Demi-human Girls Completion Manual
Chapter 1335 - 22: News (2)
Accordingly, I should pay some attention myself.
She pursed her lips and stood up, looking at Fisher who hadn’t fully awakened yet and Ingrid who had already lost consciousness and collapsed on the ground behind him. Just as she was about to act, she noticed something was wrong.
She looked behind Ingrid in confusion and suddenly discovered that the headless corpses of those two, presumably demons, had completely disappeared, perhaps consumed during the earlier ritual.
...
...
"Mr. Fisher, you rest here for a while, I’ll go arrange some other matters."
Since the turmoil occurred on the shore earlier, the entire Red Dragon Court had become restless. Rafael had sealed off the information, with only a few knowing what exactly happened. However, this didn’t stop the people of the Dragon Court from speculating about the cause of the loud noise.
Some said it was the Fake Court attacking; others said the soldiers at the shore defense line attempted to defect and flee north but were discovered by the Queen; even more believed it was divine punishment, claiming it was a sign of war descended by a god.
Anyway, the entire Red Dragon Court was temporarily bustling, with Rafael as the Queen and Moli as the Priest bearing most of the responsibilities.
Fisher was temporarily placed by Moli in a room in the Royal Court, while Ingrid went for some treatment. Fisher was confident he had only consumed Barbatos’s seal without soul damage; for the rest of his wounds, he left them to the doctors of the Dragon Court.
Once quiet, the room only had Fisher meditating with his eyes closed, along with Emhardt.
Emhardt hovered around him, noticing he hadn’t yet settled the account with Moli’s affairs here, realizing something was amiss.
He quickly hovered around Fisher again, asking,
"Fisher, what’s going on with your body, this level of chaos, your soul also..."
Upon hearing this, Fisher opened his eyes, glanced at Emhardt with concern, and explained,
"Do you remember when I showed you some knowledge in the Northern Realm before?"
"You’re talking about... that forbidden chaotic knowledge?"
With Fisher’s reminder, Emhardt quickly recalled the painful memory of losing consciousness after reading a few words back then. He shook his head, exclaiming,
"No wonder your entry into the Mythical Rank is so peculiar, you... I warned you before not to read those materials anymore, otherwise one day you’ll either go mad or mutate into a monster!"
Fisher suddenly thought about the illusion produced by using the Soul Completion Manual to devour the seal on Ingrid’s soul earlier, the black sludge absorbing souls, which might be his future downfall.
He shook his head and said with a smile,
"I was originally planning to give up reading them. One part of my entry into the Mythical Rank was to properly settle my debts, and then I’d stop... but now, it seems I can’t stop like this. You mentioned earlier, Barbatos is a Demon Duke, so his true form should be of the Eighteenth Rank, while I’m just entering the Mythical Rank, which is the Fifteenth Rank. If he makes a move on the Dragon Court, what will Rafael and Moli do?"
Emhardt was slightly stunned, listening to Fisher continue,
"And they are in the army of Saint Nali, I don’t believe Elizabeth has the ability to command this group of Destroying Heaven and Earth demon species. They must have some demands on Nali and Elizabeth... just to protect them, I have to keep climbing ranks."
"But ultimately, I’m just a human of the Zeroth Rank in a world where all ranks are fixed. My ascent to the Mythical Rank and further progression can only rely on chaos that cannot be controlled by rules. I am aware of its side effects, yet I am left with no other choice."
Emhardt opened his mouth, and after a long time, finally squeezed out a sentence through gritted teeth,
"Blame it all on Paimon!!"
Fisher was somewhat amused, asking,
"What does this have to do with Helair?"
"Don’t you forget, she’s also a part of the demons, and the only one who’s been free for hundreds of years. In our four and a half years away, she’s certainly committed many wrongdoings, including the release of those demons being related to her!"
"Then, what is her purpose?"
Emhardt’s righteous indignation stopped, knowing Paimon is very bad indeed, but when it comes to explaining her true intentions, he cannot say for certain, only knowing her intentions are impure!
Fortunately, Fisher wasn’t expecting Emhardt to provide answers, as this question might also be something he wishes to explore. Unfortunately, there are too few clues at the moment to draw any meaningful conclusions, so he could only focus on the issues at hand,
"Regardless of whether the demons’ release is related to Helair or not, the demon problem undeniably exists and I must face it. I was greedy, having taken too much back then, now is the time to repay."
"...I’m just worried that in trying to do good, you might end up causing harm. Using such dangerous chaotic knowledge could prove futile, and might hurt those women instead. You wish to help them, yet conversely, they wish for your safety... unless they discover each other’s existence."
