Cosmic Patron System: 100X Return on Every Reward
Chapter 57 - 0 | Rage of a Brother
Arpita thought hard for a second about Reyansh’s question. From the reaction she had witnessed, she knew this was going to end bloody and now it was time for her to choose.
After taking a deep breath, she answered, "They are recently awakened E-rank hunters, they are both unconscious currently and are in this hospital on a different floor."
Hearing her answer he looked at her sister again and whispered, "So you took your first step, huh, I knew you were brave."
He smiled, not a happy smile, but a smile masking the pain. She had done something he should be proud of but he couldn’t feel any joy, looking at her in such state.
"One last question, miss Arpita," he asked, less domineering this time.
His anger hadn’t gone down but after an expression of rage, he started thinking, with his cold and rational precision, figuring out his future steps.
"Was this a random act or did someone targeted her specially?" He asked.
Arpita went silent again, longer this time, like she was weighing her life choices at the moment.
This silence itself was an answer for Reyansh, he immediately understood, this wasn’t a random attack, his fist clenched.
’Whoever you are, you better pray that you die before I get to you.’ He made his mind.
"I have no concrete proof at the moment but I think Guildmaster of Victory guild was responsible for this," she finally answered.
Reyansh turned to look at her again, his brows raised, "Why?"
"Do you remember the boy whose hand you broke?" she questioned back.
"Yes."
"His father is the guildmaster of that guild," she answered.
"The same incident you said you will take care of," Reyansh shot back immediately.
Arpita gritted her teeth, veins bulging on her head. This was also one of the reasons she had hurried to the hospital.
"Yes, I accept that I didn’t expect Victory guild to be that reckless, and it’s my fault that I didn’t see it coming." She spoke.
Luna was looking at Arpita curiously, ’So you really are going with Honesty and truth, let’s see what kind of person you are StarWalker.’ She thought.
"However, I don’t think it’s that simple either," Arpita added.
"There’s more?" Reyansh asked, he was starting to think that Vanya’s kidnapping wasn’t just a simple show of power or a case of revenge. Her next words confirmed his hypothesis.
"Do you remember the contract served to you by previous principal?" she asked.
"Vividly."
"Well, that principal was acting under the thumbs of Jai Rajput, Victory’s Guildmaster. This whole incident may have to do something related to that too." She explained.
Hearing this Reyansh laughed, almost hysterical.
"Hahaha...so he thought he could recruit me by abducting my sister. Well if he is that desperate perhaps I should visit his guild." 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖
Arpita watched silently, she was getting sure by every second that he could become an unhinged person if his family was ever in danger.
"Reyansh before you do..." As Arpita was speaking, the gate opened as a doctor entered the room.
Reyansh also stopped his maniacal laugh as he looked at the doctor.
"Are you her brother?" the doctor asked as she saw him standing next to her.
"Yes, how’s my sister situation and can I do anything to help?" he asked, his earlier body language nowhere to be seen.
"First of all, she is not in any kind of danger. Her injuries aren’t deep, she is more of mentally exhausted which lead to her falling unconscious." She explained.
"Second, I would recommend using Rare or Exalted rank healing potion on her. If you have any financial difficulty, I could recommend you to our loan department." She added.
"No, there’s no need I can pay." Reyansh answered as he started system shop and started looking for a healing potion.
"Though I would like to mention that the lady behind you offered to pay but we couldn’t accept her request as she isn’t family." The doctor added.
This time Reyansh didn’t turned back and just nodded. Before the doctor could say anything else.
Reyansh bought an Elite rank healing potion from the system shop, producing it in front of doctor. Suddenly, there was a silence in the room as the doctor stared at him.
"This is Elite rank potion, right?" the doctor asked her eyes widening.
’It cost 10,000 Cosmic coins for an Elite rank potion, I was right about the money.’ Arpita thought watching him pull out something even she had to think twice before buying.
Reyansh nodded and handed the potion to doctor. She handled it carefully then she started applying the potion on injured area.
While doctor applied the potion, both Reyansh and Arpita stood silently. However, both of their mind was filled with chaotic thoughts.
’To go through such extent, he must be confident in his strength or is it just boasting like his father?’ he wondered, his rage threatened to spill again but he suppressed himself, not wanting to cause any disturbance in Vanya’s healing process.
Within a minute, the doctor had applied a layer of potion of all of Vanya’s wounds and handed the remaining potion back to Reyansh.
"The wounds will heal in a few minutes but she has gone through psychological trauma so she won’t wake up immediately." The doctor explained.
"I estimate at least 12 hours before she gains consciousness. Give her remaining potion when she wakes up."
"That is all, I would say your sister is lucky and brave to have fought off like that. You can ask for me at the counter is you need anything." She stated.
"Thank you, doctor," Reyansh responded, she nodded and left the room.
Reyansh exhaled as he sat near her, he saw her broken hand getting back to normal, same for other wounds and abrasions.
With every wound healing, his rage still simmered but now it became much more controlled. His rational mind already started thinking of ways to deal with the perpetrator behind this plan.
’What now?’ Luna asked mentally.
’I am still not sure, his intent is masked by his blood thirst. But I know one thing for sure is that Jai has no idea about what he had unleashed on himself.’ Arpita replied.
’Are you going to bring up talk about the Nisapal now?’ Luna questioned.
’No way, first I have to let this matter settle before talking about anything else.’ Arpita answered.
"What are you going to do Reyansh?" Arpita asked after a minute of silence.
"Thank you, miss Arpita," Reyansh replied with gratitude, "And I am sorry for my earlier outburst at you. Thank you for coming to the aid my sister when I couldn’t."
’Did he cooldown that easily or should I be more worried?’ She wondered.
"No need of thanks, she is the top student of my school and I had stated earlier that I would look after her. So I was just doing my duty." Arpita answered feeling a bit flustered hearing thanks from a man who was seething with rage minutes ago.
"And don’t worry about what you said earlier, she is family. I understand it very well." She added.
"I am going to kill Jai Rajput," Reyansh spoke like he was talking about going on shopping.
"What?" Arpita exclaimed, though she heard it clearly, she felt a bit unsettled by how easily he uttered those words.
’Did he really awaken three days ago?’ she thought.
"You asked what am I going to do, that’s my answer." There was no hesitation in his voice.
"Listen, Reyansh before you..." As she was speaking, she was interrupted by a knock on the door.
The door opened as a man with black sunglasses in oversized coat entered the room.
"Hello, myself Taran, I am from Hunter’s council. I am here to arrest that girl." He spoke like he owned the room.
"What did you say?" the anger which had almost simmered down, exploded again as Reyansh stood up.
