishment for liars," Desree spoke up again, her voice threatening.
The woman with headband flinched at her words.
"Not again, Desree," Suran reprimanded in a sharp voice as he glanced backwards the turned ahead again, "But, I agree with her. Our guild punish liars, so are you sure about your recommendations?"
"Absolutely, Great Master, I will never lie to you," the woman nodded her head.
’Hmm...able to kill an S-rank hunter while still at core rank C. Is he also getting help from higher dimensions? Which powerful guild is backing him?’ Suran thought.
’There’s no way a hunter from low rank dimension is capable of such feat,’ he concluded. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
"Okay, we will look into him. If he is as strong as you say, you will be rewarded," he stated.
The woman with red headband had a triumphant smile as she looked at envious face of six other members of her group. A smirk appeared on her face, like she was already two steps ahead of others.
"Okay, let’s leave this place, lead the way," Suran ordered.
All seven of them turned happily, eager to lead the way, already thinking about their rise in strength.
"You guys can choose your lamb," A detached voice of Suran came from behind.
Suddenly, a frightening feeling arose in the hearts of all seven humans ahead. Before they could even process the words, multiple tentacles appeared from behind wrapping around their neck and limbs.
"Great Master, what are....." SNAP!
"What is this? Please no... don’t..." SQUELCH!
"AAAAHHHHH....." PLUP!
Within seconds, all seven of them were dead, their eyes still filled with confusion, horror and regret. They couldn’t even complete their thoughts as some were strangled, while other were impaled by tentacles.
All seven beings walked closer as their tentacles started absorbing the bodies of seven human they killed.
The appearance of being still looked human from outside. However, if someone could look beyond their skin, they will see a horrified scene as their organs moved around their body.
Some had bone protruding from different places, they completely absorbed the bodies. The next moment, they took the exact shape of humans they killed.
"Now, Eshkar Ascetics can hunt freely," Suran spoke with a wide smile.
"Next time, please don’t waste this much time with the food," Desree still protested as she looked at her new copied body.
"You still don’t get it, it’s at moment like these you can get almost all range of emotions beside your food. This is the most important part of hunt," Suran answered.
"Now, let’s roam this city for more food but be discrete, our goal is to kidnap as many hunters as possible." Suran addressed as all of them flew towards the nearest bright city light, the city of Mumbai.
