Debuff Master
Chapter 1244
The historical event of a single person breaking into the Magic Tower started with everyone on the first floor being instantly killed after getting exposed to radioactive energy..
After a while, dozens of high-ranking mages arrived at the scene.
“How dare you set foot here?!”
“You’re not leaving this tower alive!”
“Kill him!”
One after another, they increased their poison resistance to ensure that they wouldn't get poisoned by the radioactive green fog.
Then, without fear, they charged straight into the fog and cast their spells at Siegfried.
“Asha’a gilushka!”
“Gilzeek Kazan!”
“Abracadabra!”
They all unleashed their spells at the same time.
“Pfft!” Siegfried snorted at their attacks.
He didn't even bother using Wave of Oppression against the oncoming spells.
Why?
It was all because ranged attacks were useless against him while he was inside the Green Hell Magno. The radioactive microbes swarming inside the green fog possessed the ability to completely nullify all ranged attacks, and the only way to deal damage to Siegfried while inside the Green Hell Magno was to attack him from melee.
Wooong!
The spells cast by the magicians barely flew five meters before vanishing as if they hadn't existed to begin with.
“...!”
“...!”
“...!”
The mages were stunned and visibly shocked.
“No complaints even if I kill you, right?” Siegfried sneered, flashing a chilling grin.
With a wave of his hand—
Whoosh!
—Hundreds of aura blades appeared and rained down on the mages. The Transcendent Torrential Flower Rain was so destructive that it would give most mages a run for their money.
‘All clear.’
After wiping out everyone on the first floor, Siegfried immediately went up to the next floor. Of course, he didn't forget to activate Inzaghi’s Clairvoyance before going up. The Magic Tower was not an ordinary building. It was a massive tower created by magic inside, so it was more like another dimension altogether.
In other words, the interior of the tower was more like a compilation of different dimensions combined into a single world.
Therefore, Siegfried needed Inzaghi’s Clairvoyance to find his way around.
‘The disciple of Elder Daode Tianzun is a woman, right?’
Siegfried racked his brains trying to recall the name of the previous master of the Magic Tower, who was also the chairperson of the Magic Council. He strained to remember the name, but the name didn't come to him so easily.
‘It was a woman. But what was her name again? It was something like La... Lala? No, it was Lai something...’
He had heard the name in passing so long ago that he couldn’t remember it clearly. In addition, he had dozed off during the meeting, and he also did not bother reading the operation plan properly, so he knew basically nothing.
‘Ah, damn it... I should’ve brought Hamchi along.’
He couldn’t help but miss Hamchi right now. The little critter would usually remember things like that, but he had opted out of this operation, claiming it was Mochi’s birthday.
‘What was it... Lai... Laimi? No, it was something else...’
‘Hm? Was it Laimian?’
Siegfried tried typing the name Laimian into the search bar.
[Alert: Searching...]
[Alert: Laimian van Laurent found!]
The name of the disciple of Daode Tianzun turned out to be Laimian van Laurent. She was the previous master of the Magic Tower and one of the Five Star Heavens of the continent.
She was imprisoned along with other mages on the forty-ninth floor of the Magic Tower.
‘What? The entire forty-ninth floor is a prison?’
Siegfried was surprised to find that an entire floor of the Magic Tower was a prison.
After confirming her location, Siegfried immediately headed up.
Though the path twisted and turned every few seconds, that was not a problem for him.
Why?
It was all because Inzaghi’s Clairvoyance would always lead him to a shortcut to the forty-ninth floor.

Meanwhile, news of Siegfried storming the Magic Tower alone spread almost immediately.
“Your Imperial Majesty! Siegfried von Proa has invaded the Magic Tower all alone!”
“Hm? He went to the Magic Tower alone?” Emperor Stuttgart muttered. He could hardly believe his ears.
“Yes, sire!”
“Hmm... That’s quite baffling.”
Emperor Stuttgart knew that invading the Magic Tower was tantamount to suicide.
