Counterfeit Hero
Chapter 1212 - 8-23: Life-or-Death Battle 3 (Part 2)
Just as the attackers were hunting down the remaining personnel, the prisoners of war exchanged glances, hesitating as they prepared to make contact, when suddenly, a series of intense tremors shook the ground.
The tremors started small and slight, but gradually grew more intense with the distant rumble. In the end, it was like an earthquake, and standing on the ground felt as though there were no solid footing—only a constant shifting of balance, with feet feeling as though they were standing on a pile of cotton.
People looked in horror towards the direction from which the tremors came.
Moments later, over a hundred Spirit Cats with orange knee and elbow armor surged out of the mountain bend like a tidal wave, charging forward.
The valley vibrated beneath them, fierce winds roared as sand and dust filled the sky, the world darkened suddenly, leaving only the violent roar of this steel torrent.
The Special Forces Camp of the Jiepeng 172 Armored Division!
At the first sight of the hundred Jiepeng Mecha roaring out, the prisoners of war knew that those attackers were finished.
Since the Jiepeng 172 Division retreated into these mountains, they’ve been fighting at the forefront. These Spirit Cats with distinctive orange markings have been seen by the prisoners more than once.
They are the sharp blade of the 172 Division, and each appearance brings significant casualties to the Chuckna Forces. Their hands are stained with the blood of Chuckna Warriors!
To repel their attacks, a sacrifice ten times greater than that needed to fend off regular Jiepeng Armored Forces is required. These are the elite of the 172 Division, and only the strongest Special Forces warriors of the 13th Armored Division could even hope to confront them!
It is almost predictable, under the impact of this torrent, that those dozens of red-marked Mecha are destined to be shattered!
The jungle is shrouded in the shadow of the mountains. The heavy mist, moisture in the air, and dew on the leaves and grass make the entire forest appear dark and damp. Over two thousand tattered prisoners gathered together silently, staring blankly at the outside of the jungle, at the sunlit wide valley floor where two armored forces rapidly approached.
A gust of wind blew through, and deep within the jungle arose a rustling like torrential rain. Suddenly, a Corporal dressed in light clothing shuddered, his senses prompting him to look back into the depths of the forest.
"Look!"
At the shout from the Corporal, the prisoners of war sharply turned around.
Among the dense trees, lush shrubs, and grass, they vaguely saw the sheen of metal and the flicker of red.
Medium-sized War Elephant Mecha and Heavy Mecha Evil Dragon with red markings like those attacking outside emerged from the jungle like ghosts in the dark, appearing before everyone. Behind them, there were three Black Wind electronic Mecha.
The prisoners, uncertain and anxious, quickly gathered under the officers on a small hill within the woods,
Two Majors were the highest ranking officers in this unarmed unit. Though everyone knew that if these Mecha launched an attack, the unarmed warriors wouldn’t be able to harm them, and less than five percent could escape, the instinct honed through years of training still prompted them to prepare for combat.
"Boom!"
Like tens of thousands of thunderbolts striking simultaneously, an even more intense roar of Energy Cannons erupted in the valley outside the jungle. It was the fierce collision of two armored forces of the same Mecha model but with different markings!
The violent sound of explosions filled the heavens and earth, relentless. It drove people mad, wild, making them long for a moment of peace, if only for a second.
The warriors, long accustomed to gunfire and explosions, did not turn to look. They stared directly at the Mecha before them, their eyes filled with suspicion, vigilance, and anticipation. The hatch of a Heavy Mecha sprang open, the emergency mode dislodging the metal door from the control of hydraulic stretching devices, causing it to heavily fall to the ground.
A Major wearing a Chuckna Uniform stepped out, flanked by several warriors in the same uniform.
"Commander!" Dozens of Chuckna Prisoners suddenly stirred, squeezing out from the crowd.
"Li Weiguo!" Following a loud shout, heads turned towards the sound. Standing in the center of the hill, a dark-skinned Major suddenly let out a cry, pushing away warriors in front, rushing down the hill like a gust of wind. He ran straight to the Major coming towards him, embracing him fiercely!
"Lokita!" Li Weiguo laughed and punched the dark-skinned Major: "Damn it, you’re still alive!"
"If you’re not dead, how could I dare die!" Major Lokita countered with a punch: "You still owe me money... I also owe you my life!"
The two men glared at each other, then tightly hugged again, tears glistening in their eyes.
Since entering the Military Academy at eighteen, they have always been best friends. After graduation, they were initially assigned to different units, but who knew they’d both end up in the 13th Armored Division!
Since the war began, Li Weiguo, commander of the First Battalion of Regiment Two, and Lokita, Deputy Minister of the Department of Electronic Combat, have fought shoulder to shoulder. Li Weiguo even saved Lokita’s life. They are true comrades through life and death!
During their escape, their units were far apart, each following the main forces westward, never having seen each other.
