’Pretty much the same as Elixir but only for mana. I hope the mana increase too, because it is the one thing that is increasing at the slowest,’ he commented after reading the information.

"And just HOW slightly uncomfortable will it be? Please, not like the "excruciating pain" I went through," he spoke hopefully.

"Well, here goes nothing," taking a deep breath, he mentally agreed.

Just as he accepted, a white smoky substance, mana, appeared in front of him in raw form. However, when he focused a little, he noticed that it wasn’t just smoke, the liquid mana was being converted into gaseous form and vice-versa, giving it a smoky appearance.

The mana he had generally observed is blueish in color so this appearance with white color was surprising to him.

’This must be pure mana,’ he concluded.

The mana didn’t enter his body immediately like the rest, instead its size started increasing, like it was absorbing mana from the surrounding.

When the size of collective essence become larger than the Reyansh’s head, it moved, albeit slowly towards his chest.

’It may really be slightly uncomfortable.’ He thought.

However, the moment liquid mana touched his body, the entire essence was absorbed in his chest, a chill spread throughout his whole body as it became stiff from the cold.

Reyansh felt like his body had been submerged into liquid nitrogen, he even felt his thought process slowing down. He tried to move his fingers, but he couldn’t even force them to twitch.

Just when he thought, he would have remained frozen like this for some time. A warmth spread from the centre of his chest as Reyansh felt a bit relaxed from dissipating cold.

However, before he could fully relax, the temperature spiked immediately. The earlier sensation of being frozen was replaced by multiple scalding hot wires were being pushed under his skin.

He gritted his teeth as he went through somewhat familiar yet different sensation. He looked at his body but externally there was no change on his body, no sweat due to heat or no dry skin due to cold.

’Is it psychological?’ he wondered, going through the rise in temperature.

His pain resistance had already increased due to surviving the reconstruction earlier, though still painful, he endured. Just as the burning pain intensified, suddenly, he felt cold again.

’No, not this again,’ he almost pleaded.

’The note said slightly uncomfortable, someone seriously messed up is writing those notes,’ he cursed internally.

The feeling of hot wires under the skin was suddenly replaced by cold metal rods, his entire body became stiff again. At this moment, Reyansh had no idea, he just closed his eyes and focused on enduring the process.

After few seconds of bone-frizzing cold, his body started getting hot again.

’What kind of roller-fucking-coaster is this?’ he screamed mentally.

The process continued for few times like his body was undergoing a ritual, but after nth time, something changed.

This time he felt normal over his entire body except a concentrated point, below the centre of his chest and above the navel area.

Now all the cold and heat was focused at this point, the alteration speed also increased. Feeling a bit relieved that he won’t have to feel that over his entire body, but the next moment, a raw scream tore through his neck.

AAARRRRHHHHH!!

He felt that the particular point was being heated then doused in cold multiple times in a second.

He clenched his fist and gritted his teeth as he tried to find the cause of this sudden escalation in pain.

After closing his eyes, he decided to follow the pain to understand the situation. A few seconds, when he finally concentrated enough, he understood immediately.

His mana core was undergoing this process which explained this pain. He remain seated and tried to focus on something else to reduce the pain.

However, this searing pain was more deeper and affected not just his physical body but penetrated to touch his soul too.

A minute passed as he went through this heart wrenching process, his eyes had become watery and two streams rolled down his cheeks.

He wasn’t crying, this was just the physical response of the body to the pain he was going through as his mana core expanded.

As few more seconds passed, the process slowed, easing his pain. But out of nowhere, white smoke with a tint of blue started coming off his every skin pore. The more of smoke left his body, more relaxed he felt.

As the process at the core slowed down further until it stopped completely.

The moment this process halted, he took a deep breath feeling much relieved. Just when he thought that the entire process was complete, a sudden gush of air startled him a bit.

He felt something entering his body through the skin pores. He kept his eyes closed and focused on the pores as things become clear to him a few seconds later.

The mana that was entering through his pores gave a relaxing feeling as the process sped up a bit.

Relieved from pain or any other distractions, he just focused on this process and traced the route mana took to reach the core.

A few minutes later, the mana absorption process stopped, signalling the end of entire process.

Reyansh kept his eyes still closed focusing on the feeling when he was absorbing the mana, all the earlier pain was completely gone.

While Reyansh re-lived the feeling of absorbing mana mentally, a notification panel prompted him to open his eyes. It read:

"That was a worthy Roller-coaster ride." Reyansh spoke with a smile.