Even the Marchioni Empire had never once considered suppressing the Magic Tower using force, but to think that someone had stormed it alone. It was so outrageous that the emperor wondered if there was some sort of mistake with the report.
However, it was unlikely that there was a mistake, as all matters reported to the emperor were thoroughly checked. Thus, Emperor Stuttgart had no choice but to accept that the report was true.
“Deploy the knights and assassinate Siegfried von Proa,” Emperor Stuttgart commanded.
“As you command, sire!”
After issuing the command, Emperor Stuttgart leaned back on his chair and shook his head.
“Just what is he planning...?”
He couldn’t understand the logic behind Siegfried’s reckless actions.
Still, regardless of whether Siegfried was the enemy or not, he couldn’t help but admire him at times like this.
Who could have imagined that he would have the guts to do something as crazy as storming the Magic Tower? Not to mention, storming it alone, at that?
“I truly cannot understand you, Siegfried von Proa... What are you planning to do?” Emperor Stuttgart muttered.
Contrary to the emperor’s thoughts, Siegfried actually had no plan at all. He had simply rushed in with the intention of rescuing the mages imprisoned, and he was doing it so without any elaborate plan.
However, there was no way Emperor Stuttgart would even consider that fact, as such a thing was beyond preposterous to begin with. Siegfried was what could be considered a "mindless gamer." They were reckless, bold, and tough people who would often use brute force to solve problems, and their actions often resulted in miracles.
“Things will not go as you plan this time, Siegfried von Proa. I extend my sincerest condolences to you.”
Emperor Stuttgart raised a glass of brandy and made a toast toward Siegfried. He was convinced beyond doubt that this recklessness would cost Siegfried his life.

Siegfried headed straight up to the forty-ninth floor of the Magic Tower, and it was all thanks to Inzaghi’s Clairvoyance.
The overpowered item revealed a shortcut to him, so he was able to get there without having to pass through the other floors.
“How did you get here?”
“You shall pay dearly for setting foot on this floor.”
“Prepare to die, intruder!”
A group of magic swordsmen employed by the Magic Tower suddenly appeared and blocked Siegfried’s path.
The reason the Magic Tower employed magic swordsmen was simple. Mages were overwhelmingly powerful beings capable of unleashing widespread destruction on the battlefield, but they were physically weak. They were extremely vulnerable in close combat, and dying at close range was often their cause of death in battles.
The mages themselves knew that, so they looked for a countermeasure. Thus, magic swordsmen were born. Although they weren't high-ranking knights, they were still knights with sufficient combat prowess.
They were hand-picked by the Magic Tower and taught advanced-level magic, allowing them to empower themselves and fight.
Armed with self-buff skills such as haste, body reinforcement, enhanced reflexes, and a plethora of other buffs, they were capable of exerting tremendous combat strength, allowing them to overpower their opponents with sheer stat superiority.
The combat power of these magic swordsmen far surpassed that of knights of the same level.
“Pfft!”
However, the magic swordsmen were no different from ordinary mages to Siegfried. In other words, they were nothing more than his prey.
Why? 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺
It was all thanks to Wave of Truth—a skill that dispelled all enemies of their buffs. All he had to do was use the Wave of Truth to strip them of their buffs and then beat the living daylights out of them.
“Nope. You guys are the ones dying today,” Siegfried said with a smirk. Then, he drew his +10 Sky Piercer, unleashed Wave of Truth, and struck with Invincible Spear Art.
“Arghhh!”
“Uwaagh!”
“G-Ghrrk!”
It took less than thirty seconds for him to kill more than a dozen magic swordsmen.
“Tsk... What a nuisance,” Siegfried clicked his tongue and grumbled.
He walked over the bodies of the magic swordsmen until he reached the prison gates.
The thick iron gates seemed to be made of some sort of unknown metal and looked quite sturdy.
“Ughh...”
At that moment, one of the magic swordsmen who was still alive glared at Siegfried and growled.
