Chapter 519 - 245: We’re Friends, Good Friends! (Part 2)
"Thanks, I’ll contact her myself."
After Jiang Tao finished speaking, he reached into his pocket to find Bai Yulan’s number on his phone, while stepping into the establishment.
As soon as he entered, his eyes involuntarily looked up at the gigantic crystal chandelier hanging right in the center of the hall.
This massive crystal chandelier was intricately designed, complex, and looked magnificent.
The main light was surrounded by a dozen smaller crystal lamps.
Eight chains stretched out in eight directions under eight domes.
If flesh and blood were hit by such a large chandelier...
The thought alone was chilling!
"Don’t walk under the chandelier!"
Seeing a client manager in a lady’s suit passed under the chandelier, Jiang Tao instinctively called out to remind her.
"Huh?"
Wu Xiaolan was momentarily stunned after hearing Jiang Tao’s words.
Then, she looked up at the chandelier above with a puzzled expression.
Only after did she quicken her pace to leave the area beneath the chandelier.
"President Jiang, you’re here. Are you looking for President Bai? President Bai hasn’t arrived yet."
Wu Xiaolan walked up to Jiang Tao respectfully and greeted him.
Jiang Tao’s gaze turned to Wu Xiaolan, his expression serious:
"Xiao Wu, gather some people to set up a cordon under the chandelier, and make sure no one walks beneath it anymore."
"Huh? Set up a cordon?"
Wu Xiaolan looked puzzled upon hearing Jiang Tao’s remark; this was a bit beyond her authority, she couldn’t make the decision.
Jiang Tao nodded, frankly saying, "Yes, I noticed something’s wrong with the chandelier; it might fall at any moment."
"Huh? Might fall?"
Wu Xiaolan looked at the giant crystal chandelier hanging from the ceiling, her face showing surprise and a bit of fear.
She herself had just walked under it!
"Thank you for the reminder, President Jiang. However, I can’t make the decision, I need to contact our deputy president."
After speaking, Wu Xiaolan pulled out her phone and found Deputy President Zou Ruqi’s number in her contacts, dialing it.
Once the call connected, Wu Xiaolan explained Jiang Tao’s concerns to Zou Ruqi.
At the same time, Jiang Tao also dialed Bai Yulan’s number, updating her about the situation.
Zou Ruqi hurriedly came down from the office after receiving Wu Xiaolan’s call.
Following Jiang Tao’s instructions, she had several staff members from the logistics department put up a cordon under the chandelier.
Around 9 a.m., Bai Yulan also drove to the scene.
"President Bai."
"President Bai."
Several senior executives from Baiyulan Hotel greeted Bai Yulan respectfully upon seeing her.
Bai Yulan simply nodded at them, considering it a greeting, and walked directly to Jiang Tao’s side and stopped.
"Sister Bai, you’re here."
Jiang Tao looked at Bai Yulan, greeting her in a flat tone.
"Jiang Tao, how did you notice there was a problem with the chandelier?"
Looking at Jiang Tao, Bai Yulan asked with a slightly puzzled expression.
This crystal chandelier had been in place since Baiyulan Hotel opened.
Every year, it received maintenance, cleaning, and inspections.
It’s barely been a month since the last maintenance, making the possibility of issues very small.
Yet Bai Yulan also knew Jiang Tao wouldn’t joke about such a serious matter.
"Just as I was about to walk towards the chandelier, my spine suddenly went cold with an extremely dangerous intuition."
"Sister Bai, my intuition is usually very accurate, so I suggest you get someone up there to check."
Jiang Tao’s eyes met Bai Yulan’s, unwaveringly certain.
"Intuition about danger..."
Despite feeling slightly nonsensical about Jiang Tao’s reasoning, Bai Yulan took it very seriously.
"Old Han, find something to go up and check."
Bai Yulan glanced at a hotel maintenance department manager and instructed.
"Alright, President Bai, I’ll contact the lift."
Old Han immediately took out his phone to make the call, and in less than five minutes, several maintenance staff pushed a lift into the hotel hall.
Placing the lift directly beneath the crystal chandelier.
Two employees hopped onto the lift platform, securing their safety belts to the railing beside the lift.
Click, click, click...
The lift platform began to ascend under a staff member’s operation, quickly reaching the top.
"President Bai! A few anchor bolts securing the crystal chandelier have loosened!"
The crowd below instinctively stepped back upon hearing the employee’s report from above, fearing they might somehow be affected.
"Goodness, thank goodness it was caught in time; it could have been truly dangerous!"
"I walked under it several times this morning; my luck is something else!"
"Oh my, how could this happen? I won’t dare walk under it again!"
"..."
The gathered crowd murmured quietly with fear, each visibly shaken.
Working at the hotel, almost everyone passed under the crystal chandelier several times a day.
Had it not been for Jiang Tao’s alert, someone might have been hit misfortunately.
"Old Han! How were your previous checks conducted?! Why such a serious safety hazard!"
Bai Yulan turned her gaze to Old Han beside her, her face seemingly covered with frost.
"I’m sorry, President Bai, I...I don’t know how this happened; everything was fine during the checks."
Old Han kept his head down, not daring to meet Bai Yulan’s gaze, sweating profusely after hearing his subordinate’s report.