“You... are making a grave mistake...”
“Hm?”
“Once you open that door... the demons of hell will—ughh...!”
Siegfried ignored the warning and drove his +10 Sky Piercer straight into the iron gate.
Wooong!
Then, he channeled his Primordial Force and unleashed Wave of Annihilation.
Three, two, one...
Boom!
The iron gates, which seemed indestructible, shattered into pieces.
“Oops, my hands slipped. I opened it. So what?” Siegfried sneered at the dying magic swordsman.
“You... have opened... Pandora’s Box... The horrific demons trapped within it will—”
Siegfried waved his hand and cut him off, “Nah, don’t worry about me. Just continue on your way to the afterlife.”
Offering his blessings for the man’s soul, Siegfried stepped beyond the shattered gates and entered the prison of the Magic Tower.
It was then.
“Who dares set foot in here?”
“Hmm... I guess we have a fool who knows not what fear is.”
“The price for such ignorance shall be his soul.”
One by one, the demons inside the prison revealed themselves, each of them looking quite fearsome and powerful.
***
Siegfried tensed after seeing the demons.
Even though they were in the Middle Realm, the demons guarding the prison were bound to be terrifying beings. He gripped his +10 Sky Piercer tightly and prepared to unleash all of his debuffs, but that proved to be unnecessary.
“Ehhh?!” One of the demons cried out after seeing Siegfried. “Y-Your Majesty?!”
Then, the other demons also recognized Siegfried and jumped in shock.
Thud! Thud! Thud!
One after another, they all knelt on the ground and bowed their heads before him.
“We pay our respects to the Great Demon King!”
“We pay our respects to the Great Demon King!”
“We pay our respects to the Great Demon King!”
It turned out that the demons guarding the prison of the Magic Tower were none other than demonkin from the Demon Realm. They were demons who had once made contracts with mages, but then they failed to return to the Demon Realm for some reason. Some of them signed contracts with the Magic Tower to work as prison guards.
There was no way that these demonkin from the Demon Realm would fail to recognize the Demon King, Siegfried. Even if Siegfried could no longer wield the full power of the Demon King in the Middle Realm, he was still exuding the aura of the Demon King.
“Ah, thank you for your hard work. Get up now. No need to grovel like that,” Siegfried waved his hand dismissively at the demons bowing low before him.
“Thank you, Your Majesty!”
Then, the highest-ranking demon among them, Nibraksas, stepped in front as the representative.
“Loyalty to the Great Demon King! My name is Nibraksas. It is an honor to be before you, my lord,” Nibraksas said, showing his respect.
“So, what are you all doing here?” Siegfried asked.
“All of us were contracted with the mages of the tower and were tasked with managing the prisoners here, my lord.”
“I see.”
“If I may ask, what brings Your Majesty to this place?”
“Nothing much. I plan to smash this tower to pieces, but I wanted to free the mages imprisoned here first.”
“Then, we shall assist you, my lord.”
“Really?”
“Yes, my lord. You are the ruler of the Demon Realm, the Great Demon King. Is it not natural for us demons to be at the service of our lord?”
“Good,” Siegfried replied with a nod. Then, he smiled and said, “I like your personality.”
“It is an honor, my lord!”
“Alright, I’ll bestow you with a position later.”
“Ohhh!”
“I like loyal and well-mannered ones. Guys like you are the good ones.”
“Y-Your Majesty! I am overwhelmed by your boundless grace!”
Moved deeply by Siegfried’s favor, Nibraksas cried out at the top of his lungs and slammed his head on the floor. Siegfried turned and spoke proudly to the magic swordsman who had tried to warn him earlier.
“See that? Pandora’s Box? Where? Who?”
“N-No... T-That can’t be...!”
The magic swordsman was stunned and in complete disbelief. He had never imagined in his wildest dreams that the terrifying demons guarding the prison would turn out to be subordinates of the intruder, Siegfried von Proa.
